Comcast Bids Against Disney for Fox with $65 Billion Offer

Comcast bids against Disney for Fox

After weeks of speculation, Comcast bids against Disney for Fox. With the hopes of stopping Disney’s pending, stock-based $52.4 billion deal with Fox, Comcast has made a higher, all-cash offer of approximately $65 billion.

It is that that this will most likely start what could be an intense battle between Comcast and Disney for the acquisition of 21st Century Fox. Fox, who’s board of directors is set to vote on the Disney deal on July 10th, will have to weigh with of the two offers is better for them.

“Time is of the essence for your consideration of our proposal,” Comcast CEO Brian Roberts wrote in a letter to Fox’s board. A statement has been filed with the SEC by Comcast in opposition of the Disney and 21st Century Fox deal. On Wednesday evening, Fox said “21st Century Fox’s board, in consultation with its outside legal counsel and financial advisors, will carefully review and consider the Comcast proposal.” No announcement has been made as to a postponement of the July 10th vote.

The assumption was that Comcast was waiting to see if AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner would be approved before making a formal offer to Fox. On June 12th the ruling came down in AT&T’s favor and probably played into Comcast’s decision to make the offer to Fox.

Comcast says it is “highly confident that our proposed transaction will obtain all necessary regulatory approvals in a timely manner and that our transaction is as or more likely to receive regulatory approval than the Disney transaction.” They have said that they are “open to working with antitrust authorities” to make changes to the deal to gain approval.

The offer by Comcast is for the movie studio 20th Century Fox, 20th Century Fox Television, Fox-owned cable networks (including FX and National Geographic), several regional sports TV networks, and the company’s stakes in international networks Sky and Star TV. A 30 percent stake in the Hulu steaming service is also included.

Fox Broadcasting, Fox News, and Fox Sports are not part of the agreement. The Disney and Fox merger calls for them to be spun off into a company called New Fox. This is also part of the Comcast deal. In the hopes of gaining favor over Disney, not only is Comcast offering the same $2.5 billion reverse breakup fee as Disney in the event that the deal is scuttled by regulators, it is going even further and offering to fund the $1.525 billion that Fox would owe Disney if it decides to abandon their deal.

Comcast and Fox were in discussion near the end of 2017 and decided to pull out of the merger discussions right before the Disney and Fox deal was made.

Universal Orlando’s Endless Summer Resort to Open August 2019 – Booking Now Available

As we previously reported, Universal Orlando’s newest resort will be called the Endless Summer Resort. The resort will actually consist of two hotels – Surfside Inn & Suites and Dockside Inn & Suites. Both hotels will be in the “value” category with rooms starting as low as $73 a night!

We are happy to report that Surfside Inn & Suites at Endless Summer Resort will open in August of 2019 with 750 rooms. OrlandoInformer.com is reporting that the first phase of Dockside Inn & Suites is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2020. The second phase will open in the third quarter of 2020. When complete, Dockside Inn & Suites will have a whopping 2050 rooms.

The Endless Summer Resort is currently being built on the former Wet & Wild Waterpark site. Even though it is a little further out than the other Universal Orlando Resorts, it is still considered an on-site property and will offer all the same amenities such as resort-wide charging privileges, Early Park Admission, and package delivery.

Disney PhotoPass Service is on hand to capture every moment of your Jedi’s training session. You can focus on watching while someone else documents. From learning to use the Force and then battling Star Wars villains, Disney PhotoPass Service is there every second.

You can take home digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken at Jedi Training at the Walt Disney World Resort in two easy ways. The Memory Maker One Day will allow you to purchase all photos from one day at the Walt Disney World Resort. These include any Disney PhotoPass photos taken during Jedi Training, character meet and greets, character dining, rides, and more. There is also the Memory Maker which can be purchased in advance for a discount. The Memory Maker gives you unlimited downloads of all of your Walt Disney World Resort photos from your whole trip.

At the Disneyland Resort, you can purchase Disney MaxPass either before or during your visit. You will be able to bring home all digital downloads of photos taken by Disney PhotoPass Service from that day.

There is also a Jedi Training Photo Print Package available for purchase if you would prefer actual photos. This package includes one 6×8 photo, four 4×6 photos, and Jedi Training Collector cards, all displayed in Star Wars packaging.

At the Walt Disney World Resort, it can be purchased in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Sid Cahuenga’s One-of-a-Kind or the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost. At Disneyland Resort, you can purchase the package in Disneyland Park at Main Street Photo Supply Co., Autopia Winner’s Circle or Star Wars Launch Bay. Play Disney Parks connects family and friends to the theme parks with exclusive experiences and unforgettable activities that interact with the surrounding environment. Although we don’t have a release date yet, we do have some new sneak peeks to share of what’s in store.

The Play Disney Parks App will be available for guests in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Guests will enjoy activities that interact with select attraction queues and games that bring favorite Disney stories to life in immersive new ways.

Digital collectibles can be earned and shared by guests when they receive themed achievements, earned for experiences both in the app and across the Disney parks.

The Disney trivia feature gives family and friends a chance to see if they have what it takes to become Disney trivia masters as they discover fun facts about their favorite theme parks.

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the incredible Disney x Target collaboration going on this Summer. We’ve been finding delightful new Mickey inspired goodies almost every week it seems! Now there is also a Mickey spa line by Junk Food available, so you can have a Disney Spa Night when ever you want!

The collection features bath bombs, bubble baths, lotions, face masks and more! I decided to grab a few items for a closer look, because I can never resist an excuse for a spa night.

I’m a sucker for bath bombs, especially unique and colorful ones! There are three different colors available, and each one has it’s own fragrance. There is a Cherry Blossom, a Coconut, and a Lemon Meringue scented Mickey bomb. Adding a bath bomb to the water makes the water silky, and helps to soften the skin. The scents are very nice, strong enough so you smell them, but not to the point where they are over powering.

As you can see in the video, they fizz really well too! I got the red and blue cherry blossom scented one, and it was fabulous.

Of course no bath is complete without bubbles! I found two different varieties of Mickey Bubble Bath. There is a Blackberry, and a Citrus Mint. I love sweet things, so I went with the blackberry scent. There is also a mini travel set that has a Cherry Blossom scented Mickey Bubble Bath available. Just like the bath bombs, these are nicely scented, and not to over powering. There are also several Mickey bath sponges available for an extra touch of Disney Magic.

There is also heavenly hand creams available. These came in three scents, each with a different colored packaging, and Mickey design. These are super creamy, with a silky texture. I decided to go with the Honey Almond, and I keep applying it just to smell it! These are also the perfect size for popping in your purse to have on the go.

Lastly, I tried the face mask! I was a little sad that the mask was just a simple and plain sheet mask, but the packaging was fun. These make a great add on if you’re putting together a Disney inspired gift basket though. There are three varieties of these, I went with the hyaluronic face mask. It was softening, but wasn’t super tingly or anything like that.

New Trailer for Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’ Has Landed

If you have been patiently waiting for Tim Burton’s “Dumbo” to hit theaters I have some great news to share. The new trailer for the movie has just dropped and I am more excited than ever! The trailer features an original recording of the iconic song “Baby Mine,” performed by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora.

The all-new grand live-action adventure “Dumbo” expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
