New Details on Disneyland Annual Passholder Program replacement coming tomorrow!

Introducing the Magic Key program!

Disneyland dropped the Annual Passholder Program back in January, they stopped selling passes and offered refunds for those with valid annual passes.

Here’s the statement issued by Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland Resort when they discontinued the program:

“For nearly four decades, our Annual Passport program has been an important part of connecting with some of our most valued Guests. We are incredibly honored and grateful for that legacy, and the memories and magical moments you have helped us create over the years.

It’s because you’ve played such an important part in the history of the Disneyland Resort that I personally wanted to share this news with you. In the next several days, we will begin the process of issuing appropriate refunds for eligible Disneyland Resort Annual Passports and sunsetting the current Annual Passport program due to the continued uncertainty of the pandemic and limitations and expected restrictions around the reopening of our theme parks.

I know that sunsetting the Annual Passport program will be disappointing to many of our Passholders who are just as anxious as we are to reopen our gates and welcome Guests back when the time is right. But we are also very excited about what’s ahead.

We plan to use this time while we remain closed to develop new membership offerings that will utilize consumer insights to deliver choice, flexibility and value for our biggest fans. Once we have more information to share about future membership offerings, our Passholders will be the first to hear from us as we embark on this next chapter.”

Delicious Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich Recipe To Make At Home!

Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich
Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich

Today is national ice cream sandwich day! So of course we wanted to add a touch of magic to it with a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich recipe!

This frozen treat has been a classic at Disney Parks around the world, and honestly we are not surprised, i mean is ice cream between two chocolate cookies plus is Mickey shaped!!

If you are missing this Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich and can’t wait until your next Disney vacation, no worries, we have a recipe so you can make it at home and feel the magic of Disney! Take a look at the recipe:

MICKEY ICE CREAM SANDWICH

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 cup of cake flour
  • 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 14 tbsp of dairy-free margarine or shortening
  • Mickey cookie cutter (if available)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Place everything except the margarine into a food processor and pulse a few times to mix.
  • Slice the margarine into the food processor bowl. Pulse about 8-10 times until the margarine is well blended and comes together into a ball.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  • Roll out to 1/4″ thickness and cut into shapes using your Mickey cookie cutter.
  • Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F while the cookies freeze.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. They should puff up, then flatten out. When they start smelling good, they’re probably ready.
  • Let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving to a cooling rack, they’re pretty fragile when hot.
  • When cool, you can fill them with ice cream and freeze. Because the cookies are crisp, make sure the whole sandwich is well-frozen before eating, otherwise the ice cream slides out when you take a bite.

Enjoy!

It’s a small world clock in the Magic Kingdom gets a makeover

It's a small world clock in the Magic Kingdom

It’s a small world clock in the Magic Kingdom gets a makeover. When “it’s a small world” was refurbished back in 2005, the Imagineers at Disney decided that the facade should match Disneyland’s version. They painted everything in a white and gold color scheme in the queue area, that matched its west coast rendition. Looks like that experiment is over.

We were at the Magic Kingdom yesterday and got a chance to see the new color scheme and facade of the world-famous clock tower. It is enjoyable to watch and look at the clock with the new colors added. Overnight a facelift happened and the clock tower now has many different shades of blue and has a splash of glitter in some of the moving parts. Moreover, this makes the tower eye-catching and fun to see. The gold remains on some parts also.

Below you can watch the Instagram post we shared. We were there exactly at 3:45 PM when the striking clock went off. We got to see the tower open and the bells start chiming.

The refurbishment is all part of the Walt DIsney World Resort 50th anniversary. The folks at Disney have been doing an amazing job getting the park in tip-top shape for guests who are coming to celebrate “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.”

Disney begins talks with Unions on requiring Vaccines for all Cast Members

Disney begins talks with Unions on requiring Vaccines for all Cast Members

Disney recently announced that all of its salaried and non-union hourly Cast Members in the U.S. would be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Now the company is in talks with unions to require all cast members be vaccinated.

Disney begins talks with Unions on requiring Vaccines for all Cast Members

The health and safety of employees has always been a top priority for Disney. Now, it seems the company wants to extend that health and safety reach.

Unite Here Local 362 president Eric Clinton told the Orlando Sentinel that Disney wants to bargain with the union about mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations. United Here Local 362 represents 9,000 attractions and custodial workers at Walt Disney World. Clinton also said that union members have been surveyed and there is support for everyone getting vaccinated.

Disney begins talks with Unions on requiring Vaccines for all Cast Members

Unions representing cast members at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have posted on Facebook regarding the COVID-19 vaccination talks. The posts are pretty vague, however. Workers United Local 50, a Disneyland union, posted the following:

“COVID UPDATE 7/30
Disney has announced it will require all salary and non-union hourly employees to vaccinate. We will begin conversations with Disney regarding mandatory vaccination of Union members in the coming weeks. We will keep everyone posted as this develops.
In solidarity,
Chris Duarte
Workers United Local 50 Vice President”

Disney begins talks with Unions on requiring Vaccines for all Cast Members

A union representing Walt Disney World cast members, Local 737, also shared a message on Facebook:

“We have seen Disney’s statement regarding mandatory vaccination for salaried and non-union employees. We will meet with Disney next week to discuss how this policy will apply to unionized employees. We will post information for union members here as soon as we have it.”

Keep in mind, as of right now only salaried and non-union cast members are required to get the vaccine. Union cast members and guests are not being asked to show proof of vaccination at either of the U.S. Disney theme park resorts.

What do you think of this new requirement for Disney employees?
