Strobe Light Warnings to be Added to ‘Incredibles 2’ Viewings in Theaters

There has been some chatter today about the much anticipated Incredibles 2 movie causing some distress. Apparently, the movie has several scenes with flashing lights that could pose a danger to those with epilepsy or other light-sensitive conditions. Disney is aware of this issue and has now asked all theaters to post a warning for the scenes in question.

Blogger and Twitter user Veronica Lewis (@veron4ica) seems to have initiated the warning online with a Twitter thread that has gone viral, in addition to a post to her blog, Veroniiiica.

Veronica writes that “Incredibles 2” is “filled with tons of strobe/flashing lights,” and explained that people with photosensitive epilepsy aren’t the only ones who could be affected — those who suffer from migraines, vision impairments, seizure conditions, vertigo (specifically flicker vertigo), autism, ADHD, and PTSD could also experience a reaction to the images.

“These scenes are also spread out across the movie and often come without warning. My descriptive audio device warned me about the larger scenes, but other times it was light strobe lights came out of nowhere for no reason.” she writes.

“So, the villain’s weapon of choice in the movie is bright white lights that are at a rapidly flashing/strobing frequency, with the intent to disorient people. One of these scenes lasts over 90 seconds with continuous strobe light, other scenes last anywhere from 5-30 seconds”, Veronica tweets.

“I just wish Disney/Pixar and theaters alike would issue a warning that the movie contains several scenes with strobe lights,” Veronica wrote.

She states that she “is not calling for a boycott of Incredibles 2, or to change the movie. It is very well done, and the strobe lights are an important point in the plot. I just wish Disney/Pixar and theaters alike would issue a warning that the movie contains several scenes with strobe lights”.

Hi there Chip and Co fans! Today I’m here to talk to you about runDisney Virtual Races. With my next Walt Disney World vacation just around the corner, I knew I needed to start getting in shape to be able to tackle the parks each day without being exhausted. Did you know that that the AVERAGE guest can easily walk 10 miles a day? So with that in mind, I decided to sign up for my first runDisney Virtual Race. I’ve learned a lot and I wanted to share!

As part of a runDisney Virtual Race, you can register to walk, jog or run the virtual race on your own time in the location of your choosing and receive a fancy medal for your efforts once it’s completed. This means you can participate in your neighborhood, at the park, or even on a treadmill at the gym. You can complete your race in any intervals or pace within the completion timeframe designated for each race.

Runners track their own times, and completion is based on the honor system. So no cheating! Once you complete your run, you’ll visit the finisher website to submit your results and download the certificate.

You will receive your medals in the mail within 30 days of the completing the virtual race. Medals will be shipped to the physical address you provided at the time of registration.

What Is A runDisney Virtual Race?

The event I chose is the 2018 runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Summer Series celebrating Disney•Pixar’s The Incredibles 2!

Caregiver Of Marvel Comics' Stan Lee Accused Of Elder Abuse

An investigation has been opened into elder abuse of Marvel Comics‘ Stan Lee by his caregiver. The caregiver, a memorabilia collector named Keya Morgan, has been accused of taking advantage of Mr. Lee’s hearing, vision and judgement impairments as well as moving him to an isolated location, away from his family.

A petition, filed by Tom Lallas (former attorney for Stan Lee) claims, “Petitioner, along with law enforcement and Adult Protective Services, believes that Mr. Morgan is unduly influencing Mr. Lee and isolating him.”

Keya Morgan was arrested on Monday after filing a false police report. That report came when Morgan dialed 911 claiming the house had been broken into by burglars. Those burglars were, in fact, authorities conducting a welfare check on Mr. Lee.

Stan Lee has been granted a temporary restraining order. The order protects Mr. Lee from being contacted or harassed by Morgan and that Morgan must remain at least 100 yards away from Stan Lee at all times.

Four New Hotels Will Be Built at Disney World’s New Flamingo Crossings

As we previously reported, a project over 10 years in the works, Disney World’s new Flamingo Crossings will feature 237,000 square feet, apartments, and hotels is finally getting underway. We previously covered details on the apartments that will be going into the new development. Today, we are learning about the hotels that will be coming to the complex.

Per permits filed, four new hotels will be built at Flamingo Crossings. The hotels listed on the permits are: Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, Fairfield Inn, and Residence Inn. Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites are part of the Hilton brand of hotels while Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn are part of the Marriott brand of hotels. Per the plans filed, it looks like the Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites will share a pool area. Fairfield Inn and Residence will each have their own separate pool area.

Disney World’s new Flamingo Crossings will be built in three phases. Construction on the first phase is scheduled to begin later this year.

You Have to See These Magical Disney-themed Residences in India!

Since you can’t live in Cinderella Castle, I have the next best thing to show you. A real estate developer in India, The Prestige Group, has teamed up with Disney to create Disney-themed residences. The real estate developer is located in India, so, unfortunately, at this time, all the residences are located in India.

However, if you are reading this and you do live in India, these magically-themed homes can be found in several cities across the country including Bangalore, Kochi, and Hyderabad.

One thing I love about these custom homes is that they aren’t over-the-top Disney but offer subtle elements of Disney design. While most of the residences offered are condos, I would say they can be comparable to the gorgeous homes at Golden Oaks in Walt Disney World.

Disney Games Will Feature An INCREDIBLE Update

Incredibles 2 made it’s big debut in theaters and this week but there is still more for fans to enjoy. Disney Games will also feature Incredibles inspired content including: a LEGO The Incredibles console game, Disney Emoji Blitz, and Disney Heroes: Battle Mode mobile titles, and more!

Disney Heroes: Battle Mode (June 13 – 25)

During The Incredibles Super-Charged Event, players can boost heroes from The Incredibles with extra power when they activate the daily bonus. Each day, there will be a new Hero Chip or bonus rewards deal for purchase. Earn points by using The Incredibles heroes in both City Watch and Creep Surge to get some super rewards in The Incredibles Contest. Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is available on the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon App Store.

Disney Emoji Blitz (June 15 – June 19)

A fan favorite from the Disney Games collection, is Emoji Blitz which will also receive an incredible update. Players can enjoy an Incredibles 2 Survival Event where Blitzers can play fast-paced rounds of match-3, utilizing emoji super powers and combos to win a Diamond Box. For completing the event, fans of the Parr family will be able to collect one of three Incredibles 2-inspired characters – Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl or Jack-Jack. Once the Super has been collected, players will be able to keep the emoji indefinitely and it will show up on the Emoji Blitz keyboard in smartphone messaging apps. Disney Emoji Blitz is available for free on the Apple App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store.

LEGO The Incredibles: (June 15)

Play as your favorite Incredibles characters including Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Frozone, as you venture through awe-inspiring action sequences from The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. Utilizing the Parr family’s range of extraordinary abilities, and some teamwork to create new and unique powers, players can help the Supers tackle crime in a LEGO world. LEGO The Incredibles will be available on June 15 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Disney Magic Kingdoms (Now – June 20)

Now’s your chance to collect Jack-Jack! Of course an “incredible” update to Disney Games must include Magic Kingdoms so prepare for battle! Send up to five characters at a time to challenge Maleficent’s Tower. Once the challenge is finished, characters will return with Event Points and Maleficent Coins. The Event Points will help defeat Maleficent’s Tower allowing players to claim the tiniest, power-packed member of the The Incredibles family. Disney Magic Kingdoms is available for download on the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Store.

Disney Stickers: The Incredibles (June 13)
