Five Year-Old Boy Becomes Honorary Flight Attendant En Route To His Walt Disney World Resort Make a Wish

Five Year-Old Boy Becomes Honorary Flight Attendant En Route To His Walt Disney World Resort Make a Wish

This 5-year-old boy became and honorary flight attendant on Allegiant Air while en route to his Walt Disney World Resort make a wish.

For his trip to Walt Disney World, Make-A-Wish® kid Stephen “S.J.” Awwad, 5, had one tiny request: could he also hand out snacks to his fellow passengers during the flight to Florida?

Yes, he could, Allegiant representatives said. When S.J.’s flight departed Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids Monday, bound for Orlando, that’s exactly what he did.

Make

In a grand send-off at gate A2, with airport officials and Make-A-Wish Michigan representatives there to see him off, S.J. was named an honorary Allegiant flight attendant. A crew member presented S.J. with a kid-sized version of the crew uniform, complete with an orange tie, yellow shirt, and blue sweater vest. He also received his very own customized wings pin with his nickname and the words “flight attendant” etched in the metal.

During the flight, S.J. walked along the aisle of the aircraft with a flight attendant and handed out complimentary snack-packs of pretzels. Passengers were delighted with the in-flight service.

S.J.’s wish was to spend a week with his family at Walt Disney World® Resort. Handing out snacks during the flight was a “wish enhancement,” just a little extra something that Allegiant was thrilled to be a part of, said Hilarie Grey, the airline’s managing director of corporate communications. She also oversees Allegiant’s corporate giving initiatives.

Since 2012, Allegiant has partnered with Make-A-Wish, helping to fulfill the wishes of more than 1,800 children. The airline is currently a Wish Champion, recognized for making $1 million in annual contributions. It is also the only domestic carrier to feature an aircraft with a Make-A-Wish themed livery.

“Many of the kids we fly to their wish destinations are traveling to Florida,” Grey said. “But this is the first time a Wish kid has asked to serve snacks to passengers in flight. We found out from Make-A-Wish that S.J. loves anything to do with flying, so we not only wanted to say ‘yes,’ but aimed to make the experience extra special.”

A special thank you to Disney for their donation of theme park tickets and other perks for each of the wish families, including SJ and his family, as part of their 39-year relationship with Make-A-Wish.

New Customizable Magnets Part of D-Tech Line Up

New Customizable Magnets Part of D-Tech Line Up

There’s a brand new option for D-Tech fans. Not only can guests customize their own phone cases and MagicBands but now you can customize your own magnets as well. We stopped by the store next to Space Mountain at Walt Disney World to see what options where available.

New Customizable Magnets Part of D-Tech Line Up

I was surprised by the number of options available for custom magnets. You could even personalize some with your name. What you need to do is get to one of the monitors and customize your magnet from the options available. It will then send your magnet to be made right there in store after you pay. It wasn’t very busy while I was there and it was about a 30-minute wait for a magnet. You don’t have to stay there while its made.

This video shows how easy it is to make your own magnet. I love how they had some specialty limited-edition options like the Halloween Party ones. The magnets are a great personalized souvenir to take home from your Walt Disney World Vacations.

New Customizable Magnets Part of D-Tech Line Up

This station was at Magic Kingdom but there are other spots to get personalized D-Tech on property. There’s a location at Disney Springs as well. This is also a fun stocking stuffer if you’re like me and already thinking of holiday gifts.

Chris Hemsworth Wants To Star Alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in a ‘Three Amigos’ Remake

Chris Hemsworth Wants To Star Alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in a 'Three Amigos' Remake

Chris Hemsworth Wants To Star Alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in a ‘Three Amigos’ Remake. Never in my life have I both wanted a remake of Three Amigos! starring Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Robert Downey Jr. just as much as I want the original film to be left alone. While I sort out my confusion, let’s see how this idea even came into existence.

It all started with Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, reminiscing about his ‘alleged’ final film with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, at least when it comes to their time together in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Hemsworth shared his thoughts about their departure at ACE Comic Con Chicago. His response clearly shows he is going to dearly miss his co-stars and fellow Avengers, but has hope to reunite in the future on other projects outside of Marvel.

“Absolutely. I would love to.” Hemsworth shared. “That was so sad about kind of finishing Endgame, was just ‘Were we ever going to get to hang out again?’ And I immediately started thinking ‘What else could we do?’ And I’d love to. We could remake the Three Amigos! or something.”

For those who may not even know what the Three Amigos! is, here is a synopsis of the 1986 comedy starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase: “Three cowboy movie stars from the silent era — Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin) and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short) — are fired when one of their movies bombs. In what seems to be a career-saving offer, young Mexican woman Carmen (Patrice Martinez) offers them a high-paying gig in her village. The three jump at the opportunity, expecting to do their typical act, but Carmen believes they are really heroes and asks them to rid her village of bad guy El Guapo (Alfonso Arau).”

This is not the first time a team up outside of Marvel has been suggested by The Avengers stars. Chris Evans even shared the same sentiment about continuing to work with his Marvel co-stars. Evans even stated that he would be game to star alongside Hemsworth in “an 80’s buddy comedy” and explore new characters outside of their respective Marvel heroes.

“We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we couldn’t get sh*t done,” Evans said of Hemsworth earlier this year, “I would love to do one of those ’80s buddy comedies, where we could shed the characters we are known for.”

Ryan Reynolds Hints at ‘Deadpool’ Talks With Marvel Studios

Ryan Reynolds Hints at ‘Deadpool’ Talks With Marvel Studios. With the acquisition of Fox by Disney, Marvel Studios now has the rights to Deadpool and related properties. For those who didn’t know, DP is currently being played by fan favorite and talented actor and producer, Ryan Reynolds.

This week, Ryan shared a photo via his verified Instagram page: @VancityReynolds, of himself in front of the now iconic Marvel Studios logo at an undisclosed location. Many fans speculate Ryan was heavily involved in the conversation about the future of Deadpool, especially given the R-rated content of the films that is not usually associated with the Disney brands.

Reynolds shared the image of him in front of the Marvel Studios logo with the caption, “Auditioned for the role of “Anthony Stark”. Didn’t come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground.”

Though Ryan jokes about an audition with the studio, it’s relieving to know that Disney and Marvel do not intend to squander the dirty deeds of DP and have given permission for the Deadpool team to continue with R-Rated content.

Deadpool co-writer Paul Wernick recently shared the update about the 3rd films rating with EW, “We’re always in touch with Ryan… I think the party line and truth is we’re all still figuring it out. Marvel has promised to continue to let us play in the R-rated Deadpool universe, and the hope is that they will also let us veer into the MCU a little bit as well and play in that sandbox. Our feeling and Ryan’s feeling is that it’s got to be the right idea, it’s got to be great… I think once we collectively agree what idea that great idea is we’ll be off to the races. Ryan’s super-busy, we’ve got a lot of projects lined up, but we wake up thinking about Deadpool, and we go to sleep thinking about Deadpool.”

Ryan Reynolds Hints at 'Deadpool' Talks With Marvel Studios

Deadpool co-writer, Rhett Reese, also spoke on the change from Fox to Marvel in a recent interview, “Marvel’s a rich universe of both heroes and also, wonderfully, villains, so we would love to see Deadpool enter that universe in a fun way. It’s just about figuring out how and when. [Plus] Ryan [Reynolds] is very busy and the transition has delayed everything because you just don’t know. [Marvel Studios] is figuring out the next version of the MCU obviously and that’s its own beast. Then you throw Deadpool in there and the X-Men and stuff, and it’s crazy.”

Though Ryan Reynolds remains busy with work, he has shown time and time again that he is dedicated to Deadpool and making sure the character gets the justice he deserves on screen, even with a change in Studios. Many fans, including Ryan Reynolds himself,  are hoping to see Deadpool enter the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but with the rocky relationship between Sony and Disney at the moment, if it doesn’t happen in the third Spider-Man film we will likely never get to see the pair onscreen together. [Insert sad music and frowny faces here]

We can not wait to see what Marvel has in store for the “Merc with a Mouth” and his grand entrance into the MCU. How do you think Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will be introduced? Will he make a cameo appearance in another Marvel film or will Deadpool 3 explain the newly reunited characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments.

Star Wars Lingo Has Been Added to the Oxford English Dictionary

Star Wars Lingo Has Been Added to the Oxford English Dictionary

Star Wars Lingo has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary!

The Oxford English Dictionary has just released a list of new words and quite a few are from the Star Wars  universe.

The first (and possibly most important) word added is “Jedi”. The definition for “Jedi” reads, ““In the fictional universe of the Star Wars films: a member of an order of heroic, skilled warrior monks who are able to harness the mystical power of the Force.”

“Force” was naturally already in the dictionary, but the definition has been updated to feature the Star Wars version of the word too. It calles the “Force” a “mystical universal energy field”. The word(s) “Mind Trick” have also been updated with a note saying “See also Jedi”.

Other Star Wars words include “Padawan” defined as “an apprentice Jedi” and litesabre defined as “a weapon resembling a sword, but having a destructive beam of light in place of a blade.”

Try using Star Wars lingo in your next game of scrabble!
