Is Disney working on a Live Action Aladdin 2?

Is Disney working on a Live Action Aladdin 2?

With the Box Office success of Disney’s Live-Action Aladdin bringing in over 900 Million Dollars it is no surprise that they would want to continue the franchise with a sequel to this popular film.

According to We Got this Covered Disney is developing an Aladdin 2 with the storyline following close to the Return of Jafar, the follow up to Aladdin back in 1994.

Nothing has been officially announced by Disney and production hasn’t even started on the film. So treat this as gossip for now…

Many of the animated classics all have 2nd, 3rd and even 4th movies that were produced and I am not really sure if box office numbers were stellar for the initial Live Action release that we would see sequels to those films as there are many more classics that Disney still needs to reproduce first.

Are you a fan of all the Live Action Movie releases? Let us know in the comment box below.

Marvel Hosting Auction for Props and Costumes From Cancelled Netflix Shows

Marvel Hosting Auction for Props and Costumes From Cancelled Netflix Shows

Marvel Hosting Auction for Props and Costumes From Cancelled Netflix Shows. The items up for auction come from Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Daredevil, and Marvel’s Iron Fist. Marvel Television’s Live Auction will be hosted by PropStore.com this August.

Marvel Hosting Auction for Props and Costumes From Cancelled Netflix Shows

VP of Original Programming and Creative for Marvel Television, Tom Lieber wrote this letter in regards to the Marvel Television Live Auction, set to take place over several days this August:

“This auction is a celebration of three amazing series: Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Marvel’s Iron Fist. These series occupy a unique corner of the Marvel Universe. Unlike the Marvel features, which involve incredible intergalactic threats and apocalyptic global stakes, these series focused on dangers facing the neighborhood. Matt Murdock protected the people of Hell’s Kitchen. Luke Cage was the Hero of Harlem. Danny Rand made Chinatown his home base. These heroes kept the streets safe.

By embracing the mature struggles and grounded stories of these heroes, our hope was that long-time fans of these characters would be thrilled to see the gritty, street-level part of the Marvel Universe come to life. The fans’ passion for these series was beyond anything we could have imagined.

From packed convention halls to “breaking” Netflix, the Marvel street-level heroes proudly defended the gritty streets of New York City, all thanks to our fans.

As you look through this catalog, please keep in mind that the series shared New York as a setting (and a production center), but each also all had its own unique identity. Marvel’s Daredevil lived in the inky shadows and rich amber lighting of New York’s sodium streetlights; Marvel’s Luke Cage embraced the vibrancy and life of Harlem; and Marvel’s Iron Fist went from the heights of corporate America to the heights of hidden Himalayan cities. Each series, each piece of wardrobe, and each prop existed within the larger Marvel Universe, but also was created specifically for that series. The shows were unified but distinct.

By studying the props, costumes, and set decoration that appear as part of this auction, we hope you gain a greater appreciation for the ways we bridged the comic book history of these characters with the live action universe. Items from the comic books like Daredevil’s billy clubs, Elektra’s sais, Luke’s hoodies, and Colleen’s katana were all masterfully built by skilled craftsmen and craftswomen. A special “thank you” must be given to Production Designers Loren Weeks, Scott Murphy, Adam Scher, Toni Barton, and Patrick Howe, Prop Masters Peter Gelfman, Jerry DeRogatis, Kevin Ladson, Natalie Dorset, and Michael Jortner, and Costume Designers Stephanie Maslansky, Lorraine Calvert, and Liz Vastola. From the art deco cocktail coasters at Harlem’s Paradise to the unique wall decorations of the K’un- Lun dormitories, this corner of the Marvel universe was brilliantly brought to life by amazing artists – and now a piece of it can be yours.

Whether you snag a hero’s costume, a key piece of set decoration, or a signature prop from your favorite character, we hope that it will bring you joy and a warm reminder of how special these Marvel series were, and will continue to be.”

Professor Hubert Zitt, from the Zweibrücken University of Applied Sciences in Germany is known by his students and colleagues for his lectures on Star Trek and Star Wars. Professor Zitt gathered a small team and transformed the Zweibrück Observatory of the Natural Science Association into a likeness of R2-D2 from Star Wars.

Hubert was aided by his father-in-law Horst Helle, master painter Klaus Ruffing, and some students from the university volunteered their time to help create this masterpiece in the German countryside.

Though this was no easy feat, this is not the first observatory that has been transformed into the famed droid. Goodsell Observatory at Carleton College in Minnesota was designed as R2-D2 back in 2010.

Walt Disney World's Riviera Resort

If you’ve ever wondered how to pull off the perfect New Year’s Eve, look no further than Walt Disney World’s newest resort: the Disney Riviera Resort. It has been announced that 2020 will be brought in by a spectacular event, “Mezzanotte at Topolino’s: An Italian Masquerade.”

The event will be held at Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, the fine restaurant perched atop the resort. This will allow guests to enjoy stunning views of the dazzling midnight fireworks at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, all from the relaxing atmosphere on the terrace.

Disney foodies will want to know that the $550 price tag includes a European-style buffet, offering seafood, pasta, French and Italian imported charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, European desserts, as well as food stations, tapas, and much more. Guests will be entertained by a variety of performers and a DJ throughout the evening.

Disney Vacation Club members will be able to register for the event starting on July 16th, while the general public can book as of July 18th. The event will run from 8 PM to 12:15 AM, with check-in beginning at 7:30 PM that night.

This celebration is formal, and guests will be expected to dress accordingly. Men should wear slacks or dress pants, along with a collared shirt. The Riviera was well-named as they are making every effort to give you an evening in Europe, and a New Year celebration that stands out from the rest. To make your reservation, call (800) 800-9800.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is transformed with new arrival experience, restaurants, amenities and modern flair

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is transformed with new arrival experience, restaurants, amenities and modern flair

Celebrating the rich cultures and vibrant landscapes of Spain, Mexico and the American Southwest through contemporary design and Old World traditions, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort shines with renewed luster. On July 9, 2019, the resort will complete a multiyear re-imagining focused on today’s travelers, marking the official debut of a new tower, new restaurants, and a new arrival experience.

The new Gran Destino Tower rises dramatically on the southeastern shores of Lago Dorado (“Golden Lake”), the resort’s 22-acre lake. The tower – opening to the public July 9 – offers 545 modern guest rooms (including 50 suites and club-level services), a grand two-story lobby, new meeting venues, and a rooftop restaurant and lounge with spectacular views. The distinctive tower becomes the stylish new gateway to the 2,385-room resort.

Gran Destino Tower takes its name from the classic Disney film “Destino.” Drawing inspiration from the surrealist animated short, the tower is a whimsical, magnificent visual feast, diverse in its design and execution. The tower’s outdoor Destino Plaza are also ideal for weddings, business receptions or other special events.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is transformed with new arrival experience, restaurants, amenities and modern flair

Past its grand entrance and signature ribbon-patterned design that climbs up the side of Gran Destino Tower, guests step into a stunning lobby – an homage to the Catalan Modernism style. On their way to check in, new arrivals pass intricate wooden screens with rows of beautiful Moorish hanging lanterns, while decorative bronze screens inspired by Spanish tile patterns accent the rear wall of the lobby.

The warm colors and patterns of Barcelona inspire the sun-filled Barcelona Lounge on the lobby’s lower level, offering plenty of casual seating and lake views. Beneath a magnificent chandelier framed by sculpted plaster columns, guests can enjoy coffee in the morning and cocktails as the day progresses.

The Catalan theme extends to the tower’s stylish new guest rooms and suites. A wall covering in each room is inspired by Spanish tile medallions, adding an Old World touch to a contemporary design. The new tower also offers club-access rooms for guests who want to enjoy the benefits of the Chronos Club. The club boasts commanding views of Walt Disney World Resort and cast members who can assist with vacation planning. Light refreshments are available throughout the day.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is transformed with new arrival experience, restaurants, amenities and modern flair

Each tower guest room also offers a new interactive television system that provides a more customized and Disney differentiated in-room experience. This new television system will enhance the guest experience with Disney-quality services, content and personalization. For example, guests can view their Disney PhotoPass images on the large screen and stream their entertainment services from their personal devices to the in-room television.

Gran Destino Tower is crowned by dramatic rooftop dining locations, Tolédo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood and Dahlia Lounge, offering breathtaking views of Walt Disney World from the tower’s 16th floor. Named for the storied Spanish city home to avant-garde writers and artists of the 1920s and ’30s, Tolédo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood is a table-service dining experience. The Spanish-inspired menu features entrees like chuletón, a 32-ounce, Spanish-style ribeye for two, as well as sustainable seafood and classic Spanish sides. It’s all served in a setting that features live olive trees, vibrant colors and an intricate vaulted ceiling with stained-glass accents. There’s also an onstage tapas kitchen inspired by the flavors of Spain, specializing in small plates, charcuteríá and cheeses.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is transformed with new arrival experience, restaurants, amenities and modern flair

The adjacent Dahlia Lounge takes its mesmerizing shapes and swirling patterns from Spanish Modernism, inviting guests into an intimate, artful space where they can enjoy signature cocktails and panoramic views.

As part of the broader re-imagining of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, three new pedestrian bridges now extend across Lago Dorado, allowing for quick and convenient passage to and from all parts of the resort. In the middle of the lake at the nexus of these new pathways is Villa del Lago (“Lake Villa”), home to a new outdoor restaurant, Three Bridges Bar & Grill. The open-air, waterfront dining location offers delicious entrees and shareables, along with refreshing cocktails and signature sangria pitchers. Three Bridges Bar & Grill features a rustic, Old World charm anchored by a large stone hearth behind the central bar.

These new experiences complement the wide array of amenities and experiences at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, including floating gardens, scenic nature trails and palm-shaped courtyards. Throughout the resort, guests can enjoy a diverse collection of dining options, including:

  • Maya Grill – A grand Mexican dining room featuring ancient-modern styling and Nuevo Latino cuisines.
  • Rix Sports Bar & Grill – A stylish establishment with a unique spin on classic bar food.
  • El Mercado de Coronado – A food court filled with kitchens serving made-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a wide array of options so there’s something for everyone.
  • Café Rix – A charming grab-and-go location offering pastries, coffee and tasty snacks.
  • Laguna Bar – A breezy lakeside lounge boasting signature cocktails.
  • Siestas Cantina – A poolside hideaway to unwind with refreshing beverages and snacks.

Shoppers can delight in an updated Panchito’s merchandise location. Named after one of the main characters from the Disney film “The Three Caballeros,” Panchito’s resembles an open-air Mexican market.

The Dig Site – a sprawling pool complex with a Mayan-ruins theme – is fed by water cascading dramatically down a Mayan pyramid and features a water slide that evokes the spirit animal of a jaguar. The Dig Site can be accessed via the new bridges over Lago Dorado.

All existing guest rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort were updated with new fixtures, furnishings and lighting. Guest feedback helped shape the room remodel that introduced an expansive desk space, hard-surface floors, platform beds and more. In addition, a fresh, sophisticated new color palette ties together the entire resort experience.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is now a celebration of Spanish, Mexican and American Southwest cultures, infused with a profound respect for the natural world – most notably water. These design motifs span centuries to form a common thread that connects the new with the newly re-imagined.

Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance Not Opening In Disneyland Until 2020

Big news broke yesterday regarding Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts. It was announced that the highly anticipated second ride “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” would be opening this December at the Walt Disney World Resort. The shock, however, was that this highly sought after ride wouldn’t be opening in Disneyland until January 17, 2020. That’s over a month after Walt Disney World will get it.

Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge has been open since May 31st. The first ride “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” opened when the immersive new land debuted. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge isn’t set to open in Walt Disney World until August 29th.

After “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” opens on December 5th in Disney World the Imagineers will head back to finish the ride at the original park. This ride is said to “blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. ” It goes on go state that “guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.” Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” sounds like the rush we’ve been waiting for.

Whichever coast you’ll be visiting, “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” is sure to be an amazing new addition. Are you surprised it’ll be opening at the Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World first?
