New Mickey Milkshake Springs into Magic Kingdom for May

New for May Disney has released a new yummy Mickey Milkshake at Auntie Gravity’s in the Magic Kingdom.

The strawberry milkshake topped with yellow cotton candy and a Mickey marshmallow straw tasted just like strawberry Quik. If you are not a fan of that drink you would not like this milkshake. The cotton candy on the top was a nice treat but can be very sticky especially in the Florida humidity.

Also available is the decadent chocolate milkshake topped with an adorable Mickey Marshmallow. The chocolate on chocolate works very well and wasn’t too thick.

Honestly, I think the highlight of both shakes is the Mickey Marshmellow. Disney needs to sell those in like a pack of 6 to take home cause I would definitely buy for the ride home.

The Mickey Milkshake will be available from May 1st through June 30th.

Grand Opening of TODAY Cafe in Universal Studios Florida

The TODAY Cafe is opening at Universal Studios Florida!

The official grand opening for the TODAY Cafe in Universal Studios Florida will take place on Thursday. May 16th. This new dining location is designed to feel like you are stepping onto the memorable TODAY set.

The cafe will serve special food and beverage options like in-house baked pastries, salads, sandwiches, and locally-roasted coffee like the TODAY Cafe blend coffee.

NBC’s Al Roker and the TODAY cast will broadcast live from the new TODAY Cafe on May 16th to celebrate the grand opening with guests and fans around the world.

Also, Al’s Avocado Toast will be available on opening day at the TODAY Cafe. This dish is made up of cherry tomatoes, artichokes, roasted red onions, and tomato aioli with a side of bread and butter pickles.

According to Al, this breakfast will help diners power through their day with this hearty and healthy dish. He also adds that the pickles add a nice umami and sweetness to the dish.

To prepare for the official grand opening, the TODAY Cafe is currently open at limited times on an unschedules basis. This allows guests to enjoy a few menu items for breakfast and lunch before May 16th.

New Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Of Hollywood Studios MagicBands

Happy May First, or should I say Happy 30th Anniversary Hollywood Studios! There are so many great ways to celebrate this grand occasion from speciality merchandise, to treats, and events. There are even two Limited Edition Hollywood Studios MagicBands!

Both bands are limited edition, and retail for $34.99. One is an Annual Passholder exclusive though, so lucky!

The regular limited edition MagicBand for the anniversary is a deep navy blue, and features the character film reel design we’ve been seeing on lots of the new merchandise. This design is very colorful and features Mickey and lots of stars. It comes packaged in a colorful specialty box that also has the fabulous character film reel, and has a limited edition of 2,000.

We already got a sneak peek of the Annual Passholder exclusive band, but it is so fantastic! It features the other film reel design that we saw on the AP merchandise. This band is a brighter blue, and says “Annual Passholder” on it. The box is a collectors box with the Mickey Mouse 30 years artwork. The Annual Passholder version has a limited release of just 1,000.

The new limited edition Hollywood Studios MagicBands are a great way to unlock the magic of Walt Disney World while celebrating the Park’s 30th anniversary! These are very limited edition though, and won’t be around for long!

New Nighttime Projection Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Today Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 30^thAnniversary in a grand style befitting the glamorous Walt Disney World Resort theme park. The day began with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse leading a cavalcade of Disney characters down Hollywood Boulevard, followed by the introduction of a new logo for the park, and then will conclude tonight with the debut of a new projection show on the iconic Chinese Theatre.

In addition, the park unveiled a collection of merchandise, food and drinks commemorating the occasion, and guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Wednesday receive a special 30^th anniversary button, map and poster (while supplies last).

The park’s past, present and exciting future are recurring themes on this special day. It was May 1, 1989, when Hollywood celebrities walked the grand-opening red carpet. The park has evolved since those early days, when it was a fully functioning television and movie production studio providing a peek behind the scenes at movie making magic. Disney’s Hollywood Studios today brings more stories to life in new ways, inviting guests to let their own adventures begin in immersive new worlds.

A bevy of new and upcoming experiences anchor a park undergoing a historic transformation, including the recently opened Toy Story Land, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, An Incredible Celebration on Pixar Place, and Disney Junior Dance Party! On Aug. 29, 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will allow guests to live their own Star Wars adventures in a new, 14-acre immersive land, followed in spring 2020 by the planned opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first ride-through attraction in Disney Parks history to feature Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

For the park’s 30^th anniversary celebration, Disney lifted the curtain on an array of special experiences, merchandise, culinary delights and more:

In a special ceremony Wednesday morning, “A 30^th Anniversary Star-Studded Celebration” rolled down Hollywood Boulevard, fittingly led by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. In addition to those true originals, the parade featured beloved characters found throughout the park, including Indiana Jones, Belle and the Beast, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, and more.
The star-studded cavalcade closed with a ceremony revealing the park’s new logo, which emphasizes the transformation Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undertaking.
The evening of May 1 heralds the premiere of “Wonderful World of Animation,” a new show projected onto the Chinese Theatre. This journey through 90-plus years of Disney and Pixar animated films will include blasts from the past and rarely seen characters, as well as new favorites and classic stories. Each night, this delightful new show will lead into the popular “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.”
Milestone-minded guests can stock up on commemorative merchandise including trading pins, tumblers, apparel, ornaments and MagicBands (available while supplies last).
In honor of the park’s 30^th anniversary, guests for a limited time can indulge in specially themed cocktails as well as sweets including Incredibles Macarons, Kylo Ren Cupcakes and Lightsaber Churros.
The park also announced enhancements coming to Toy Story Land. A new table-service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, will make guests feel like honorary toys in a Western-themed play set created from a colorful mash-up of fun, oversized toys and cardboard boxes. And in celebration of the June debut of Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” a pop-up merchandise location will be opening soon at the exit of Toy Story Mania!, featuring a variety of products commemorating the new film.
