Recently on a newly opened Hall of Presidents attraction in the Magic Kingdom, a guest wasn’t happy with one of the animatronic characters on the stage. A video has surfaced of him yelling “Lock him up” and arguing with guests during President Trump’s speech.

Check it out the short video here:

You can see the full-length video here on twitter from the protester:

Towards the end of the video, you can see him being escorted out of the attraction. We hear Disney has security posted at the Hall of Presidents ever since it opened a couple of weeks ago.

Actor Alfie Curtis from “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope has Passed Away

Alfie Curtis death

It’s a sad day for Star Wars fans.  Not only is this the one year anniversary of Carrie Fisher’s death, but another cast member from “A New Hope” has passed away.

Alfie Curtis, who brought the character of  Dr. Cornelius Evazan in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” to life has passed away at the age of 87. The cause of his death has yet to be announced.

Mark Hamill took to his Twitter today to pay his respects.

Curtis’ character is best remembered for his interaction with Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley cantina.  He told Skywalker, “You just watch yourself. We’re wanted men. I have the death sentence on 12 systems.”

Curtis is also known for his role as the Milkman in “The Elephant Man.” He was born in London in 1930.

‘Do Not Disturb’ Signs Being Removed From Walt Disney World Resort Rooms

Walt Disney World

As we reported last week, “Do Not Disturb” signs were removed from select Walt Disney World Resort rooms and were replaced with “Room Occupied” signs instead. The change in signs also brings in a new policy to Disney Resorts. This new policy called “Right to Enter” states that a Cast Member will enter your room once every 24 hours. In the past, if the “Do Not Disturb” sign was on your door, a Cast Member would not enter your room as long as it was up, even up to the whole length of your visit.

Here is our first look at the new signs:

I think they are so cute!

Right now the following Resorts have had the “Do Not Disturb” signs replaced with the “Room Occupied” sign:

  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Disney has not officially announced the reason for the change but one would think the Las Vegas tragedy back in October is big part of it. Also, changes to the pet policy might have prompted some changes to be made.

The “Room Occupied” signs will be rolled out to all Resort Hotels in the near future.

Kevin Dundon Leaves Raglan Road Irish Pub in Disney Springs

Celebrity chef Kevin Dundon is no longer the chef partner of Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs, according to a news release. His family and Dunbrody House, a small luxury hotel in Wexford, Ireland owned by Dundon and his wife, Catherine, played into his decision to step down. Dundon said increasing commitments played into his final decision.

“I depart with a great sense of pride and wish Raglan Road continued success,” Dundon said in the news release.

Raglan Road Irish Pub opened in then Downtown Disney in 2005. The restaurant was managed by Dundon and partners Paul Nolan and John Cooke. The Disney Springs restaurant is well-known for its contemporary take on Irish cuisine — and its festive atmosphere, thanks to plenty of live entertainment including Irish dancers and bands.

Raglan Road executive chef Heberto Segura will continue to run the pub’s kitchen.

“Raglan Road has had a terrific run with Chef Dundon, and we wish him well in his endeavors,” said Raglan Road co-founder and partner, Paul Nolan.

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant is located at Disney Springs in the Walt Disney World Resort, 1640 E. Buena Vista Drive in Lake Buena Vista. For more information, visit raglanroad.com or call 407-938-0300.

Several Disneyland Attractions Closed Due to Major Power Outage

Reports are coming in of a major power outage affecting Disneyland Park. Disney has stated that power is out in Toontown and Fantasyland due to a malfunctioning transformer.

Guests have been evacuated from about a dozen rides including the Monorail.

As of 1:00 pm EST, Disneyland is only accepting Guests for re-entry. California Adventure Park has not been affected by the outage.

As you can imagine, crowds are extremely high at all Disney Parks being we are in the height of the holiday season. Disneyland Tweeted this earlier today:

And the Winner of Disney Cruise Line’s Annual Gingerbread Competition Is…

Disney Magic gingerbread house

The Disney Wonder!

Most Disney fans are familiar with the elaborate gingerbread house displays at Walt Disney World Resorts such as the Grand Floridian. Some may not be as familiar with the gingerbread house displays aboard the ships of Disney Cruise Line. For the fourth straight year, the four Disney Cruise Line ships have competed against each other to build the most magical, holiday-themed houses. The pastry, bakery chefs and, deck teams on each ship take pride in designing and decorating the oversized gingerbread house that greets guests when they walk into the atrium to begin their Very Merrytime Cruise. The gingerbread smell is even so wonderful that you start to smell it as you are walking up the gangway before even stepping foot on the ship!

Here is the winning gingerbread house from the Disney Wonder:

Cruise

The gingerbread house on each ship is made with approximately 650 pounds of gingerbread dough, 220 pounds of icing sugar and 5,250 gingerbread bricks. That’s all in addition to pounds of candies, cookies and other fun decorations that make it unique. Of course, the teams on the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Magic also deserve a special kudos for their hard work and imagination. Take a look at their work, and may it inspire you as you make gingerbread houses with your family this holiday season.

And here are the runner-ups from the Dream, Fantasy, and Magic:

Disney’s Care and Conservation of Tigers Supports Species

Disney’s Care and Conservation of Tigers Supports Species

It’s  really exciting that guests are getting an opportunity to observe the Sumatran tiger cubs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and marvel at their curiosity and playfulness.

Disney’s Care and Conservation of Tigers Supports Species

Disney’s team began about three years of planning for these cubs, following the recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan. Because there are fewer than 500 Sumatran tigers left in the wild, it’s important that they manage a population within AZA-accredited institutions to ensure they don’t become extinct in the wild.

Disney’s Care and Conservation of Tigers Supports Species

Unfortunately, extinction is a real possibility – even within our own lifetimes. We hope you will be inspired by the stories of these tigers and want to support them in the wild, too. To learn more about tigers and how you can help reverse the decline of these animals, visit DisneyAnimals.com.
