Universal Studios Sued for $5+ Million by Attraction Manufacturing Company for Unpaid Services

Universal Studios Sued for $5+ Million by Attraction Manufacturing Company for Unpaid Services

Universal Studios Sued for $5+ Million by Attraction Manufacturing Company for Unpaid Services. Austrian Manufacturer Dynamic Motion Rides, aka DyMoRides, has moved forward with a lawsuit against Universal after a settlement could not be reached outside of court over the use of intellectual property and unpaid services for work on “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon“. Though the companies had been going back and forth for several years, the lawsuit came to light after The Orlando Sentinel shared the story with subscribers.

The report from The Orlando Sentinel shares:

“DyMoRides sued Universal in Orange Circuit Court, saying it was still owed $5 million in unpaid bills with interest. The Austrian company also claimed Universal is operating the ride [Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon] today without a license to use DyMoRides’ intellectual property. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

Reportedly, DyMoRides was originally contracted to receive $10.8 Million for services rendered and intellectual property use by Universal. The lawsuit claims the despite being replaced with another manufacturer after Universal requested changes to the ride that were rejected by DyMoRides, Universal has failed to uphold their standing contract. If these accusations are proven to be true, that means Universal has not paid for nearly 50% of the agreement and has been operating the ride since 2017 without permission from DyMoRides.

It is currently unknown what the “unspecified damages” will amount to, but we have a feeling that if the company has been operating the attraction for 4+ years, it will not come without a hefty price tag!

The famed ride is a 3D motion-simulator attraction based on Jimmy Fallon’s tenure as the host of The Tonight Show. The ride was officially announced on the October 27, 2015 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and opened on April 6, 2017, replacing the closed attraction Twister…Ride it Out.

CDC says vaccinated Americans do not need to get tested or self-quarantine after travel

CDC says vaccinated Americans do not need to get tested or self-quarantine after travel

In a report issued by the CDC today it states that if you travel in the United States, you do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine upon arriving home.

CDC says vaccinated Americans do not need to get tested or self-quarantine after travel

Here are more details:

If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You can gather indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart.
  • You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people of any age from one other household (for example, visiting with relatives who all live together) without masks or staying 6 feet apart, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
  • If you travel in the United States, you do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel.
  • You need to pay close attention to the situation at your international destination before traveling outside the United States.
    • You do NOT need to get tested before leaving the United States unless your destination requires it.
    • You still need to show a negative test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States.
    • You should still get tested 3-5 days after international travel.
    • You do NOT need to self-quarantine after arriving in the United States.
  • If you’ve been around someone who has COVID-19, you do not need to stay away from others or get tested unless you have symptoms.
    • However, if you live in a group setting (like a correctional or detention facility or group home) and are around someone who has COVID-19, you should still stay away from others for 14 days and get tested, even if you don’t have symptoms.

For now, if you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You should still take steps to protect yourself and others in many situations, like wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces. Take these precautions whenever you are:
    • In public
    • Gathering with unvaccinated people from more than one other household
    • Visiting with an unvaccinated person who is at increased risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19 or who lives with a person at increased risk
  • You should still avoid medium or large-sized gatherings.
  • If you travel, you should still take steps to protect yourself and others. You will still be required to wear a mask on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States, and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. Fully vaccinated international travelers arriving in the United States are still required to get tested within 3 days of their flight (or show documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months) and should still get tested 3-5 days after their trip.
  • You should still watch out for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if you’ve been around someone who is sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested and stay home and away from others.
  • You will still need to follow the guidance at your workplace.

Anthony Mackie Says Marvel Can Never Recast Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther

Black Panther
Black Panther

Anthony Mackie thinks it would be a mistake for Marvel to recast Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. Boseman made his debut as T’Challa in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. His Black Panther quickly became a fan favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially after the character’s solo film in 2018.

Anthony Mackie says “nobody” could replace his Avengers co-star Chadwick Boseman as Marvel’s Black Panther. You can see part of his video interview below.

Celebrate Earth Month with the Sea Turtle Cupcake from Restaurantosaurus

Sea Turtle Cupcake
Turtle Cupcake Crush

Sea Turtle Cupcake debuts on April 5th at Restaurantosaurus at Animal Kingdom. We here at ChipandCo.com asked Crush himself for a quote and what we heard back was “Oh, I saw the whole thing, dude! First, you were like, whoa! And then we were like, WHOA! And then you were like, whoa.” So we then asked if he was talking about the new cupcake in honor of Earth Month, his response confounded us “Oh, man. Hey, no hurling on the shell, dude, okay? Just waxed it.”

We had no clue what he was talking about. This is why you don’t have a conversation with a turtle who may or may not be a hippie surfer. We will be headed to the parks on the 5th to try it for ourselves. Righteous!
