Spring is in the air at Shanghai Disney Resort and they are getting ready to celebrate! Exciting new offerings, including the highly anticipated opening of its theme park’s seventh land, Disney • Pixar Toy Story Land are heading our way this season. The Seasonal Pass, which is the perfect way for guests to experience all of the new offerings across the resort, will allow guests to enjoy exciting new attractions and entertainment featuring Buzz, Woody and all of their Toy Story friends.
The brand new Spring-Summer Seasonal Pass will allow guests to enjoy all the seasonal surprises with multiple entries to Shanghai Disneyland from March 16 to July 31, 2018, subject to the pass calendar. Three options are available for purchase including Any Day passes, Weekday passes and Sunday passes, with special early bird rates starting today and special renewal prices for 2016 or 2017 pass holders.
As an added bonus, the new Spring-Summer Seasonal Pass holders will be among the first ever official guests to experience the delightful new world of fun and imagination at Disney • Pixar Toy Story Land, the seventh themed land at Shanghai Disneyland, which opens on April 26, 2018. The new pass holders will have more than three months to visit and explore the theme park’s newest attractions featuring Woody, Slinky Dog, Rex and all of their Toy Story pals.
Leading up to the launch of the new Spring-Summer Seasonal Pass, guests can take advantage of unmissable deals as the resort teams up with Tmall to offer special Super Brand Day promotions. From March 6 to 11, Disney fans will be able to put a deposit on their Seasonal Pass and play a mobile AR game through the Taobao APP to win a free Seasonal Pass or cash vouchers exclusively at the official Shanghai Disney Resort Fliggy Flagship Store. Guests can then complete their purchase and enjoy early bird pricing with an approximately 20% off discount starting on March 12, Super Brand Day, through March 18. The new Seasonal Pass will be available on other official channels starting March 19. Previous 2016 or 2017 Seasonal Pass holders will enjoy an approximately 25% off discount when purchasing their new passes (this offer is not applicable in conjunction with any other discount to purchase Seasonal Pass). Guests can activate and use the pass as early as March 16.
Pass holders will also get private access to other special events and will receive exclusive offers across the resort for the entire duration of the pass, including an exclusive coupon booklet, approximately 20% off merchandise, approximately 20% off food and beverage, approximately 10% off stays at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, as well as special Disneytown offers, and more.
StellaLou Joins Shanghai Disney Resort This Spring
This spring also marks the arrival of Duffy’s newest friend, StellaLou, a spunky and determined lavender rabbit. When they met, StellaLou told Duffy of her ambitions to become a Broadway dancer and taught him what it means to “follow your dreams.” Now, she has danced her way to Shanghai Disneyland to join Duffy and his friends on Mickey Avenue.
A special welcome ceremony for StellaLou will be hosted at the Storytellers Statue on March 8 – the first day of the spring season at the resort and International Women’s Day – and will feature Minnie Mouse, Daisy, ShellieMay and other friends from Mickey Avenue, as StellaLou makes her first official appearance in Shanghai.
From March 8, guests will have the opportunity to meet StellaLou on Mickey Avenue, and get a first look at more than 20 brand-new StellaLou merchandise offerings launching at Sweethearts Confectionery, which has been transformed for her arrival. The new lineup includes 16 exclusive items ranging from specially-designed limited edition pins to chic jewelry, phone cases and more. Plus, Remy’s Patisserie and Il Paperino will be serving up some sweet new treats to celebrate her arrival, like key lime milkshakes, blueberry parfaits, macaroon gift boxes, jasmine cheesecakes topped with mini StellaLou chocolates, and a collectible StellaLou drink goblet. Guests visiting Disneytown this spring may also see StellaLou during pop-up performances from Friday to Sunday.
Spring Blossoms Transform the Resort into a Floral Fantasy World
As the warm weather spreads across Shanghai, Shanghai Disney Resort will come alive with the beauty of flowers, flowering trees, shrubs and perennials blooming throughout the park all spring and summer.
At the park entrance, Floral Mickey will welcome guests with thousands of flowers and a special design to celebrate the colorful season. In the Gardens of Imagination, guests will experience a floral explosion, with cherry trees, plum blossoms, and the resort’s very own apple “Floral Archway”, plus spring favorites like tulips, daffodils, roses, and more. Guests will be able to snap photos amidst the seasonal blooms throughout the entire resort, with an extra-special photo spot in front of the Enchanted Storybook Castle. Quaint flower boxes and flowering trees
in Fantasyland will also provide excellent floral photo backdrops, while the tropical flowers in Treasure Cove and Adventure Isle add exotic flair and brighten a visit for all guests.
New buds and blossoms will provide fresh spring surprises for guests visit after visit. Guests will explore the unique charm of their favorite flowering plum and Yulan magnolias in March, see a burst of iconic cherry trees, vibrant azaleas and whimsical wisteria in April, and be immersed in the romantic floral experience with a rainbow of red, yellow and white roses in May.
New Entertainment, Events, Merchandise and Treats to Celebrate the Season
The spring will bring lots of new fun to Shanghai Disney Resort this year with new entertainment, festivities, merchandise, food and beverage and events throughout the season, including:
- Egg-tastic Festivities for Spring
Some egg-stra special festivities will include a fun egg expedition that builds on the popular egg scavenger hunt from last spring at Shanghai Disney Resort. The large sculpted eggs from Gardens of Imagination and Disneytown will return once again – now with brand new eggs decorated as Duffy and friends. And to celebrate the opening of the new Disney • Pixar Toy Story Land, extra-special eggs featuring the Toy Story characters will be there for guests to discover and snap photos with.
- New Spring Performances with Duffy’s friend StellaLou
This spring, the Mickey Avenue Disney friends will be on hand to welcome StellaLou with style. The new “Duffy and Friends” show takes place in front of the Whistle Stop Shop and will feature a group of dancers alongside Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and of course StellaLou. Guests will be invited to join the show as StellaLou leads everyone in a fun choreographed number. In addition, both Gelatoni and StellaLou will join the cast of “Zao Shang Hao, Mickey”, the popular character gathering in Celebration Square every morning from March 9 to June 1, 2018.
- Themed Merchandise For Guests of All Ages
For a limited time only, Shanghai Disney Resort will launch more than 30 specially designed merchandise items featuring spring colors and designs. The tradition of bunnies and eggs carries over to this season’s new lineup. Guests will find plush toys, bags, mugs, keychains and more, including a Judy Hopps egg-shaped plush cross-bag and a bright notepad shaped like eggs in a flower basket. Family and friends can even find matching spring-themed shirts and headbands. Plus, Trading Pin fans will be thrilled to see the newest limited-release pins and pin frame sets to add to their collections. What’s more, guests will find fresh spring costumes available for Duffy and ShellieMay plush items to dress them up for the season.
- Fresh Food and Beverages for Every Spring Taste
In addition to the new StellaLou treats, guests visiting this spring will be thrilled by the latest food and beverage offerings throughout the resort, including a delectable Mickey and friends doughnut, grilled corn on cob, juicy hot dogs, crispy chicken legs and new tea-smoked duck legs. Aurora restaurant at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will also release a limited-time spring menu with entrees including Poached Canadian Fresh Lobster, Angus Grain-fed Beef Tenderloin with Herb Butter, Thai Inspired Broth with Fresh Tiger Prawn, and original desserts including pineapple cha cha, lemon noir, and more.
- Enjoy a Spring Carnival at Disneytown and Wishing Star Park
Guests can also find new spring-inspired activities throughout Disneytown. In addition to StellaLou’s pop-up appearances at the Marketplace Stage every Friday through Sunday, a “Celebrate Earth Spring Carnival” will be held from April 13 to 22. The Carnival includes a Springtime Lawn Party on weekends where families and friends of all ages can come together to enjoy spring pastimes. Wishing Star Park also provides the perfect opportunity for parents and kids to enjoy a scenic stroll around Wishing Star Lake where they are able to take in the park’s natural greenery. At the end of their guided tour, guests can even have the chance to pot plants which they can take home as a spring souvenir.
Celebrate Earth during Earth Month at Shanghai Disney Resort
From April 1 to 22, guests will be able to experience a series of interactive environmental and nature-based activities with a fun Disney twist. During this period Shanghai Disneyland will offer interactive explorations through the Gardens of Imagination, magical talking trash cans in Fantasyland that share tips on recycling, park times guides inspired by the “Celebrate Earth” theme, and photo locations with engaging environmental messages. During the “Celebrate Earth Spring Carnival” from April 13 to April 22, Disneytown visitors will be free to partake a variety of fun, interactive and educational activities hosted in a series of booths along the Lakeshore area.
What’s more, guests staying at the resort hotels will have the chance to experience nature-friendly additions to their stays, including environmentally themed activities in the children’s play room at Toy Story Hotel, and a refreshing morning nature walk around the flora-and-fauna-rich Wishing Star Park adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.
