Retiring Carol Stein the Piano Lady Enters to Standing Ovation at Epcot’s Rose and Crown
Back in September, we shared the news that the Piano Lady – Carol Stein would be retiring from Walt Disney World in November.
Today while dining at Rose & Crown for lunch our own Piano Man Mr. Marc Valentine happen to catch Carol coming into the Rose & Crown for one of her final performances as a Disney Cast Member.
Carol is set to retire on November 5th as a Disney World Cast Member and this was her last performance in Epcot. She has been a Disney Cast member for the past 32 years sharing her music and song with countless visitors from around the world.
She had this to say about her retirement:
I look forward to spending more time with my amazing husband, Lee Wolfson, as we begin an exciting new phase of our lives together….. enjoying life, traveling the world …. performing concerts, composing, and many more exciting new endeavors!

Disney Updates Same Day Dining Reservation Cancellation Policy in My Disney Experience
Disney has just updated the Same Day Dining Reservations Cancellation Policy for Walt Disney World! Previously guests were unable to make same-day cancellations in the My Disney Experience App instead they would have to call Disney or pay the $10 No Show Fee.
However, now Disney has changed the same-day cancellation policy!!! Guest can now cancel their Disney World Dining Reservation up to 2 hours before their reservation time on the My Disney Experience app without a penalty or having to call Disney!
Note this does not apply to pre-paid meals.
The Walt Disney World Website still states guests must cancel at least one day before the reservation, but we expect the wording will be changing soon.
You must cancel at least one day prior to your reservation to avoid a per-person cancellation fee. If you fail to cancel timely and are a no-show, the credit card provided at the time of the reservation will be charged $10.00 per person.
Are you excited about the change in the Same Day Dining Reservation Cancellation Policy? I know for me there are many times I am unable to make my Disney Dining Reservation or just am not feeling what I booked many months before my vacation.

Today while at the 2022 RunDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Expo we spotted this super cute Wine & Dine Loungefly!

Starting with the 2022 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend, runDisney will switch to a virtual queue system for guests to purchase merchandise. For the first time, runDisney is bringing the magic of virtual queues to attendees looking to purchase event weekend merchandise on the first day of the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo.
Attendees will be able to spend more time enjoying their Expo experience and visiting with Expo vendors, all while waiting in line for merchandise, virtually.
Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Returns November 5th with 6 Million Lights
With several new lighting displays across its 160 acres, Dollywood theme park—the 14-time winner for Best Theme Park Christmas Event—now boasts more than 6 million shining, shimmering lights as part of the popular Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (Nov. 5- Jan 1, 2023).
Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas which easily can be described as one of America’s favorite Christmas traditions shines brightly thanks to the warmth of gleaming holiday lights, award-winning stage productions, Christmas culinary masterpieces, and the warm family traditions so many guests have enjoyed throughout the festival’s 30-plus years.
“I believe each season in the Smokies is a precious gift from above, but I also know there is no better time than Christmas to experience the magic of this special place,” Dolly Parton explained. “Christmas is a time for new memories to be created, cherished family traditions to be celebrated and the love of the holidays to warm us all.”
“It is my wish that our guests celebrate the light of the Christmas season while they are here with us at Dollywood. I also hope they pause long enough to savor the moments spent with one another. It’s those special moments that are sure to become the beautiful memories they will look upon so fondly for so many years.”
Dollywood truly sparkles this Christmas season with new lighting elements throughout the park providing an element of surprise to guests around every corner, even for those aboard the Dollywood Express. Visitors riding the guest-favorite attraction will enjoy a special light show draped across the field located inside the train’s upper turning loop. Another new lighted area is the Village Pass, which features a 130’ light curtain wall that includes programmed movement. This area leads guests from lower Craftsman’s Valley to The Village. Adventures in Imagination shines in pink, platinum and gold decorations—as well as 60 LED butterflies and a new 20’ ft. tall Christmas tree—in an area fittingly called Dolly’s Christmas.
Guests will find hundreds of additional lighted trees throughout the park this year, as well as more new décor elements and eight different light zones to provide each area of Dollywood its own unique look and feel. The new elements add 1 million lights to the park’s already-impressive total, meaning guests will enjoy 6 million lights during this season’s festival.
Returning this year on Friday and Saturday evenings is the “Merry & Bright!” fireworks display, which provides a sparkling ending to the day. “Merry & Bright!” lights the sky above Dollywood with a display set to the rhythm of upbeat contemporary holiday hits. After Christmas, the music changes to help guests ready to ring in the new year. Additionally, the New Year’s version of the show takes place nightly Dec. 26- Jan. 1.
In one of the most unique experiences during the Christmas season at Dollywood, Old Saint Nick allows visitors a sneak peek into his little cabin in the Smokies. Guests who visit Santa’s cabin can literally see inside as he reviews…the list! Kids discover whether their names are on the naughty or nice list, and they might even have their photo made as they peer through the window during this once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch Santa at work. Santa goes on a well-deserved vacation after Christmas Day, so families wanting to see him in action shouldn’t wait!
Glacier Ridge fills Dollywood’s Timber Canyon, Wildwood Grove, Wilderness Pass and Upper Craftsman’s Valley with an expansive arctic experience sure to inspire and delight guests. Wilderness Pass serves as one of the highlights of Glacier Ridge thanks to the Wonderful Christmas! Plaza Tree Show, which features a 50-ft. tall animated tree sparkling to life to present a fully-synchronized, dazzling light show throughout the evening. Holiday Windows Arrive at the Magic Kingdom for 2022
Holiday Windows has returned to the Magic Kingdom for the 2022 Holiday Season! Often overlooked due to all of the Holiday Decorations up and down the Magic Kingdom and of course the Giant Christmas Tree, Disney has started decorating the Holiday Windows on Main Street USA.
So far we have only found two windows on Main Street, one features Pluto in his Christmas outfit with the new Mickey, Minnie, and Chip & Dale Plush Stocking Plush. The second window has Mickey Bringing the Merry with some miscellaneous Christmas gifts.
We expect to see more Holiday Windows to be complete in the next week or so… Stay tuned!

Shingles going up on Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian. It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year, and holiday cheer is already in the air at Walt Disney World Resort. This yuletide season, guests can celebrate in the merriest way with festive sights and experiences, jolly new flavors, plus the return of fan-favorite events. We got to watch some of the Holiday being constructed at Disney’s Grand Floridian today with the first shingles going up on the Gingerbread house.
The amount of time it takes for Cast Members to construct one of the largest gingerbread houses at Walt Disney World Resort is very impressive. Yesterday, work started on the laying of the shingles, and the store does not actually open until November 9th. Crews will be working on the house up till the time it actually opens. That is 8 days total of work on this awesome Holiday feature.

Baby White Rhino Ranger Celebrates his 2nd Birthday at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s baby white rhino Ranger recently celebrated his 2nd birthday at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Ranger is the oldest of the white rhino calves and he celebrated his birthday with a fun enrichment.
Dr. Mark Penning shared the birthday celebration on Instagram:
“Happy birthday, Ranger! 🎉 🦏
The oldest of the white rhino calves turned two last week and celebrated with a spooky box train created by his keepers. He loved looking in the boxes to find hay!”
How cute is baby Ranger? He’s only two years old but looks so much bigger than that!

All Guests on Disney Cruise Line Will No Longer be Required to Test for COVID-19
Disney Cruise Line has updated its health & safety policies once again. Beginning November 14, guests will no longer be required to test for Covid-19. This new policy will apply to all sailings departing from the United States.
Beginning Nov. 14, 2022, for sailings departing from the United States, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests (regardless of vaccination status) to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to sailing. Disney Cruise Line continues to highly recommend that all Guests be fully vaccinated and encourages unvaccinated Guests to take a COVID-19 test two days prior to sailing.
Guests booked on sailings departing from the U.S. Nov. 14, 2022, through Jan. 31, 2023, may modify or cancel their sailing by Nov. 13, 2022 without any Disney-imposed cancellation fees. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply for any cancellation or modification requests received on or after Nov. 14, 2022.
Guest must still complete the Online Check-in beginning 30 days prior to their sailing. You will need to submit the required documents as well as select a Port Arrival Time. All Guests, including Platinum Castaway Club Guests, will need to select a Port Arrival Time. Please be aware that Guests will not be permitted at the terminal or in parking areas before their scheduled arrival time. Guests who arrive early will be asked to return at their scheduled arrival time. Online Check-in can be completed or modified up to one day prior to sailing. After completing Online Check-in, you will receive a Port Arrival Form by email. Bring this with you to the port to expedite your arrival.

Great news for those eagerly awaiting the return of Grogu and the Mandalorian! A new report indicates we may now know the release date of Season Three’s premiere.
According to a recent report from Making Star Wars, sources have told the site that the tentative release date for The Mandalorian Season 3 is set for February 22, 2023.
They’re also reporting that Lucasfilm will drop a trailer for The Mandalorian on Christmas Day.
The third season will show the Mandalorian and Grogu on a new journey. The teaser shown at Star Wars Celebration shows several returning faces for the Disney+ series. Not many details are revealed yet for the story, but we know it includes a trip to the planet Mandalore! Our hero is seeking forgiveness for removing his helmet, which is a violation of his creed, by going to the planet.
Currently, Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) has been cast in season three. During the Mandalorian portion of the Lucasfilm panel, Sackhoff confirmed that her character Bo-Katan would be making a return, teasing that she “may have some unfinished business.”
