Disney Door Mats Found At Home Goods

Disney Door Mats
Disney Door Mats

Make an entrance with the new Disney Door Mats at Home Goods! We love finding affordable Disney goodies at places like Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Burlington, etc. Fans have been spotting a variety of fun Disney mats at many different stores, so we had to go on the hunt too!

Selections will vary by store, but we did find quite a few fun ones! There was even a half circle-shaped mat styled after Captain America’s shield! The Cinderella one had a fantastic quote too. What I love most about these finds, is the hunt! You can go to several different stores and find a different selection at each one!

In addition to door mats, we also found a selection of kitchen mats! The kitchen mats are the soft and springy kind, that are helpful at relieving pressure while you stand. We only found them in Minnie styles, but Mickey ones have also been spotted at other Home Goods.

Have you found any Disney Door Mats at your local Home Goods location? Be sure to share the ones you’ve found in the comments so we can see your cool finds! Be sure to check out TJ Maxx too, I spotted some cute mugs the other day!

Florida Governor DeSantis Wins Major Victory to Protect Florida’s Cruise Industry

Florida Governor DeSantis Wins Major Victory to Protect Florida’s Cruise Industry

On Friday the federal district court in Tampa delivered a major victory for Governor Ron DeSantis against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its obstructionist No Sail Orders that have flatlined Florida’s cruise industry for over a year. Ruling in favor of Florida’s Motion for Preliminary Injunction, Judge Steven Merryday concluded the CDC’s restrictions are likely unconstitutional and overstepping their legal authority. The Cruise Industry will soon be permitted to set sail again thanks to the lawsuit brought by Governor DeSantis and Attorney General Moody. The state fought on behalf of the cruise industry in Florida to secure the ability to resume operations without overly burdensome requirements that discriminate against children, leave most of the ships sitting in port, and disregard the freedom of Floridians to make decisions for their families.

Beginning July 18, the CDC’s orders will become mere “guidance,” and cruise ships will hit the open waters once again free from the CDC. As Florida continues to thrive while open for business, the return of the cruise industry marks an important milestone in the fight for freedom.

Florida Governor DeSantis Wins Major Victory to Protect Florida’s Cruise Industry

“The CDC has been wrong all along, and they knew it,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “The CDC and the Biden Administration concocted a plan to sink the cruise industry, hiding behind bureaucratic delay and lawsuits. Today, we are securing this victory for Florida families, for the cruise industry, and for every state that wants to preserve its rights in the face of unprecedented federal overreach.”

Included in the ruling, the Middle District Court of Florida found that:

  • The CDC cannot discriminately keep children and families from cruising;
  • Neither the CDC, nor any federal agency, can require a vaccine passport; and
  • The CDC must create an actual framework for businesses to resume operations, rather than forcing them to conduct burdensome and bureaucratic tests without any standard by which to be measured.

In its ruling, the court says “Never has CDC (or a predecessor) detained a vessel for more than fifteen months; never has CDC implemented a widespread or industry-wide detention of a fleet of vessels in American waters; never has CDC condition pratique as extensively and burdensomely as the conditional sailing order; and never has CDC imposed restrictions that have summarily dismissed the effectiveness of state regulation and halted for an extended time an entire multi-billion dollar industry nationwide. In a word, never has CDC implemented measures as extensive, disabling and exclusive as those under review in this action.

Judge Merryday also cites a previous ruling stating, “When an agency claims to discover in a long-extant statute an unheralded power to regulate ‘a significant portion of the American economy,’ we typically greet its announcement with a measure of skepticism.”

Over the next year, Disney will focus on providing a more seamless, personalized, and franchise-focused eCommerce experience through its shopDisney platform. Which will be complemented by greater integration with Disney Parks apps and social media platforms. This will be coupled with an assortment of new and elevated merchandise. Along with the Company’s full range of brands, including adult apparel collections and artist collaborations. Including, trend-forward streetwear, premium home products, and collectibles.

First-Ever Disney Store is closing

“While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping. The global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, president, Consumer Products Games, and Publishing. “Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time. Such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world. We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”

We are saddened by all these store closings. Where else can a person go to get their Disney fix if you don’t live so close to Cali or Florida? I understand it is simple to shop online. Undoubtedly, the stores were more than just a place to buy Disney merchandise. It was a whole mood. Furthermore, it was fun, brilliant and a great place to feel that Disney vibe. First-Ever Disney Store closing seems like the final nail for the Disney Store.

Gay Days are returning to Disneyland this September

Gay Days are returning to Disneyland

Gay Days are returning to Disneyland this September. The move comes after a year-long hiatus and has been in the works since 2018. Previously, Gay Days have been celebrated in October, but with the increase in demand for Halloween, the move is smart. What started off in 1998 with just 2300 members of the LGBTQ+ community has become one of the largest gatherings, with a crowd of over 30000 expected. Redshirts are Fierce!

This year’s Gay Days will be happening from September 17-19. Firstly, Friday is arrival day. Secondly, Saturday is all about Disneyland. Sunday is reserved for Disney California Adventure. Moreover, the Disneyland event typically features a scavenger hunt. Along with, attraction takeovers on the Mark Twain Riverboat and at the Enchanted Tiki Room. This followed by, a massive group photo in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Lunch normally takes place at four Disneyland restaurants: Plaza Inn, Alien Pizza Planet, Rancho del Zocalo, and Hungry Bear.

Cocktail mixers, stage shows, TV show screenings, games. Also, trivia and book signings and Disney celebrity appearances take place outside the park. The big parties include Wonderland (Friday), Kingdom (Saturday), and Plunge (Sunday by the pool).

We will mention this in passing, it should be noted that Gay Days is not an officially sponsored event by Disneyland. However, Disney will normally do special merchandise and treats, and snacks. I will let ya in on a small secret. Even though Disneyland does not sponsor or recognize Gay Days as an official event, Gay Days are sponsored by Disney’s Aulani Hotel, Adventures by Disney, Disney Vacation Club, and Disney Pride, the company’s LGBT diversity group.

Disney VoluntEARS kick off the Great Big Backpack Build

Disney VoluntEARS Backpack build

Disney VoluntEARS kick off the Great Big Backpack Build. Clearly, school just ended here in central Florida and already the VoluntEARS are thinking about next year. Walt Disney World Cast and Community took to social media to share photos and details about the “Great Big Backpack Build”.

“Summer is almost here, but our Disney VoluntEARS have their sights set on the back-to-school season! Recently, they stopped by A Gift For Teaching to help kick off the Great Big Backpack Build by filling hundreds of backpacks with essential school supplies for students in Central Florida. The organization has a goal of filling 15,000 backpacks, so we encourage interested Walt Disney World Cast Members to visit the HUB to learn how they can participate.” You can see the whole Facebook post below.

According to the National Education Association, teachers spend an average of $500 a year on school supplies out of pocket. A Gift For Teaching is a nonprofit organization. That provides free school supplies and resources to teachers and their students in underserved areas of Orange and Osceola counties.

“I think because of the economic impact on our community, so many more families are still struggling to recover from the pandemic. Losing their jobs or maybe just getting back on their feet,” said A Gift For Teaching President Jane Thompson.

Teachers and community members are coming together to show their appreciation by volunteering for the event. Importantly, this is where VoluntEARS comes in. Helping stuff 15000 backpacks full of supplies.

Despite the Cast members going through their own struggles. This past year, we have indeed seen them helping others out more and more. Spreading Pixie dust is just their thing! This year has shown us how magical Cast members truly are. I will thank them personally every time I see them for all this magical work they are doing outside the parks.

The Great Big Backpack Build will continue over the next few weeks. Furthermore, volunteers continue stuffing thousands of backpacks that will be distributed to students in need before the next school year.
