Mickey’s Very Merry Christmastime Parade Is The Perfect Way To Celebrate The Season

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmastime Parade Is The Perfect Way To Celebrate The Season

If you’re visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during this holiday season a must-see is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmastime Parade. There are two ways to see this amazing parade. You can see it at night during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or during the day the week of Christmas. If you have the opportunity I highly recommend scouting out a spot to watch.

The parade is full of Disney favorites. It has some characters from Toy Story, Disney Princesses, Toy Soldiers, and the main mouse himself. The parade starts off with Mickey and Minnie dressed in their holiday best. The music for this parade is so amazing and has everyone dancing.

The characters from Frozen are next! Led by a float with Olaf greeting parade viewers. There’s also some fun dancers with ice picks making their way between the floats.

Another adorable float is Goofy on top of a fun bike with tons of candy as decorations. Floats like these don’t only look amazing but that smell amazing as well. And who doesn’t love Goofy! His outfit for this parade is fantastic.

The Seven Dwarfs lead the way to almost all the Disney Princesses. Snow White is first and she is followed by a beautiful and humongous float filled with most of our favorites.

The Toy Soldiers are one of my favorite parts. This is an amazing sight to see. They are just before the end of the parade and Santa. They all march around and they are stunning.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmastime parade concludes with the man of the season. Santa arrives with his reindeer leading the way. He sits atop a sleigh with a huge bag of presents.

This parade is definitely a highlight of not only the Christmas party but of the holiday festivities at Walt Disney World. Make sure you check it out if you can and see Forky as the newest addition to this already amazing parade.

Disney+ Gargoyles Twitter Campaign to Help Revive Show

Disney+ Gargoyles Twitter Campaign to Help Revive Show

Disney+ has launched!  There are so many amazing shows uploaded to the streaming service!  Unsure where to start?  This Gargoyles Twitter Campaign might help you get started!

On launch day for Disney+ the Gargoyles creator, Greg Weisman, took to Twitter to formally endorse the old school show available again on the streaming service.  Weisman, taking after similar social media campaigns bringing back Young Justice, another show he helped create and actively develops, took the same approach with this Gargoyles Twitter Campaign. Weisman tweeted, “We [can] Live Again!,” Weisman tweeted. “#KeepBingingGargoyles on #DisneyPlus!! This is exactly how the #YoungJustice fandom brought YJ back. It can happen to #Gargoyles too!”

In a previous article, we reported that Weisman isn’t the only Gargoyles alum who would like to see a Gargoyles revival!  Keith David, the voice behind Gargoyles’ lead Goliath, admitted he’d love for nothing more than to return to a revival. “You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning… I’ve always wondered why they stopped it in the first place.” Then he floated the idea of a possible reboot, saying he’d love to return and voice Goliath. “[We’ve wondered] why we haven’t come back to a reboot,” the actor asks. “I mean, I would love nothing more than to revisit Goliath.”

The Gargoyles show initially ran for 65 episodes in the mid to late 1990s before a non-canon spinoff named The Goliath Chronicles.  Disney eventually ended the show because of plummeting ratings. All three seasons of Gargoyles can now be streamed on Disney+.

We hope the Gargoyles Twitter campaign works for Mr. Weisman!  You don’t know what you are missing if you don’t binge-watch this old school amazingness!

Epcot Announces Dates and Experiences for its 2020 Festival of the Arts

2020 Epcot Festival of the Arts

Epcot is always buzzing with festivals and events. One of the most exciting times of the year for those who appreciate creativity and aesthetics is the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, and Walt Disney World has just dropped some details about the 2020 event!

The Festival of the Arts will take place from January 17th through February 24th and will be 39 days of gloriously artistic food, entertainment, and hands-on experiences for guests.

Returning this year is the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, featuring Broadway stars such as Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White (”The Lion King”), Heidi Blickenstaff (”The Little Mermaid” and ”Freaky Friday”), Gavin Lee (”Mary Poppins”), Ashley Brown (”Mary Poppins” and ”Beauty and the Beast”), along with many others and some yet to be announced! The shows take place in the America Gardens Theatre, with three daily performances. Although entry to the show is included with park admission, the best way to guarantee a seat is to sign up for the Disney on Broadway Dining Package. This will not only allow partakers to seat themselves before standby guests (therefore gaining a better view), but they’ll also be able to experience one of Epcot’s amazing restaurants.

Other experiences during the 2020 Festival of the Arts will include Paint with a Disney Artist, a demonstrated artistic experience, and the World Showcase: Destinations Discovered, which is a guided tour. Both of these are premium opportunities and are available at an additional cost.

Guests who’d rather steer clear of extra fees can still enjoy many experiences during the Festival, including fun photo ops scattered around the park, helping to paint a wall mural along World Showcase Plaza, a Figment scavenger hunt, watching visiting Disney artists create new works of art, and so much more!

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can begin booking dining packages and workshops as of November 13th. General bookings begin on November 14th. Spoiler-Free Review of the Live Action “Lady and the Tramp” on Disney+

Lady and the Tramp

Lady and the Tramp

Yesterday was the launch day for Disney+ and tons of Disney classics are now available to watch. I wanted check out the new content before plowing into some of my childhood favorites. The new live action “Lady and the Tramp” most intrigued me since I wanted to see how Disney would remake the beloved 1955 animated film. Below is my brief spoiler-free review of the new movie.

Lady and the Tramp (2019)

The live action “Lady and the Tramp” is a faithful adaption to the original movie. It follows the same overall plot of how a cocker-spaniel puppy is loved by her family while living in a charming town set in the year 1909. Lady wakes up one day to the shock of how she’s no longer the center of attention. She meets a stray dog, Tramp, who she slowly warms up to and the story continues showing their budding dog romance.

Overall, I did enjoy myself while watching the movie, and I think Disney fans will be delighted to see the dogs featured on screen. It’s a feel-good story and pleasant for families of all ages to enjoy. Disney did a great job with the dogs they picked to play the main characters. The background design and set pieces were fitting for the timeframe of the story. The visual background had a nice aesthetic and the town looked bright. The music was also very fitting.

However, I did see some areas that could have been tweaked a bit. For instance, they created a new song for the Siamese Cats to sing. The new song is lacking the charm and appeal of the other songs in the movie’s soundtrack. Also, the dialogue and scenes between the human actors was a bit bland. I can see why when the original animated film focused on the dogs and featured humans in the background. But the human world is more present in this movie. I give credit to the live action actors and they were faithful to the original animated story, but they could have added a bit more engaging dialogue between the humans.

In the end, I do recommend this movie to Disney lovers and dog lovers alike. Fans of the animated movie will enjoy the live action “Lady and the Tramp.”

Spoiler-Free Review of the Live Action “Lady and the Tramp” on Disney+

Lady and the Tramp features a great cast of voice actors: Tessa Thompson (Lady), Justin Theroux (Tramp), Sam Elliot (Trusty), Ashley Jensen (Jock), Benedict Wong (Bulldog), and Janelle Monáe (Peg).

Lady and the Tramp is available to watch now on the Disney+ streaming service.

Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys Have Arrived At McDonald’s!

Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys

The Disney partnership with McDonald’s continues, and this time we can get Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys! After the Lion King collection, we were really hoping to see toys for Frozen 2, and we are not disappointed. After Frozen 2, it looks like we can look forward to Star Wars toys as the next Happy Meal collection too!

Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys Have Arrived At McDonald's!

There are nine toys in total to collect! Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf also join four new characters for this Happy Meal adventure. You may have noticed each toy has a rocky or icy looking base. That is because each toy is actually a glider, that can be launched from a special piece that comes with it. We may or may have had too much fun at the restaurant launching our Olafs in a glider battle.

Each toy is McPlay compatible, and can be scanned for a surprise in the app. In addition to the toys, parents can also enter a code that comes with each toy at MagicatMCD.com to enter into a giveaway.

Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys

Frozen 2 not only graces the Happy Meal boxes, but also the packaging of the apple slices, and plain milk bottles! I had to resist the urge to steal my son’s apple slices!

Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys Have Arrived At McDonald's!

We won’t even have to wait for another Happy Meal promotion till Star Wars, either! Star Wars toys will be the next ones available! With Star Wars fans being long time toy collectors I am betting these will be extremely popular!

Will you be stepping into the unknown at McDonald’s with the new Frozen 2 Happy Meal Toys?

Olaf’s Frozen Hot Cocoa Cake is Like a Warm Hug to Your Taste Buds

Olaf Dessert Magic Kingdom

When the list of Disney holiday treats came out Olaf’s Frozen Hot Cocoa Cake was at the top of my list.  I mean, just look how cute he is!  Not only is he adorable floating around in buttercream frosting but he is delicious.

Olaf's Frozen Hot Cocoa Cake is Like a Warm Hug to Your Taste Buds

So what is inside this delectable dessert?  Don’t be confused by the name there is not much cake but that didn’t take away from the treat.  From bottom to top, there is a small layer of chocolate cake, topped with chocolate panna cotta, marshmallow cream, and orange and purple buttercream frosting.

Olaf's Frozen Hot Cocoa Cake is Like a Warm Hug to Your Taste Buds

The lovable Olaf is made of marshmallows and white chocolate with chocolate buttons and arms.  While this treat is definitely picture-worthy it is actually at the top of my list as far as taste goes.  The marshmallow cream is so yummy with the little bit of chocolate cake and panna cotta.  The buttercream frosting and white chocolate were a little sweet for my taste but still very good.

Olaf's Frozen Hot Cocoa Cake is Like a Warm Hug to Your Taste Buds

This treat can be found at Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery (or Starbucks) which means you may have to wait in a long line for it.  At least you can get some Starbucks points for it!  I would say it is worth waiting (or melting) for.  The cost is $6.99 or a snack credit.  Are you excited for the upcoming release of Frozen 2?

Prince Eric Has Been Cast for 'Little Mermaid' Live-Action Movie!

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” live-action movie has found its Prince Eric! Jonah Hauer-King is joining the cast of the movie based on the animated film of the same name.

Word is Hauer-King has had two screen tests with director Rob Marshall. His past credits include TV miniseries “Little Women” and “Howard’s End” as well as Sony’s “A Dog’s Way Home.” He joins a great cast and crew on the “The Little Mermaid” set.

Halle Bailey will portray Ariel, the mermaid princess who dreams of being a human, while Melissa McCarthy will play Ursula. Javier Bardem is King Triton and Daveed Diggs has been tapped to portray Sebastian.

The Little Mermaid” will be directed by Marshall and written by David Magee. Original songs from the 1989 animated classic will be incorporated into the new movie, as well as new tunes from original composer Alan Menken with lyrics by “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda is also producing the film with Marshall, Marc Platt, and John DeLuca.

Are you excited to see this new live-action movie? What do you think of Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric?

Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ was released the year I was born and is my favorite Disney movie! It has some of the best songs and I loved Ariel more than any other princess.
