If you are visiting Disney Springs this week, you might not be able to eat at Chicken Guy. The restaurant will be closed Wednesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 20.
Chicken Guy is a popular spot owned by award-winning and celebrity chef, Guy Fieri. The chicken tenders at Chicken Guy are next-level and the restaurant offers over 20 sauces!
According to the Disney World website, the guest-favorite location will be closed for 2 days this week. Chicken Guy will reopen Friday, May 21, at 11:30 am.
At this time we aren’t sure why the restaurant is closing for a couple of days but speculation is the restaurant is expanding to the building next door.
Is Chicken Guy on your list of favorite Disney Springs dining spots?
The theme parks at the Disneyland Resort reopened at the end of last month. When the parks reopened, capacity was limited to 25%. Now, capacity is increasing to 35%!
Orange County, California has qualified to move to the state’s Yellow tier and restrictions will be loosened starting tomorrow, May 19. Theme parks will be able to increase from 25% capacity to 35%. Being in the yellow tier also means that indoor restaurants on Disneyland Resort property will be able to operate at a 50% capacity.
Orange County is currently in the Orange tier. Moving to the Yellow tier is coming just a week after it was announced that the county reached the threshold to move tiers. Usually, a county has to remain in the threshold for 2 weeks before being able to move.
At this time, Disneyland Resort officials have not made an announcement whether they will be increasing their capacity to 35% beginning tomorrow, but we do know they have the green light to do so as soon as the tier change is in effect.
The Disney Wish will have some truly enchanting spaces onboard. The ship will encompass many different stories from Cinderella to Rapunzel, to Ariel and Belle. What better areas to showcase Beauty and the Beast than some of the dining locations?
If you’ve ever vacationed with Disney Cruise Line before, you know there are dedicated spaces for adults to relax and unwind. Aboard the Disney Wish, the adult dining venues will have a uniquely Disney twist inspired by a tale as old as time.
At Palo Steakhouse, the Disney Cruise Line favorite is evolving and combining authentic Italian cuisine with modern steakhouse fare. As you dine in this sophisticated setting, you’ll notice subtle theming centered around everyone’s favorite punctual and precise clock, Cogsworth! The design of this space features dark wood detailing that is adorned with clockwork-inspired wall art. The layout will offer oversized banquette seating or the option for a more intimate table that will be adjacent to expansive windows offering stunning ocean views.
While Palo Steakhouse is deep and rich in ambience, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement celebrates the light and frivolity of Cogsworth’s quick-witted colleague, Lumiere, boasting a palette of blues and white brought to life through shimmering light fixtures made up of gold and glassy baubles. You’ll discover these elegant design details celebrating the debonair candelabra all while enjoying a gourmet menu created by the three-star-Michelin Chef Lallement. One thing’s for sure, a dinner here will certainly be an illuminating experience!
Both restaurants will feature private dining rooms and will be joined by an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean.
And, of course, we wouldn’t be able to celebrate the story of “Beauty and the Beast” without including one of the most iconic elements in the film – the enchanted rose that started it all. Found at the entrance to Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté, the lounge, appropriately named The Rose, will serve as the perfect setting for a pre-dinner aperitif or after-dinner cocktail.
Venture through Belle’s Library
So far, we’ve only explored the adult-exclusive spaces on the Disney Wish, but Disney has designed something equally as special just for kids! At Disney’s Oceaneer Club, young princes and princesses will be invited to explore Belle’s library as part of the royal trio of activity rooms in Fairytale Hall. There, kids will act out some of their favorite stories with Disney friends. And who knows? They might just meet the courageous princess – an avid book reader herself!
We can’t wait to experience all Disney Cruise Line has to offer onboard the Disney Wish! Will you be sailing on the newest ship? Contact me today to start planning your next Disney cruise!

INGREDIENTS:
Cupcake
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup of all purpose flour
1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) of unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup of sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup of sour cream
Simply Syrup
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of sugar
Chocolate Mousse
2 cups of heavy cream
8 oz of semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chopped
1/4 cup of espresso
4 large egg yolks
3 tbsp of sugar
Chocolate Ganache
12 oz (about 1 1/2 cups) of chopped bittersweet chocolate
1 cup of heavy cream
INSTRUCTIONS:
For Cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 12 cup muffin tin with paper liners and set aside.
Sift cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl, then set aside. Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl, beat with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating until each is completely incorporated before adding the next. Beat in vanilla extract.
With mixer on low speed, alternately add flour mixture and sour cream, beginning and ending with flour.
Pour batter into cups, filling each 3/4 full. Bake for about 22 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For Simple Syrup
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over high heat and bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Remove from heat and cool completely.
For Chocolate Mousse
Heat 3/4 cup cream in a small saucepan until hot. Whisk together egg yolks and sugar, in a medium bowl until well combined. Then add hot cream to egg yolk mixture in a slow stream, whisking until combined.
Transfer mixture to the saucepan and cool over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly, about 4 to 5 minutes. Pour custard through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl; stir in espresso.
Melt chocolate in a double boiler or a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring frequently until melted. Whisk chocolate into egg yolk mixture until smooth. Refrigerate until very cold.
Beat remaining 1 1/4 cups of cream in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until medium-stiff peaks form.
Whisk 1/4 of whipped cream into chocolate custard to lighten mixture, then fold in remaining cream gently until completely incorporated combined but still light.
For Chocolate Ganache
Place chocolate in a medium heat-safe bowl.
Heat cream in a small saucepan until hot (do not boil). Pour cream over chocolate and stir until chocolate melts.
Set aside to cool to room temperature.
To Assemble
Cut out centers of cupcakes using a paring knife held at a 45 degree angle, cutting in a circle to create a cone shape. Remove cupcake centers and set aside.
Brush top of cupcakes with simple syrup or spoon it over top to heavily moisten.
Fill cupcake centers with chocolate mousse. Place cut out cupcake center on top of chocolate mousse, with point of cupcake center facing up. (You can refrigerate any remaining mousse, tightly covered, up to 3 to 4 days).
Pipe chocolate ganache on top of cupcake starting at the outer edges, slowly moving in and up to the top.

See Billy Porter as the Next Fairy Godmother. A new Cinderella remake is currently in production and though we are excited to see singer and actress Camila Cabello as Cinderella, it’s the film’s Fairy Godmother that is snatching the headlines! In an unexpected twist, the studios announced that Billy Porter would play the iconic role of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, renamed “Fab G”.
Porter has shared his approach to playing this magical being is by representing Fab G as a “genderless” character. sharing: “I’m so lucky and blessed to be inside of that [gender] conversation with a character like the fairy godmother. My tagline is ‘magic has no gender,” he explains, “It’s not about gender. It’s about magic and magic is about love…that is really what Cinderella is about. And I hope that everyone will take that message away when they see [the movie] and incorporate it into their lives and how they move through their lives.“
The news of Billy’s casting was met with praise and discontent online, but Porter has shut down the idea that the opinions of fans will change how he approaches the role or his own lifestyle.
“I do not now, nor will I ever, adjudicate my life or humanity on sound bites on social media, let me just say that what people think about me is none of my business.” Billy then firmly stated, “My only purpose on this planet is to be authentic and true to myself and spread as much love as I can possibly spread – that’s all I’m interested in.“

Today Disney World sent out an email to Annual Passholders that might have hinted that Annual Passholder sales might be returning soon. Also in the same email, they let existing Annual Passholders know that will no longer be offering complimentary MagicBands with Annual Pass purchases and renewals.
Let’s take a look at that email:
Dear Valued Passholder,
In March, we introduced Disney MagicMobile service, an easy, more contactless new way to enter the Walt Disney World® theme parks through the power of eligible iPhones, Apple Watch or Google Pay enabled Android phones!
As part of this new service, guests can choose from several Disney-themed MagicMobile Pass designs in the My Disney Experience app—and coming soon be on the lookout for new exclusive designs featuring Orange Bird and Figment just for Annual Passholders. As a reminder, valid park admission and a park reservation are required for park entry.
As more Passholders continue to discover this new option, we will no longer be offering complimentary MagicBands with Annual Pass purchases and renewals made August 16, 2021 and beyond. Annual Passholders will continue to receive a special discount on MagicBands purchased, with even more designs to choose from in the future.
Annual Passholders can continue to use current or newly purchased MagicBands, their Annual Pass Card or Disney MagicMobile pass during their visits. As a reminder, your Annual Pass Card and valid photo ID are required to receive your Annual Passholder discount at participating locations, whether using a MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile service.
As always, we thank you for being part of the Passholder family!
While Disney doesn’t come right out and say that Annual Passholder sales are returning, many fans are speculating that we will see the return of AP sales now that many of the COVID-related guidelines are starting to go away.
One line that really stuck out to me in that email was this:
As more Passholders continue to discover this new option, we will no longer be offering complimentary Magic Bands with Annual Pass purchases and renewals made August 16, 2021 and beyond.
We are closely monitoring for Annual Passholder sales to resume. I know a few writers and family members who would love to pick up a Disney World Annual Pass.
For now this is just speculation, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

Producer Barry Josephson says, “I guess dreams do come true…producing ‘Enchanted’ was the most rewarding film experience I’ve ever had. I’m so excited for Adam Shankman to begin filming ‘Disenchanted.’ I want to thank everyone at Disney for supporting us all the way. Very special thanks to Amy Adams for deciding to play ‘Giselle,’ the character she created again! And we are so fortunate to have this incredible cast!”
“Disenchanted” features the much-anticipated return of Giselle, the princess from the fairy tale world of Andalasia banished to Manhattan who found her real Princess Charming in divorce lawyer Robert Philip. 15 years later, Giselle moves to the suburb of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter Morgan, where she must juggle the challenges that come with a new home and discover what happily ever after truly means to her and her new family.

For nearly 50 years, cast members have been at the heart of making magic at Walt Disney World Resort, bringing countless memories to life for guests and one another. Whether in costume or professionally dressed, cast member nametags provide a sense of pride and personal connection as an iconic part of Disney heritage and culture, both with cast members and guests from around the globe.
As Walt Disney World embarks on celebrating 50 years of magic and memories, a new cast nametag is set to debut, featuring unique elements inspired by “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” that starts Oct. 1, 2021.
A team of graphic artists and costume designers spent more than a year developing the new nametag, testing a number of colors and printing techniques before completing the final design. The new nametags feature several special details:
An exclusive color wash, inspired by the sparkling new 50th anniversary looks for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, was developed and applied with an innovative printing technique and glaze to give each nametag a pearlescent shimmer.
Holographic gold foil with sparkling color-shift elements is individually applied to each nametag, bringing additional shine to the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary logo.
Royal blue lettering matching the turrets of Cinderella Castle brings a regal pop of color to the nametag, ensuring each cast member name and hometown is a focal point against the glistening background.
All of these elements will combine to produce a distinct shine across each nametag, reflecting the EARidescent décor that will be on display across Walt Disney World Resort for the duration of the celebration.
The new nametags will debut later this year, in time for the Oct. 1 start of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” The 18-month event will feature new experiences at the resort’s four theme parks and beyond, where shimmering EARidescent décor will appear as if by magic. More details about the celebration will be announced in the future.
