Hooray, hooray the first of May – time for a new Burger of the Month from The Edison at Disney Springs. This month, it’s the “BBQ Tavern Burger”.

Edison’s signature blend of sirloin, short rib and brisket are blended into a flavorful burger patty. This burger is topped with crispy potato wedges, juicy bacon, lettuce, and tomato. All this is served up on a toasted brioche roll. Yum!

Stop into the Edison for this burger, being served up fresh all month long. While you’re there, be sure to check out their specialty cocktail the “Almond Crusta”. This special drink combines Martell Blue Swift cognac, Tanqueray #10 gin, lemon juice, orgeat syrup, and Angostura bitters.

The Edison is one of Disney Springs newest eateries, located in The Landing. Open for lunch and dinner, the contemporary American menu combines with an industrial gothic style to create a unique experience for visitors. Introducing the Tex Mex Burger, featuring Certified Angus Beef, Poblano pepper hash, corn esquite, garlic aioli and Asadero cheese on a toasted brioche bun. This burger perfectly matches the heat and flare for the start of summer!

Let’s not forget about the side! Paired with the Tex Mex Burger are the Uva garlic fries. Can you say YUM?!

To wash it all down make sure you try the beer pairing of Chihuahua Rico Cerveza. It’s so smooth and really plays off the tex mex theme as a Mexican style lager with just enough malt to pack a punch.

D23 Summer 2019 exclusive Galaxy’s Edge and Lion King images

In just a few weeks, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open to guests at Disneyland Resort, and Disney twenty-three had the chance to go behind the scenes to provide fans with a look at the spectacular 14-acre land. The exclusive photos were so breathtaking that D23 expanded this issue to showcase even more of the Black Spire Outpost, with three rich stories that feature exclusive interviews with the Imagineers behind the epic project.

Readers will get the lay of the land in the story “A Galaxy Not So Far Away,” explores the two groundbreaking attractions in “Shift Your Setting to Thrill!,” and get swept up in the immersive environments and new technologies in “Living on the Edge.”

In addition to the cover featuring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the summer issue, exclusively for Gold Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club , has a second, striking cover featuring young Simba from director Jon Favreau’s reimagining of The Lion King, which opens this July.

Toy Story 4 Press Day at Pixar Studios Day 1

We were invited to take part in the press 2 day event for Toy Story 4 in Pixar Studios earlier this month. The entire event was a fantastic time that I thoroughly enjoyed. Take a look while I bring it all to you here!(Or at least what I am allowed to share)

Pixar Studios is located in Emeryville, CA. The first thing we were allowed to do was take pictures with the Luxo Ball and Luxo Lamp Jr. located right outside the Steve Jobs Building. From there we checked into the theater to get ready for the day.

The film Director Josh Cooley, together with Producers Jonas Rivera & Mark Nielsen let us know we were about to see the first 20 minutes of the movie! I can tell you that every second was perfect and I. cannot wait to see the movie in its entirety. After the screening, we were led upstairs for food and some drinks. The walls were adorned with frames from the movie. Seeing all the characters I’ve known to love with new characters that I know I will love made me feel like a little kid again. Our dinner had the Toy Story theme incorporated in it, and it was delicious.

There was also a Toy Story 4 marquee where I got a chance to have my picture taken. After dinner, we were shuttled back to our hotel.

New Paint Job for Tomorrowland Speedway!

The Tomorrowland Speedway is currently closed for refurbishment at Magic Kingdom, but a lot of great work is happening every day. Just this week, multiple areas of the Tomorrowland Speedway got an updated teal paint job! The teal really pops against the Florida sun.

The ride is currently closed to accommodate the new TRON Coaster. The Tomorrowland Speedway track will be shortened and reconfigured around the new ride.

This classic attraction has been around since the park’s opening in 1971 and, when it re-opens, will no doubt continue to be a family favorite. Riders will be zipping around the new, colorful track soon!

Sparkling New Rainbow Mickey Tumblers At Hollywood Studios

Get ready to sparkle and shine while you sip your favorite beverage! New Rainbow Mickey Tumblers have been spotted at Hollywood Studios, and they are fantastic! These are a gorgeous update to the rainbow sippers we saw during Pride last year, and personally I will never say no to rainbows.

The rainbow design on these are wavy, which gives a fun whimsical feel to the tumbler. Mickey’s silhouette strikes an iconic pose on the front, with the Walt Disney World logo written across in white. This is a bold rainbow, with bright and vivid colors. They are also REALLY sparkly! The glitter is inside the double-wall though, so you don’t have to worry about glitter fallout.

The top of the rainbow cup is red, and tapers seamlessly into the lid too. It also features a slider top to prevent splashing and spillage.

These are made for hot or cold beverages, so you can start your day off with rainbows and coffee, or stay hydrated throughout the day with rainbows and ice cold refreshments, but hey why not both?

Get Ready for the Rapunzel Eclair!

An adorable, sweet treat is coming to Disney’s Magic Kingdom next week! On May 9^th, the Rapunzel éclair will make its debut at Pinocchio Village Haus.

The éclair is designed after the princess’s signature long blonde braid. The pastry is filled with dulce de leche and covered in white chocolate cream. Sugar flowers dot the top. And, of course, there’s a chocolate frying pan to complete the éclair.

If you aren’t an éclair person, there’s a lot of opportunities to channel your inner Rapunzel. Try the Tangled Cupcake at All-Star Resort or the Lost Princess Cone at Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom!

New Treats Coming to Magic Kingdom in May

Calling all foodies! Disney is releasing a TON of new treats next month at the Magic Kingdom!

First off, the Disney culinary teams have been working diligently to offer a new guide to Plant-Based Cuisine at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. All vegetarian and vegan-friendly offerings in the park have been compiled into this super-helpful guide! You can find this guide at most food and beverage locations and at Guest Relations.

Next, let’s move into some dessert choices! These sweet treats will only be offered until the end of June 2019 so get them while you can!

Mickey Celebration Donut – This yeast donut with your choice of strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate frosting with sprinkles can be found at The Lunching Pad on May 9th.

Tangled Eclair – Also on May 9th, you can enjoy this dulce de leche eclair topped with white chocolate cream, sugar flowers, and a chocolate frying pan at Pinocchio Village Haus.

Wish Granted Donut – Find this gold sugar-coated donut on May 1st at Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Minnie’s Cookie Dough Sundae – This sundae consists of soft-serve ice cream topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, edible cookie dough, and a chocolate Minnie bow. This can be found at Storybook Treats on May 9th too!

Celebration Brownie – Head on over to Casey’s Corner on May 1st for a brownie topped with buttercream icing and a chocolate piece featuring Mickey.

Mickey Milkshake – Devour this strawberry milkshake topped with yellow cotton candy and a Mickey marshmallow straw at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies on May 1st – June 30th.

Mickey’s Push Pop – Lastly, head on over to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Golden Oak Outpost, Columbia Harbour House, or Friar’s Nook for this birthday cake layered with confetti sprinkles and buttercream starting on May 1st.

New Wish Granted Donut in Magic Kingdom

Secretly, Aladdin had a fourth wish from the Genie. He wished for a delicious concoction – and the Wish Granted Donut was born!

But wait, there’s a catch! You will have to wait until tomorrow to try this new pastry. The Wish Granted Donut will be available at Sunshine Tree Terrace in the Magic Kingdom.

This treat is made up of a classic white donut glazed with vanilla frosting and shining, shimmering, splendid golden sugar crystals. You can also find the Genie’s magic lamp made of chocolate surrounded by a blue “cloud” of cotton candy smoke on top.

We are still waiting on a price to be released for this deletable delight. Make sure to fly over to Adventureland on a Magic Carpet Ride because the Wish Granted Donut is available for a limited time only! This donut is only around until June 30th before it poof disappears!

The Wish Granted Donut is released just in time for the release of the Disney’s new, live-action “Aladdin”. You can check out the film in theaters on May 24th.

Celebrating May The 4th at Disneyland Paris!

This year Disneyland Paris is celebrating May the 4th! Discoveryland will be transformed into an intergalactic hub full of numerous experiences, meet and greets as well as a variety of ways to celebrate this special day!

Entertainment

Guests from all planets can choose their side between the First Order or the Resistance in the Beta arcade at Videopolis with face painting by makeup artists!

Outside of Videopolis, guests can experience the one-of-a-kind meet & greet with the famous droid R2-D2! After this, why not strike a pose with the beloved Chewie at his meet & greet at an exclusive 3D photo location on the planet Hoth! Following this, why not visit the legendary Star Traders to purchase an assortment of Star Wars merchandise.

Finally, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and Hyperspace Mountain will propel you to a galaxy far far away.

Costume and Rules

Disneyland Paris is inviting guests to wear a Star Wars-themed costume for this event but only for the day and evening of May 4th. However, Disneyland Paris has released a statement to say they “reserve the right, at our discretion and at any time, to refuse to wear certain costumes such as completely masking the face and head and / or if we consider that these costumes/accessories/ make-up are likely to offend the sensitivity of the youngest and of a family audience. The same is true of the wearing of accessories considered as having the potential to impact security in our attractions or as dangerous to other visitors (long capes, sticks, fake weapons, …). As a reminder, according to the Disney Park Rules, it is forbidden to introduce in our Disney Parks the following objects:

· Any type of object or toy that looks like a firearm (pistol, laser, water pistol, etc.)

· Any mask worn by Visitors aged 12 and over (except for medical reasons)

· Anything on the ground”

So for guests attending this event and wanting to dress in costume, please read the rules carefully so it will not affect your enjoyment when celebrating May the 4th!

Special ‘Star Wars Day’ Celebrations Coming to Disneyland for May the 4th. Guests visiting Disneyland Resort will get the chance to celebrate May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, in a unique way this year.

Disneyland Resort will partially transform into a world from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Here are some of the special ways to celebrate Star Wars across Disneyland Resort:

Hyperspace Mountain is returning for a limited time, the popular Star Wars-themed overlay to Space Mountain will have you jumping to light speed in no time!
Captain Phasma and a small legion of Stormtroopers will march through Tomorrowland in an incredible display of Force in March of the First Order.
Whether you’re a member of theFirst Order or the Resistance, grab a friend and snap a picture at a special photo opportunity available in Starcade.
Galactic Grill and Alien Pizza Planet are serving up Star Wars-inspired snacks! Grab a Dark Side Chicken Sandwich or Outer Rim Pasta. To mark the special occasion you can get a novelty stein, sipper or popcorn bucket inspired by Star Wars icons.
Grab a souvenir from Star Trader or Launch Bay, such as a t-shirt, hat or limited-edition pin!

This is a great way to celebrate all things Star Wars before the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, opening on May 31st at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Toy Story 4 Pixar Studios Press Event

We were invited to the Pixar Studios to get a behind the scenes look at the new Toy Story 4 movie coming to the big screen in just a few weeks. It was an incredible experience that I will not soon forget.

Our second day in Pixar Studios was a full day of intense informational meetings about Toy Story including its evolution. Starting off with Bob Pauley (Production Designer) and Bill Reeves (Global Technology Supervisor) presenting an in-depth look of the original Toy Story which began in 1995. Bill mentioned that in order to perfect their craft, they mostly started with Pixar shorts. They pitched the story to Disney in 1991 and at that time Buzz was originally called Lunar Larry. Their pitch worked and Disney agreed to fund the film. It became the classic buddy movie we all know now with Buzz, Woody, and whole toy gang.

We were also introduced to a lot of new characters popping up in Toy Story 4. Each one was carefully designed and put together.

First is the newest and most neurotic character, Forky who refuses to believe he is a toy. Tony Hale is providing his voice. Gabby Gabby who is an adorable pull string doll from the 1950’s is being voiced by Christina Hendricks. Ducky and Bunny, who are both carnival prizes, are just eagerly waiting to be won. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, respectively, lends their voices to these characters. Giggle McDimples is Bo Peep’s best friend and is voiced by Ally Maki. Duke Caboom, who is Canada’s greatest stuntman, is voiced by another Canadian – Keanu Reeves. There is also Benson, an antique ventriloquist dummy, who acts as Gabby Gabby’s right hand. Producer Mark Nielson said, “The dummies are, by far, some of the creepiest characters we’ve ever created.”

Claudio De Oliveira presents details about the creation of the character Forky, as seen on the Toy Story 4 Long Lead Press Day, where we made our own version of Forky.

Toy Story 4 also features a comeback by one of the characters after 20 years – Bo Peep. We were also shown how she was redesigned and how they created her new look, This panel included Story Supervisor Valerie LaPoint, Story Artist Carrie Hobson, Characters Modeling Artist Mara MacMahon, Directing Animators Patty Kihm & Becki Tower and Character Modeling Artist Tanja Krampfert. I had the opportunity to take a picture of these amazing ladies with the classic Bo Peep Funko I brought with me.

We were given the opportunity to shop in the Pixar Studios Employee store which has a lot of exclusive items. The day was really full of information about the upcoming movie. I, for one, cannot wait to watch it. Here at Chip & Co, we will be giving you a no spoiler review one the movie comes out.
