A Look Inside the New Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railroad Ride at Hollywood Studios

A Look Inside the New Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railroad Ride at Hollywood Studios

The wait is winding down till the newest ride at Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando Florida opens. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is set to open its doors on March 4th, 2020. The ride will replace the long-standing attraction of The Great Movie Ride. The concept comes from the award-winning Mickey Mouse Short film, “Perfect Picnic”. Believe it or not, this will be the first ride in Disney that will showcase Mickey and his friends. So there is much excitement surrounding it.  None other than Walt Disney World President Josh D’Amaro was there and sharing on his Instagram about the ride.

He gave us an inside look today snapping some pictures for some of the first pictures inside of the ride and loading area. It looks toontastic! Preparations are well underway.  Even with some earlier delays to the project, the excitement is building, as you see him posing with the cast members and Imagineers.  Testing and training are going on behind the scenes to get ready for the fast-approaching March opening. The ride will also be opening at a later date in 2022 in Disneyland California.

The story is set with Mickey and Minnie venturing out for a picnic in their beloved roadster. They happen upon Goofy, or Engineer Goofy that is with his train. This is where the adventure begins as you are invited to join along in the fun as you board the train. Don’t try to comprehend the physics of it all, remember you are in a toon world after all. I can’t wait to see Mickey and his pals on a fun-filled adventure, that we get to join in on!

Guests forget they had their handgun when trying to enter the Magic Kingdom

According to a report released yesterday by the Orange County Sheriff’s office, a 35-year-old man and his 34-year-old wife told Magic Kingdom security they had the unloaded Ruger LCP .380 pistol on them during bag screening around 9 a.m. on Dec. 28th when they were trying to gain entrance to the theme park with their 4-year-old daughter.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the gun was zipped up in a bag and both guests claim them have a concealed carry permit for Missouri which they live.

The incident report states “They apologized stating they forgot to leave it in the hotel room and asked if they could secure the gun somewhere in the park … They forgot the gun was in the purse when they left to come on the family vacation because they have 18 family members attending the trip and had many bags.”

The couple was not arrested nor were they banned from Disney World, instead, the Orange County Sheriff’s held onto the gun for safekeeping.

Mad Tea Party Minnie Collection Revealed For The March Release

Mad Tea Party Minnie Collection

Mad Tea Party Minnie Collection Revealed For The March Release

It is only January, and I can not wait till March! The shopDisney UK site also revealed another Main Attraction Minnie collection to look forward to! March will feature Mad Tea Party Minnie Collection! Mad Tea Party is one of my favorite attractions, so I’m very excited for this one.

Just like the other Minnie Main Attraction collections this one will feature a Minnie ear headband, a Loungefly, pins, mug, and Minnie Plush! The Loungefly bags will be alternating between mini backpacks, and fanny packs. February’s Pirate’s of the Caribbean collection will have a fanny pack, but the Mad Tea Party collection will have a backpack. The color scheme for this collection is a beautiful light pink, and purple with mint! Little yellow tea cups also adorn the pink bows that accent each collectible too!

You can look forward to the release of this collection on Saturday, March 21st! The Mad Tea Party Minnie Collection will be available at the Disney Parks, Disney Stores, and online at shopDisney! Will you be collecting the entire set, or just certain items from each month? I know I plan to get all of the Minnie ears, but I might have to give in and get a Loungefly or two as well.
