Patrick Dempsey Says He Will Sing and Dance in Disney’s ‘Disenchanted’

Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams in Disney's Enchanted

Patrick Dempsey Says He Will Sing and Dance in Disney’s ‘Disenchanted’. Disney Fans are very curious to hear more news about the Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted, and now thanks to Patrick Dempsey we have new insight! During an interview with Variety, Patrick Dempsey shared some new details regarding the sequel, including the fact that he will officially sing and dance in the movie!

Patrick shared with Variety, “I’ve been talking to [the] director [Adam Shankman]. The story is getting better and better. There’s a great cast coming together. And the musical numbers, I get to sing and dance. To work with everybody again after 14 years is just really exciting. We need some escapism right now. We need those romantic comedies and those musicals to get people out of the doldrums that we’re in.”

Dempsey also shared that Disenchanted has been in talks since the original film was released, and finally the cast and studio have found a script that tells a story that everyone can enjoy! “Every year they were like, “We’re going to do this. It’s going to get done,” but then no one could agree on the script. It’s such an important film for them and it’s a satire. It’s not a typical Disney movie. It’s kind of off-brand a little bit. Yet we give honor to all of those Disney movies that have come before and they finally now have figured it out. And we’re old enough, so it’s like a midlife crisis movie.”

Though his character Robert and Giselle shared a private moment where he danced a choreographed dance during the ball scene and sang a line of “So Close” into her ear in the first film, we never really got to see him sing like a traditional Disney Prince. This time, we will get to see Robert join in on the fun and embrace a new side of himself!

Patrick added, “I will be singing for the first time. I’ve never ever sung publicly — for a reason. So bear with me. I hope the fans embrace it. But they’ve set me up for success and the lyrics are really fun. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise is going to be interesting.”

When it comes to who he will be singing with in the film, Dempsey shared he will not be singing with his returning co-star Idina Menzel, but there will be plenty of music to enjoy! When asked if he would get to sing with Elsa herself, Idina Menzel, Patrick said, “I don’t sing with her. I don’t know the exact amount, but there are a lot of cool numbers in this.”

According to The DisInsider, a synopsis for the film reads: “The film will see Giselle, Robert, and Morgan moving to a new house in the suburbs, overseen by Malvina Monroe, the main villain of the film. After problems begin to arise, Giselle makes a wish to transform their lives into a perfect fairytale. However, the spell backfires dramatically and puts Giselle in a rush against the clock to save both her family and her Kingdom of Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.”

Open Call Audition Now Available for the ‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Series

Percy Jackson cover with Disney+ logo overlay

Open Call Audition Now Available for the ‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Series. Disney+ has announced they are looking for their new Percy Jackson! An open call audition shares:

Seeking: [PERCY JACKSON] Playing 12, male. A smart, compassionate kid, with a sharp sense of humor. He’s always seen himself as an outsider, in no small part because of how the world sees his ADHD and dyslexia. He’s no wallflower though. He’s impulsive and rambunctious, and is quick to anger when things seem unfair to him. Sarcasm is just another service he offers, but beneath his cynicism is an affectionate son and loyal friend who just wants to do right by those he cares about. If only he could find a place where he fits in.

Related: Rick Riordan Shares A New Update on Live-Action ‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Series

If you know a child/teen who fits the bill and wants to audition for the role of Percy Jackson, follow these STEPS provided by Disney below:

STEP 1: Please pick and have your child prepare their favorite passage from the book series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”.

STEP 2: As your child performs the passage, we want to see their face straight-on (as opposed to angled/in profile). While they do not have to memorize the passage, please make sure that while reading, there are moments where they are speaking and looking directly at the camera (so we can see their face). The frame of the video should be fairly close (from the top of the head to just below the shoulders, as shown in the image below).A generic outline of a headshot portrait

STEP 3: After your child has performed the passage, please have them look directly into the camera and have them tell us their NAME, AGE, HEIGHT, and WHICH CITY you live in.

STEP 4: Please email your child’s audition to [email protected] as either a .mov or .mp4 file. You can attach the file directly to your email submission (if the file is small enough). If it is too large to attach to your email, you can send via WeTransfer, Hightail or another secure format. Please include your child’s name in the filename for both (i.e. JohnDoeSlate.mp4 , JohnDoeScene1.mp4).

It is free to submit. This is not an offer for, nor guarantee, of employment. Due to the large volume of submissions, we will not be able to acknowledge everyone.”

The only names tied to the Percy Jackson project at the moment are creators Becky and Rick Riordan. It is currently unknown when the series will begin filming or when it will premiere on Disney+, but with castings underway filming should begin very soon!

Disneyland Paris announces a regal transformation of the iconic Disneyland Hotel

As final touches are made to the highly anticipated Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, due to open soon, Disneyland Paris announces a regal transformation of the iconic Disneyland Hotel, which will be the first Disney Hotel to celebrate a royal theme. This complete refurbishment is the next step in an ambitious renovation plan for all Disneyland Paris hotels spanning years and more than 5,700 rooms. The impressive transformation demonstrates Disneyland Paris’s ongoing commitment to continually invest in the guest experience and its successful strategy to infuse more beloved Disney franchises and stories into its hotels.

Disneyland Paris hotels are much more than a place to sleep – they are the best way to enjoy our resort! Beyond the many advantages such as early park access, free transportation to the parks, dedicated shopping services and even Disney character encounters, hotel guests are immersed in themed environments and compelling stories like nowhere else beyond the parks.

Following the infusion of Cars storytelling in the completely refurbished Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe and a similar approach to add Toy Story in the new guest rooms and public spaces at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, the best example of this transformation plan is the soon-to-open four-star Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. It will be the first Disney hotel in the world celebrating the Art of Marvel, where guests can discover more than 350 Marvel art pieces from 110 artists around the world, meet with one of their favorite Super Heroes and even dine in an atmosphere inspired by Marvel comics and movies.

The elegant Victorian architecture that guests have come to know when approaching Disneyland Park will remain, while the Disney magic that guests love will be enhanced. The Disneyland Hotel will be infused with a royal theme and become the true kingdom of many favorite Disney Princesses and Princes, from classics like Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, but also recent hits Frozen and Tangled. Guest public areas will be reimagined to pay homage to these beloved films and their characters, while all hotel rooms and suites will be entirely rethemed to offer the most immersive experience. Expect refined, creative décor and magical touches that will surprise the whole family, as only Disney can do.

Guests will be welcomed with unique refinement as soon as they enter the lobby and will stay in rooms and suites with elegant décor celebrating Disney Princesses and Princes.

To meet and exceed the ever-evolving expectations of our guests, the layout of the hotel’s public spaces and equipment in the rooms will also be enhanced to provide improved, personalized services while leveraging the latest technologies for even more comfort. Guests will benefit from a larger pool area, indulge in an expanded spa and dine in updated restaurants and bars – all adding up to the most magical experience at this stunning five-star hotel.

“When it reopens, Disneyland Hotel will offer to our guests an enhanced experience even more worthy of the prestigious French five-star hotel rating,” adds Tomás Feier, General Manager of the Disneyland Hotel. “We are proud to welcome a lot of repeat visitors at our iconic hotel, and we want them to be immersed in a 360-degree experience using the power of beloved Disney fairytales, with an array of brave and kind heroines as a central theme. Fully Vaccinated people must still wear masks at Theme Parks accoring to CDC

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced today that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer need to wear masks outside.

Related – Biden Adminstration to relax outdoor mask requirement

Vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear face masks when walking, hiking, biking, running alone, dining at a restaurant outside, or at small outdoor gatherings. However, masks should still be worn in public settings indoors and outdoors where there is a substantial risk of Covid-19 transmission, such as concerts, sporting events and other crowded gatherings like at theme parks.

Fully Vaccinated people must still wear masks at Theme Parks accoring to CDC

Masks are also still required on all forms of public transportation like planes and in airports, regardless of someone’s vaccination status.

Related – New Bill seeks to override CDC’s cruise regulations to allow sailing soon

These updated guidelines are the next step in moving back towards the normalcy of before the virus. “Until more people are vaccinated, and while [we] still have more than 50,000 cases a day, mask use indoors will provide extra protection,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said. “The more people who are vaccinated, the more steps we can take toward spending time with people we love doing the things we love to enjoy.”

Theme parks like Walt Disney World will continue to have their own health and safety rules in place regardless of changes the CDC makes. For now, face masks are required while you are inside and outside at Disney World.
