“Mary Poppins Returns” is Practically Perfect for D23

It’s practically perfect in every way! The new issue of D23 The Official Disney Fan Club is here, and it’s full of Mary Poppins Returns, Ralph Beaks the Internet, and more.

The world’s most beloved nanny comes back to us in December when Mary Poppins Returns arrives in theaters, and D23 gives readers an early look at the next chapter in the lives of Mary and the Banks family. There are exclusives from the London set of the movie musical and exclusive interviews with director Rob Marshall, as well as the film’s stars, Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Plus, readers will get a look at Practically Poppins in Every Way, a stunning new book that chronicles the character on the page, in song, on the big screen, and on Broadway.

But before Mary Poppins is back in our lives, another Disney favorite is returning, when Ralph Breaks the Internet hits screens this Thanksgiving. Directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston and Vanellope herself, Sarah Silverman, guide us through the excitement Wreck-It Ralph will face in the wacky and wild World Wide Web. And the back cover of the new issue features an exclusive image created for D23 of the duo (lovingly) wrecking the Disney twenty-three logo.

With the first Mickey Mouse-themed ride-through attraction coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios next year, the Imagineers behind Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway give us new details about the exciting exploits that will await guests when they climb aboard this attraction. Plus, the creative minds behind the video game Kingdom Hearts III reveal what’s to come from the latest installment of the epic adventure, which opens up the worlds of Pixar and Frozen in spectacular ways.

And this December, D23.com will once again kick off D23 Days of Christmas, a celebration of the holidays with original stories, videos, crafts, recipes, and downloadables. The theme of this year’s seasonal celebration is the cartoon featurette Mickey’s Christmas Carol, which has its 35th anniversary this year. To kick off the fun, D23 sat down with animator Mark Henn and Disney Legend Burny Mattinson to talk about the making of the heartwarming classic. Plus, the issue offers a look at how guests can enjoy holiday magic—including unique Christmas trees delivered right to their doors at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts—as well as a photographic journey through the annual Disney Parks Christmas Parade, which has been bringing cheer to fans on ABC for three decades.

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail is Here – All the magic and spendor of the season have officially arrived at Disney Springs. The trail is open November 8, 2018 through January 6, 2019 11:00a.m. to 11:00p.m.

Start the festive journey at the play fountain located near Once Upon a Toy in the Market Place. Each beautifully decorated tree is inspired by a Disney theme or beloved character. Imagineers have created a dazzling display that provides unique photo opportunities and even a visit with the man in the red suit- Santa! A special treat on the walk, SNOW! It miraculously falls from the sky making the journey extra magical. Each turn of the trail brings smiles and you can’t help but love each tree more than the previous.

Each tree has a lantern. The lantern contains ornaments available at Days Of Christmas. A way for you to bring a piece of the Christmas Tree Trail to your very own home.

Be Sure to put your name on the list to visit Santa! You can continue to admire the glimmering lights and amazing decorations and grab a treat until your name is called. The Christmas Tree Trail is fun for the entire family!

If you have been watching the preview videos of Ralph Breaks the Internet you know that the Disney Princesses make their royal debut. The featured clips are so cute. The animation for each princess is spot on and adorable. Did you know that Vanellope was a princess too? The filmmakers for the Wreck it Ralph sequel pushed the envelope to see just how far they could go with the whole “she’s a real princess” mantra. In the clip below we see another look into one of the most anticipated scenes for the film coming to theaters November 21st, 2018.

Simba latte art is now available at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. Decorate your daily cup of joe with Simba from the Lion King at The Mara quick service restaurant located in Jambo House.

Today, I was extra tired because the weekend full of running at zero dark thirty finally caught up to me. I was thankful for the adorable caffeine fix. To decorate my latte, I chose Simba in coconut powder. You can also choose a dusting of cinnamon and/or the classic Mickey Mouse to don the top of your various coffee beverages. Once Upon a Christmastime Parade:

Christmas parade Isn’t there anything more magical than Dancing Toy Soldiers coming alive and marching down Main Street U.S.A? We don’t think so. The Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is truly a sight to behold with glittering costumes, holiday music, bright colors, favorite characters and even an appearance from the Big Guy himself (not, not Mickey… we mean Santa Claus)!!!

There are two opportunities to see this iconic holiday parade: the first at 8:30 pm and then later at 11:00 pm.

The first parade is usually the most crowded, and we recommend finding a spot 45 minutes in advance for the early parade and 25-30 minutes in advance for the later parade (allow more time on nights that the party is sold out). The least crowded location to catch the parade is in Frontierland. For the Boo to You Parade during the Halloween party, this is our preferred viewing location but during the Christmas parade, there’s nothing like watching it right from Main Street U.S.A. Snow gently falls and the idyllic setting of Main Street creates the perfect backdrop to the parade. We highly recommend a spot here if you can find one.

Entertainment:
Most Merry This year more fun shows than ever take the stage during the party and you won’t want to miss any of them.

Frozen Holiday Wish– Unlike the other entertainment on this list, you can catch this endearing show about family and togetherness even on regular park days. During party days, however, you can watch as Elsa transforms Cinderella Castle into a glittering ice palace at 6:15 and 8:00 pm.

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration– Mickey is having a party and we are all invited! Join him as he celebrates the season by throwing a party for all of his best pals. Delight in treasured Christmas favorite carols and experience new songs to ring in the season! There may even be a winter surprise in store! See this magical show that will sure to become a Christmas tradition in your family at 7:40pm, 9:25pm, 10:30pm, 11:55pm on the Castle stage.

The Edge Effect– An accapella group preforming livley Christmas tunes. See them on the Rockettower Plaza Stage at 8:10pm, 9pm, 10:20pm, 11:10pm

A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas– This far out show, hosted by Haley Comet, brings the galaxy together for holiday cheer. Haley is joined by none other than Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wozowski, and everybody’s favorite alien, Stitch for an out of this world rocking time! This show remains popular with the youngest if your group and is definitely one you’ll want to check out if traveling with little ones catch it on the Rockettower Plaza Stage 7:45pm, 8:35pm, 9:25pm, 10:45pm, 11:35pm

The Reindeer Wranglers– A musical act putting a Country Western spin on classic Christmas favorites – 7:15pm, 8:05pm, 9:30pm, 10:30pm, 11:45pm in Frontierland

Club Tinsel– Dust off those dancing shoes and head on over to Cosmic Rays for a family-friendly dance party with some real jingle! Join a cast of Holiday characters and boogie the night away to some of your favorite holiday tunes! This is a continuous event from 7pm to 12am

Rides:
Jingle cruise Many of your favorite rides and attractions are open for the party and one of our favorite aspects of the holiday parties is that the lower crowds mean lower lines. FastPass is not available during the party but the good news is you’re not likely to need it. This is a perfect time to check out one of our favorite Christmas Traditions- The Jingle Cruise- all if the usual fun of the beloved classic Jungle Cruise with a holly jolly twist! Holiday Wishes:
See a spectacular show in the sky full of Christmas cheer and Disney Magic! This dazzling fireworks display lights up the night with a glittering castle as it’s centerpiece. In true Disney fashion, all of the amazing pyrotechnics are perfectly timed to beloved Christmas Songs and Disney favorites! This show is truly a delight. Make sure not to miss it, you’ll want to stake your spot out early. The show begins at 10:00 pm. We recommend that you grab a holiday-themed treat and claim your spot at least 45 minutes in advance.

Magic Shots:
Photopass photographers throughout the park will be on hand to add a bit more merry magic to your party photos. Specifics on what magic shots will be offered are not yet available but we will be sure to update you when they are!

Christmas party Are you as excited for Mickeys Very Mery Christmas Party as we are? The party begins on Thursday November 8 and runs through December 2018 on select nights.
