Gary Sinise AKA Lieutenant Dan Takes Children of Fallen Soldiers to Disney World

Snowball Express

Gary Sinise AKA Lieutenant Dan Takes Children of Soldiers to Disney

Gary Sinise – the actor who played Lieutenant Dan in “Forrest Gump” – recently took over 1,000 children of fallen soldiers to Walt Disney World.

The famous actor and musician who starred in “Forrest Gump”, “The Green Mile”, and “Apollo 13” is one of many celebrities who use their resources and fame to help those in need. He established the Gary Sinise Foundation which is an organization used to honor and help military veterans around the country. He works to serve the needs of veterans, first responders, their families, and their communities.

The foundation is built around Sinise’s words: “While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more.”

A program called “Snowball Express” launched in 2017. This program honors fallen soldiers by taking their children to the Most Magical Place on Earth – Disney World – for FREE!

More than 1,750 children were flown to Orlando for a 5-night stay. The children and their surviving parents received “we remember” pins upon their arrival and 600 flags were on display to recognize those who sacrificed their lives.

Spoiler-Free Review of Disney’s ‘Noelle’ on Disney+

Spoiler-Free Review of Disney's 'Noelle' on Disney+

Spoiler-Free Review of Disney’s ‘Noelle‘ on Disney+. Get ready to enjoy a holly, jolly Christmas movie!

Disney’s Noelle, is the perfectly balanced holiday film. Filled with zany one liners, Christmas references sprinkled into every day conversation, and a twist on how the whole “Santa” thing works, Noelle is bound to become a streaming tradition for those who enjoy fun-loving Christmas themed adventure.

“In Disney+’s holiday comedy “Noelle,” Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas. The sudden disappearance of the new Santa (Bill Hader) leads to chaos in the North Pole, so Mrs. Claus (Julie Hagerty) must step up to rein in the hi-tech replacement Santa, Cousin Gabe (Billy Eichner). Meanwhile, Noelle and Elf Polly (Shirley MacLaine), the family’s acerbic but good-hearted nanny, are down South on a search-and-recover mission, during which Noelle (Anna Kendrick) comes to realize she has much in common with her father and begins to understand the true meaning of Christmas.”

Anna Kendrick portrays Noelle Kringle, who finds purpose in life by helping her big brother, Nick, prepare to one day take on the mantle of Santa Claus from their father. Through a series of mishaps and misunderstanding, Noelle must save Christmas and fix her mistakes. She meets some diverse new friends along the way and helps to spread Christmas Cheer while learning more about the world outside of The North Pole, and even more about herself. The movie is lighthearted and funny for all ages. Parents will be entertained by the jokes, kids will love the holiday cheer through out the film, and everyone can enjoy this heartfelt story about the importance of family, friendship, and discovering your purpose.

Disney+ Offers “Kids Mode” For Family Friendly Viewing

Disney+ Offers "Kids Mode" For Family Friendly Viewing

Disney+ Offers “Kids Mode” For Family Friendly Viewing. Though nothing on Disney+ is rated higher than PG-13, some titles may still be inappropriate for small children. To help keep Disney+ as family-friendly as possible, Disney is offering a “Kids Mode” while using Disney+ to offer safe surfing of the site by even the youngest eyes.

Disney+ has plenty to offer for their young viewer including movies and shows from their favorite studios and television networks such as: Disney Junior, Disney Channel, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, and more!

The “Kids Mode” is easily added to an individual profile, letting parents feel free to allow their little ones to search for something to watch to their hearts content! You can set time limits, select appropriate ratings, specifically block unwanted content, and more.

Disney has made a conscious effort to keep Disney+ family-friendly, but some content from studios such as Lucasfilm (Star Wars) and Marvel Studios, may be too violent or depict brutal or scary imagery for younger viewers.

As a parent I can appreciate this feature, especially with having a toddler in the house. As she gets older, there will be titles she will have to wait to watch and this will give us a sense of ease when she gets her allotted screen time. It’s comforting to know they can’t accidentally access a film or show that’s a bit more mature than they are ready for, and the customization allows us to pick and choose what is viewable.

So what can your kid watch on “Kid Mode”? There is SO MUCH content that is kid/family appropriate it’s mind boggling! Your child will not have trouble finding something to watch. Whether it’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Elena of Avalor, or Moana, kids of all ages have something to enjoy. With hundreds of movie titles, thousands of episodes from various television shows and Disney+ originals, you and your family will have hours of entertainment at your fingertips.
