Pop-Up Mickey Experience Coming To Downtown Disney District

Something new is popping up at Downtown Disney District. This Spring, Disney will debut a pop-up experience dedicated to everyone’s favorite mouse, Mickey, and his beloved Minnie too!

A Mickey Celebration will transport guests through whimsical, immersive experiences to help celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday. The limited-time exhibit will provide plenty of “Insta” worthy photo-ops for you and your friends.

We’ve got a sneak peek at one of the photo-op, a huge couch shaped like Minnie’s bow! Hop on to the plush sofa and pose under the giant bows surrounding you. Don’t forget to say “cheese”!

The exhibit will be a separately ticketed event located near the Monorail Station at Downtown Disney District. Formerly the space of the ESPN Zone, tickets will be on sale soon – keep your ears open here for details.

‘Pirates’ Reboot In Jeopardy As Writers Jump-Ship

A storm is brewing for the re-launch of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, the team behind the popular Deadpool films, have bowed out of the project.

The previous ‘Pirates’ films, built around Johnny Depp‘s swashbuckling Jack Sparrow character have grossed $4.5 billion worldwide since its maiden voyage in 2003. Producer Sean Bailey cited Depp’s recent public ordeals and increasing salary had prompted them to consider a new course for the brand.

Enter Reese & Wernick, who were hired in October to re-launch the franchise and breathe new life into the series. Many fans had high hopes about the new duo at the helm. However, in recent weeks rumblings of a search for replacement options had been heard. For now, the project is in dry-dock while Disney insiders search for a team and a place to land them.

The brand has been losing steam over the last decade, with the most recent film, Dead Men Tell No Tales, taking in only $173 million domestically. We’ll have to wait and see what lies ahead for the future of the franchise.

Discover Disney Tickets are Back for Florida Residents!

Discover Disney passes are now back for Florida locals.

Florida Residents can now purchase a 3-Day Discover Disney Ticket for only $175 plus tax for a limited time ($59 per day plus tax), valid for admission to one theme park per day. Residents can also add a 4th day for just $20 more plus tax (4 days for $49 per day plus tax or $195 total plus tax). Disney World tickets can be purchased now through June 27, 2019, and Florida Residents can visit any day through June 30, 2019.

Tickets can be used anytime now through June 30, 2019 with no blockout dates. Proof of Florida residency required. Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Tickets exclude activities and events separately priced.

Updated My Disney Experience App Allows For Easier Mobile Orders

My Disney Experience has updated their app to make it easier for all to order food, in advance, from wherever you happen to be! New, colorful icons are now included in the ordering process, along with more pictures of food items.

This update also features great news for guests with dietary restrictions and food allergies. It is now easier than ever to access options that fit their needs!

There are more than 20 locations around Walt Disney World Resort that offer Mobile Ordering through the My Disney Experience App. In just a few quick steps, you can order your food through the App.

Open the app.
Tap “Order Food.”
Choose your selected, available restaurant, browse the menu and make selections.
Review your details and purchase either by credit/debit card or Disney Dining Plan.
Tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” as you arrive at the restaurant.
Pick up your oder at the “Mobile Order Pick Up” sign.
Enjoy your meal!

Mobile ordering is perfect when you’re out and about having fun, but lose track of time, only to realize you’re starving right in the middle of the lunch hour! Cookie Cupcake Has Returned To Sprinkles

Everyone loves a good cupcake and good cookies, right? Well, what happens if you can only have one dessert but cannot choose between the two? Combine them- of course!

Sprinkles has just announced that it has brought back a fan favorite cupcake flavor. I can hardly contain my excitement over this. The Cookie Cupcake is back! The Cookie Cupcake features a studded yellow cake lined with a cookie crust and topped with brown sugar frosting with cookie crumbles. This sounds like cookie heaven to me – especially the brown sugar frosting! (I can’t be the only one that loves to eat that butter/sugar mixture part of the cookie batter, right?)

First Look At Cheyenne Jackson As Hades in Descendants 3

We’re finally getting a glimpse of the newest character coming to the Descendants franchise. Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story, 30 Rock) was cast in Descendants 3 as Hades, God of the Underworld, from the animated film Hercules. Now, we are getting a look at what his character will look like in the movie.

Jackson will star as the “hot-headed” villain this summer when the movie debuts on the Disney Channel. We can see that Hades channeling an 80’s rocker look, with a punk ‘blue flame’ hairdo and studded leather jacket. I’m definitely getting a Billy Idol vibe.

When asked about his role, Jackson said, “I had no idea what a global juggernaut this movie is until I got the role. My friends with older kids freaked out when I told them. It’s incredible to be a part of this fantasy world.”

Descendants 3 was announced to fans with a teaser during the debut of the Disney Channel Movie ‘Zombies‘. In the clip, it eluded to the fact that Mal’s father will be revealed to us in the new film. Ever since fans have been scouring the internet for clues as to who the mystery (presumable villain) might be. Could it be Hades? I can’t wait to find out!

The Disney Channel Original Movie will see the return of all of your favorite ‘wicked’ characters, along with two other newcomers. Princess and the Frog villain Dr. Facilier, and his daughter Celia will be introduced to the Isle of the Lost.

Descendants 3 is now in post-production with Award-winning Kenny Ortega (“Descendants,” “High School Musical” trilogy) is the director, executive producer, and choreographer. Stay tuned for an official summer release date!

Disneyland Celebrates Mickey and Minnie with Fun New Photo Wall

Photo walls have become a popular new trend in Disney parks. Park guests are constantly looking for new areas and backdrops to post to their Instagram and Facebook pages. The Purple Wall in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World has become arguably the most popular, going so far as to inspire official hats and shirts in park stores. Disneyland isn’t one to be left out of the fun though, and they just unveiled a lively new photo wall to help celebrate Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s 90th birthday!

The new photo wall has appeared on two massive backstage doors in Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Resort. The picture spot features a happy hand-drawn scene of Mickey and Minnie carrying balloons with a “celebrate” banner and is located right next to Minnie’s House. The wall is just one of the many new offerings Disneyland is rolling out to celebrate Mickey and Minnie’s special date. The scene is sure to also be a hit with the many park guests who visit to celebrate their own special occasions. The doors were previously decorated in Minnie’s iconic red and white polka dots and it’s not known how long this new display will be up. Guests can also find Instagramable walls in the Hollywoodland area of Disney California Adventure.

Frozen 2 Trailer Breaks Viewing Records in 24 Hours

The results are in! The new trailer released for Frozen 2 has hit over 116.4 million views in just 24 hours.

Olaf, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Sven are coming to the big screen for the sequel to the original hit this November and fans lost their minds all over social media over the trailer. Even Josh Gad and Mark Ruffalo got into the action!

The trailer is intense and dark. Queen Elsa staring out at a stormy sea with a determined look. Then Elsa decides to try and ice-walk across the waves, only to falter on a few attempts. Energetic, looming music accompanies the brief glimpses of select scenes in the film. At the end we see the main characters, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven gazing out over a valley filled with trees in vibrant fall colors. Check it out here:
