Next month the Edison in Disney Springs is hosting a private event in honor of World Whiskey Day. On May 19 the Woodford Bourbon Private Barrel Event will be an electrifying evening you won’t want to miss!
This event will be a spirited celebration of whiskey with specialty beverages and a dedicated pairing menu curated by Executive Chef Deaundra “Dee” Rolle.
A welcome cocktail called the Bahama Berry Smash will open your evening followed by a Woodford signature bourbon barrel sample then lastly by “The Edison,” the restaurant’s signature cocktail made with Edison’s Woodford reserve bourbon barrel, pear brandy, lemon juice, and honey cordial. To complement the drinks, Clothesline Bacon with a Woodford bourbon glaze, a calamari shooter, a duo plate with an Edison beef slider and spareribs (2) with house made slaw, and chocolate cake with Woodford bourbon gelato will be served.
Disney Cruise Line sailings have been suspended through June and we aren’t sure when cruising will return. However, when DCL does resume sailing, Palo and Remy will have new dining options for guests!
Palo and Remy are adult-only, specialty dining restaurants on the Disney Cruise Line ships. Palo is located on all four ships while Remy is only on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
Disney Cruise Line will now offer two dining options at Palo and Remy for dinner: an a la carte menu and a prix fixe menu.
At Palo dinner, guests may choose to order from the prix fixe menu, which includes four courses from a selected menu, or they may order individual items a la carte.
At Remy dinner, guests may choose between the Saveur or Gout tasting prix fixe menus, or they may order individual items a la carte.
Brunch and dessert experiences at Palo and Remy will continue to be offered as a per person cover charge.
The prix fixe menu will be priced at $45 for Palo, an increase from $40, and $125 for Remy, a la carte items will be priced individually. Please note the brunch experience at Palo will increase from $40 to $45.
Platinum Castaway Club guests and those adults in their stateroom will continue to be offered one complimentary meal at Palo, either brunch or dinner; at dinner, the prix fixe menu will be included (regular price of $45 per person). Additional items beyond the prix fixe menu may be added at an additional charge.
When reserving a table at Palo for dinner, guests do not need to pre-select their menu option. The Palo service team will guide guests through the menu so they may choose their dining experience once seated.
All of these changes will begin when Disney Cruise Lineresumes sailing. Palo will reopen with this new structure with the upcoming summer 2021 voyages on the Disney Magicin the UK. Remy will follow when the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy begin sailing.

We are so close to the official Disneyland and Disney California Adventure reopening! Recently, cast members were able to visit the theme parks with their guests before the parks reopen to the public. The magic has returned to the Happiest Place on Earth and we are so excited!
Characters welcomed guests back to Disneyland after the park was closed for over a year. Mickey Mouse himself even opened the gates to welcome guests back! Guests can still see some of their favorite Disney pals, just socially distanced for safety.
Rides and attractions are open and waiting for guests to experience their stories! Haunted Mansion and Snow White’s Enchanted Wish are newly renovated and guests are enjoying the reimagined attractions.
Select restaurants and stores have reopened in the parks along with our favorite popcorn and snack carts! Reservations are open for table service restaurants so grab your advanced dining reservation ASAP.
Guests ages 2 and up visiting Disneyland are required to wear a face mask and keep physically distanced from other parties in the parks. Cast members are also required to wear face coverings.
There are lots of hand sanitizing stations throughout the park as well as signage to help everyone stay safe and healthy.
We are so happy that the magic has returned to Disneyland after the long closure!
Reminder, until further notice only California residents are allowed to visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Guests visiting need to have a park reservation along with valid park admission in order to enter. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will both be open to the public this Friday, April 30, 2021!

Guests heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see new signage out front for one the theme park’s main attractions. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction now has a new sign greeting guests as they get in line for the ride. You can see some photos of the new sign below.

The ride is fun for all ages! Once you step into the cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, you’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. Then, one magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.
Today, Orange County Florida Mayor Jerry Demings announced some changes to the face covering mandate. The changes to the mask mandate will come in three phases.
The first phase is effective immediately and calls for changing social distancing from 6 feet to 3 feet in all settings. This phase also allows fully vaccinated individuals to follow the CDC’s face mask guidelines.
Phase two will start when 50% of the population age 16 and older has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. During this phase, mask mandates for outdoors will be lifted for everyone. Mayor Demings said the county could reach phase two in the next three weeks.
Phase three will become effective when 70% of the county’s population age 16 and older has received their first dose of the vaccine OR when Orange County’s 14-day rolling positivity rate is 5% or below. In phase three all mandates will be lifted.
Disney has not made many changes to its mask policies. Guests are now allowed to remove their masks for outdoor, physically distanced photos. Other than that, Disney’s mask rules remain the same.
Celebrate National Superhero Day with a new ‘Black Widow’ Featurette Starring Scarlett Johansson. To Celebrate National Superhero Day, Marvel Studios has debuted a new featurette that looks back at the illustrious career of Natasha Romanoff. Scarlett Johansson, who reprises her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in “Black Widow,” appears in the featurette to assure fans that “it’s time for her story.” The action-packed spy thriller will launch simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access in most Disney+ markets on July 9, 2021.
Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Joining Johansson in the new feature film are Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina. “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige.

The touching mural for the late Chadwick Boseman that was on display in Downtown Disney has found a new home.

Yesterday, “King Chad,” the heartwarming and beautiful piece of art that was previously displayed in Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort, found its permanent home at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) thanks to its generous donation by concept artist and former Disney Imagineer, Nikkolas Smith. Honoring the life and legacy of Black Panther hero, Chadwick Boseman, this tribute will now bring joy and inspiration to the patients at CHLA.
“It’s just a huge honor for me personally to be able to donate this piece of art to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where I know it will inspire patients going through treatments and serve as a reminder of not only Chadwick’s heart, but also his relatable struggle with cancer,” said Smith. “To see my art getting to live on at such a special place where it can bring hope to others – it is truly one of the greatest gifts I could receive.”
During his 11 years as an Imagineer, Smith worked not only on Disney’s children’s hospital initiatives, but also Avengers Campus, opening at Disneyland Resort on June 4 – making this art and donation even more meaningful to him.
“One of the very first things I did when I joined Disney was taking a tour of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which was incredibly moving for me, especially now as a father,” said Smith. “I was also humbled to visit the set of Black Panther, where I met Chadwick in-person and witnessed his kindness firsthand. Looking at this artwork now, it really married together so many meaningful moments during my time at Disney.”

Add lemon juice, violet syrup, and ice cubes to a blender. Blend together until smooth, like a slushie. Taste your mixture and add more violet syrup to taste.
If you are using food coloring, add it in and give your blender a whirl to combine.
Serve garnished with fresh lemons and edible flowers.
