Resident Evil Takes Over Universal Horror Unleashed Las Vegas This Summer

Universal Horror Unleashed has announced an all-new limited-time Resident Evil experience inspired by Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise. Running from July 9 through August 30, 2026, the immersive event will transform the year-round horror attraction into a pulse-pounding adventure where guests must battle the undead, solve puzzles, and fight to survive the T-Virus outbreak.

Rather than simply walking through a haunted house, guests will journey through six interactive zones that tell the story of Raccoon City’s downfall. The experience begins in the Arrival zone, where a weathered “Welcome to Raccoon City” sign and flashing emergency lights signal that something has gone terribly wrong. From there, guests report to the Raccoon City Police Department in the Mission zone, where they’ll work together to solve interactive puzzles before the infection spreads.

Things quickly spiral out of control in the Infection zone as guests venture into the quarantined streets of Raccoon City, now overrun by flesh-eating zombies. Along the way, they’ll encounter familiar faces from the franchise, including the mysterious Ada Wong. The action ramps up even further in the Combat zone, where fan-favorite heroes Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy battle hordes of the undead and some of Resident Evil’s most infamous villains. After surviving the chaos, guests will have opportunities to meet characters and snap photos before making one final push toward safety in the Escape zone.

Those lucky enough to survive will find themselves in the Aftermath zone, where Umbrella Corporation takes center stage once again. Guests can celebrate their survival with limited-time themed food and specialty cocktails inspired by the infamous T-Virus and its terrifying mutations, though in true Resident Evil fashion, danger may still be lurking around the next corner.

Rare Walkaround Video Gives Fans an Unprecedented Look Inside Carousel of Progress Before Its Closure

As Walt Disney World’s iconic Carousel of Progress begins its biggest transformation in more than 60 years, Disney fans are getting one last chance to appreciate the attraction like never before.

Following the ride’s final performance on July 5, members of the fan community have shared rare walkaround footage captured inside the Carousel of Progress theater years before its closure. The newly released video from Carousel Club on YouTube offers stunning close-up views of the attraction’s Audio-Animatronics, props, and intricate set details that guests normally only glimpse from their rotating theater seats.

The footage was originally filmed in March 2022 by members of the Carousel Club YouTube channel but was intentionally held back until after the attraction officially closed. During select rides with an otherwise empty theater, the group received permission from Cast Members to carefully walk along the front of the stage while remaining off the show sets. Using camera extensions, they were able to capture incredibly detailed views of the scenes without stepping onto the stage or interfering with the attraction’s operation.

The result is one of the most detailed looks ever shared of the classic attraction’s show scenes, highlighting just how much craftsmanship has gone into the attraction since it first debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. From the turn-of-the-century family to the memorable Christmas scene and the futuristic finale, the video preserves countless details that many guests never had the opportunity to notice during a normal ride.

The timing couldn’t be more fitting. Disney has already begun work on a sweeping reimagining of Carousel of Progress that will dramatically update its storyline. The attraction will now begin in 1969 before moving through scenes set in 1985 and 1999, ultimately ending in a reimagined vision of the future. Guests will also be welcomed by a brand-new introduction featuring a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic inspired by his presentation of the attraction at the 1964 World’s Fair.

The permit lists Aim Strategic Group, LLC as the contractor and describes the project simply as “General Construction.” Because the filing comes through Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, the work is widely expected to be routine maintenance or infrastructure improvements rather than a major renovation or reimagining.

At this time, Disney has not announced any refurbishment or temporary closure for Liberty Tree Tavern, so guests with upcoming dining reservations should not expect any changes based on the permit alone.

Liberty Tree Tavern has long been a favorite for guests looking for a hearty, family-style meal in Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World has quietly updated its calendar to include a rare night of Extended Evening Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving eligible guests extra time to enjoy some of the park’s most popular attractions with lower crowds.

The special Extended Evening Hours event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. This is a notable change, as Wednesdays are typically reserved for Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom. With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party taking over Magic Kingdom on many nights beginning in August, Disney is once again shifting the after-hours perk to other parks.

Guests staying at eligible Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and select partner hotels will be able to enjoy two extra hours in Hollywood Studios with access to many of the park’s biggest attractions, including Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Toy Story Mania!, Star Tours, Alien Swirling Saucers, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and the recently reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Disney has already announced that Disney’s Animal Kingdom will host Extended Evening Hours on August 26 and September 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering rides on Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Na’vi River Journey, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Meanwhile, EPCOT will continue hosting the benefit on Monday evenings, while Magic Kingdom retains most Wednesday nights that are not impacted by Halloween party events.

Universal Epic Universe is adding some massive nighttime magic to its lineup starting tonight. The park is officially debuting its brand-new signature evening show, Universal Celestial Goodnight, offering guests a breathtaking finale to cap off their theme park day.

Taking over Celestial Park every night at closing time, this must-see spectacular brings the five worlds of Epic Universe to life through light and water. The show features a brilliant mix of nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, 350 towering fountains, and seven million vibrant LED lights, all set to an energetic musical score. If you were hoping to snag one of Disneyland Resort’s rare evening ticket bargains this summer, we have some tough news. Less than a week after launching, the popular $59 1-Day Evening Ticket is now officially listed as “currently unavailable” on the Disneyland website.

The budget-friendly offer clearly hit a major chord with Disney fans. Upon heading to the resort’s checkout calendar, eager travelers will find that all eligible dates have been completely crossed out, indicating that the initial wave of reservations has been entirely spoken for.

Rolled out as a surprise limited-time promotion, the $59 ticket was designed for guests ages 3 and up to enjoy the parks after the peak daytime heat and crowds began to melt away.
