The Best New Eats of The Summer at Walt Disney World Resort

Cookie Dough

Cookie Dough

Summer always brings some fun new treats to Disney, as you might have seen all the new specialty icecreams lately. In addition to those Disney is stepping up their game with some fun new treats and eat for a variety of diets. From Epcot to All-Star Music with a plant-based treat and new bites all over Disney Springs you will be sure to find something new and tasty to try.

Coral Reef

Epcot is celebrating its grand opening of Takumi-Tei the new upscale dining option in Japan. Also over in Epcot The Coral Reef Restaurant is sure to delight with its new menu additions. How about a Lobster Seafood Boil! I cannot think of summer without thinking of having a boil being from New England and all. The Shrimp, mussels, Jonah crab claws, Andouille sausage, corn, potatoes, and of course, the lobster, all covered in butter and seasoned broth is the quintessential summertime feast. If that doesn’t entice you enough they also have a new pound worth of Maryland-style Snow Crab legs accompanied by butter and lemon.  Or perhaps the new Swordfish dish with a warm white bean arugula salad with roasted Cipollini onions and topped with a lemon-herb vinaigrette might be more to your liking. Make sure you save room for dessert with the new seasonal offering, the shortbread cookie cheesecake with a fruit compote.  If you intend to dine at one of these locations it would be best to make a reservation ahead of time.

Churros

Disney Springs is welcoming some new eats and treats as well, with the newest food carts; the Sunshine Churro Carts which will be popping up later on this month. These gourmet churros come in a wide variety of flavors. Everything from salted caramel, strawberry cheesecake, cookies and cream, watermelon, fruity cereal churros, to chocolate-dipped or even chocolate hazelnut dipped churros.

If you are looking for more savory food options there is a new pepperoni pizza burger at D-Luxe Burger, yes you read that right. If you love pizza and burgers it is the perfect pairing for you. With fried mozzarella covered in Pomodoro sauce, and pepperonis on top of a big juicy burger! For those that want something sweet and salty head over to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar for the “Temple of Bacon”, it is thick-cut applewood smoked bacon hand-dipped in a milk chocolate ganache with chipotle that is made at the Ganachery.

Disney Springs Food

Also, a new addition to Disney Springs that is sure to be a hit is the new “Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet” food truck! The menu of edible cookie dough includes,

Cookie Dough

  • “Springs Candy Taco – Candy Monster Cookie Dough, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry served in a waffle taco
  • Minnie Mouse Taco – Peanut Butter Fluff Cookie Dough, caramel sauce, whipped cream, a cherry, and a chocolate Minnie bow served in a waffle taco
  • Celebration Parfait – Celebration Cookie Dough with Celebration Mickey cake, vanilla custard, strawberries, whipped cream, and a cherry
  • Mickey or Minnie Funnel Cake – funnel cake topped with powdered sugar and Mickey or Minnie-shaped cookie dough
  • Cookie Dough Cup or Cone – Flavors include Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Fluff, Celebration, Cookies and Cream, Candy Monster, and Cold Brew”(-Disney Parks)

I don’t know how I’m only going to pick one! Ok ok celebration parfait!! You will be able to find these by the end of the month over by the other food trucks on the West Side of Disney Springs.

Earl of Sanwich

Earl of Sandwich, always a fan favorite has added new cheesesteaks! You can pick from steak, grilled chicken, or veggie options. All are topped with sauteed mushrooms, onions and peppers, and provolone cheese on artisan bread. Yum!

Mickey Onigiri

Last but not least over at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort at Intermission Food Court there are two new selections. First a plant-based option, a Sweet Thai Coconut Mickey Onigiri.  It is a great variation from the usual treats. Sticky Coconut rice is shaped like Mickey with poppy seed and it is stuffed with a fruity combo of mandarins, mangos, carrots, and apples. This nori wrapped treat comes with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Also on a bit of a sweet and sour note is the New Hades cupcake with a blue sour candy buttercream, chocolate Hades and inside you might find some fiery orange sprinkles to sweeten the deal. This cupcake will be around for the month of August if it is tempting to you.

Ever since, the Red Rose Taverne has been serving up some classic favorite snacks, meals, and beverages. Now, Red Rose Taverne is shaking things up with a new milkshake on their menu!

New White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Shake At Red Rose Taverne

The eatery is now serving the new White Chocolate  Raspberry Cheesecake Shake! This sweet treat is topped with cheesecake bites, graham crackers, whipped cream, and raspberry sauce! Sounds delicious!

Pair this specialty shake with the new Pepperoni Flatbread for a tasty meal. Both of these items, and all items on the menu, are currently available through the mobile order service on the Disneyland App.

This isn’t the first time this dining spot has had a specialty shake. Back in March of this year, they rolled out an Enchant-Mint Chocolate Chip Shake. Get ready to travel the world, World Showcase that is. A new World Showcase Passport Pack has arrived at Epcot. This adorable new activity pack is just what you need on your next day traveling around the different countries of the World Showcase.

This fun Passport Pack is designed to look like an actual passport complete with a place to receive different stamps. The pack comes with over 77 sticker “stamps” and they have different character’s on them representing the countries. While traveling along the World Showcase make sure to visit each of the different countries and have them stamp your passport with their stamp and write a greeting. Then you can place your sticker stamp in the book and write anything else you’d like. The pack also contains an Epcot Honorary Ambassador pin for you to wear.

New World Showcase Passport Packs Arrive at Epcot

This is such a fun way to explore the World Showcase. It’s also a great incentive for kids. The adults can take their time exploring the shops and what the countries offer and the kids in the group can look forward to filling up their passports. It’s a fun and interactive souvenir for anyone in the group though. Unlike the scavenger hunts during the festivals, this is available year-round. This replaces the old design and adds a lot more Disney themed stickers. They are a really neat souvenir at only $12.99 plus tax. Guests can even use an annual pass discount.

New World Showcase Passport Packs Arrive at Epcot

You can find these World Showcase Passport Packs throughout Epcot. They are located at most gift shops near the registers. Passport Packs were near the autograph books and pressed penny holders at the exit of the Seas Pavilion where the Finding Nemo themed ride is.  Most shopping locations will also have the passport and when in doubt check at MouseGear.

These are such a fun and inexpensive keepsake. Make sure to pick one up on your next trip to the World Showcase.

Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ bundle will only be $13 a month

Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ bundle will only be $13 a month

Disney will combine Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ subscriptions for $13 a month according to CEO Bob Iger Tuesday, that is a $5 discount off what you’d pay for the three services separately.

Disney set the price so you get all three services for the same price as Netflix’s most popular plan in the US.

This triple Disney Plus-Hulu-ESPN Plus bundle will be available in the US start on Nov. 12th, when Disney Plus is set to launch.

Bob also mentioned possibly seeing Fox programming coming to Disney+ service after it launches.

How exciting!

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU? Could the Marvel heroes with the worst attitude problem, filthy mouth, and cheesy, eye-rolling jokes, be teaming up for a never before seen cinematic experience? According to a source close to WeGotThisCovered.com, Marvel Studios is planning a cross over of epic proportions.

The “insider” claims that Marvel Studios is looking to create a film that will be centered around Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man as the team up to kick some major booty.

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

This wouldn’t be the first time the “Merc with a Mouth”, Spidey, and the X-Men have worked together, but it would be the first time the three heroes would be showcased in a live-action featured film together.

Fairly frequently in the comics we would see DP and Logan team up to save the day in the popular comic series: Wolverine and Deadpool. On occasion, Mr. Pool’s best superhero friend, Spider-Man, would be recruited to join them on their misadventures.

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

It’s wildly known at this point that Hugh Jackman has hung up the claws for the last time and a new actor will portray Wolverine/Logan in any new endeavors. Jackman’s real life bestie, Ryan Reynolds has no plans to retire from his now iconic performance as Deadpool/Wade Wilson, but I’m sure there will be plenty of 4th wall breaking jokes from DP about the replacement. I mean, they practically write themselves at this point, let’s be honest.

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

We also know that Marvel is rumored to have ordered 9 Spider-Man based films, 2 of which have already premiered, meaning we have at least 7 more films for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland.

Rumor has it the films will be set as three trilogies. One trilogy following Peter in high school, another trilogy following Peter Parker through college, and a final trilogy of Peter as a full fledged adult Spider-Man with years of experience as the web-slinging hero.

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

If Marvel Studios does decide to bring the three heroes together, we can only imagine the fantastic dialog and action packed entertainment the film will have to offer. Currently, there is no set director, writer, or casting other than the established cast of Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland, who already make an outstanding duo that we would love to see on screen together.

Could A Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man Team Up Be Coming to the MCU?

In the meantime, our Spidey-senses are tingling at this idea and we can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store for these Marvel-ous heroes! Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for all things Marvel.

Universal Orlando Files Patents for Two New Tower Rides!

After the recent announcement of the fourth theme park in Orlando, Universal Orlando files patents for two new tower rides. Some blogs have wondered if this could be Universal’s version of Disney’s Hollywood Tower of Terror. Check out the plans below.

Attraction One: Interactive Tower

Universal patent tower rideUniversal patent tower rideUniversal patent tower ride

As you can see from the first patent, appears to be an interactive tower ride that contains four towers with ride vehicles allowing multiple passengers. It appears from the patent, although this needs to be confirmed, that passengers might have some control over the motion and media of the vehicles. There could also be some gaming components included such as VR or projection or special effects. The ride seems to contain shooting targets and appears to have a feature that keeps passengers’ scores, similar to that of Disney’s Hollywood Toy Story Mania or Universal’s Men in Black ride. Since this patent has yet to be confirmed by Universal, we can only speculate that this ride might appear in the rumoured Nintendo-themed Land which is speculated to appear at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme park!

Attraction Two: Rotating lift with stacked rooms attraction

Universal patent tower rideUniversal patent tower ride

The second patent filed appears to be an attraction which contains multiple rooms stacked on top of each other, with vehicles able to travel in and out of rooms as well as rotate, twist and ascend and descend the tower. Opening up the possibility of a variety of experiences for guests.

We remain unsure regarding the final plans of this attraction, some blogs question if this ride is similar to Disney’s Hollywood Tower of Terror attraction due to the use of lifts and the possibility of drops, twists and turns. All we know so far is that it appears as though Universal Orlando files patents for two new tower rides, however, this has yet to be confirmed by Universal!
