Disney World Testing Happily Ever After Fireworks Tonight Tonight, on March 9th, Disney will be testing fireworks at the Magic Kingdom between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Disney sent out this community update to apologize to their Neighbors and Guests for this late-night inconvenience.

Disney Cruise Lines Lighthouse Point Opening to Guests in 2024 Disney Cruise Line guests will soon have a new destination offering to choose from. Lighthouse Point, located in the Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera, is described by Disney as a “vibrant island retreat” that “will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.”

Tron Lightcycle Run Post Show Area is Now Open Disney has allowed Cast Members and Annual Passholders previews of the new TRON Lightcycle Run attraction. Guests exiting the ride were greeted by a mysteriously curtained-off section that had most thinking would be a gift shop.

Bob Iger is Looking at Buying Out Comcast’s Stake in Hulu. The Walt Disney Company CEO spoke during a Morgan Stanley investors call yesterday about the future of the Parks and how price increases may have gone too far. Furthermore, he discussed pricing and Disney +, then switched directions and made some comments about the future of Disney’s ownership of Hulu.

In a Variety Report from the meeting, they had this roundup to share.

Regarding the fate of Hulu, Iger reiterated that the company is continuing to examine whether Disney will seek to buy out Comcast’s 33% stake in Hulu or whether it will look to exit the streamer. “We are really studying the business very, very carefully,” he said.

He called Hulu “a solid platform” with strong original programming and library content, which is also a very attractive platform for advertisers. “But the environment is very, very tricky right now and before we make any big decisions about our level of investment, our commitment to that business, we want to understand where it could go,” Iger said.

Disney Raises $1.5 Million for Make-A-Wish with Limited-Edition 50th Anniversary License Plate 

As part of the Disney World 50th anniversary celebration, Disney launched a Limited-Edition 50th Anniversary License Plate. The company has raised $1.5 million for Make-A-Wish with that special license plate. With the anniversary celebration coming to a close, you only have a couple weeks left to purchase the license plate.

As the 50th Anniversary celebration comes to a close later this month, now is your last chance to be part of Disney history and take a piece of The World’s Most Magical Celebration with you everywhere you go before this special EARidescent Cinderella Castle design goes away forever. Supplies for this themed specialty license plate are limited, so we encourage interested car owners to get yours now through your local County Tax Collector’s Office (in person or online) or license plate agencies (DMVs) across the State of Florida.  

I’m thrilled to share that to-date, more than $1.5 million has been raised for Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida through purchases of this EARidescent plate, which will help the organization create treasured memories for families and children with life-threatening medical conditions. This is in addition to the more than $6 million in grants we’ve given to organizations across Central Florida since the start of the 50th Anniversary celebration. We’ve also supported more than 60 other nonprofits in that time through programs like Disney VoluntEARS, which enables cast members to donate their time and talents to local organizations in need.  

Of course, the magic isn’t going away anytime soon, because the specialty Walt Disney World Resort license plate will continue with a fresh new design featuring Cinderella Castle expected to debut this summer! While the design will be revealed at a later date, I can share that proceeds from the specialty plate will continue to go directly to Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida and their work granting wishes.  

Disney has been working with Make-A-Wish since 1980, and since then, more than 145,000 Disney-inspired wishes have been granted, including thousands taking place each year at Walt Disney World. We are honored to continue supporting their inspiring mission while bringing a little extra pixie dust to our neighborhoods and roadways.

More details on the Tron Lightcycle Run Virtual Queue Revealed

TRON Lightcycle Run is opening in just a few weeks! We know there will be a Tron Lightcycle Run virtual queue and today we’ve got more information about that.

When Tron Lightcycle Run opens on April 4, guests will have two ways to get on the ride: Individual Lightning Lane and Virtual Queue. Here’s what Disney has announced for the Virtual Queue:

Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to enter this attraction. A standby queue will not be available. Each Guest can request to enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.

Guests must have valid admission and a theme park reservation to join the virtual queue. There will be 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run:

7:00 AM (Guests do not need to be in the park when they join, but must have a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom park)
1:00 PM (Guests must be in Magic Kingdom park to join the virtual queue)

Extended Evening Theme Park Hours

An additional opportunity to request to join the virtual queue will be available at 6:00 PM on select dates during extended evening theme park hours––a benefit for registered Guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort or other select hotels. Guests with this benefit do not need to be in Magic Kingdom park to request to join at that time.

These Guests will need valid admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience extended evening hours—or they may experience extended evening hours if they have a ticket or Annual Pass with the Park Hopper option and first enter the park for which they made their reservation.

This vanilla cupcake is a Dole Whip Pineapple Cheesecake, with Pineapple Buttercream and white chocolate decor.

The adorable pineapple is decorated with crispy peals with a little sprinkle of glitter pixie dusted on top. You can never have enough glitter right?

White chocolate leaves sprout up from the cupcake.

New Logos Revealed for Universal Orlando Resort

Logos have been updated for Universal Studios-Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Citywalk

The rebranding of Universal Parks and Resorts to Universal Destinations & Experiences is being accompanied by refreshed logos for the Universal Orlando Resort.

The new logos provide a modern aesthetic while retaining many elements of the original logos, such as the compass in the Islands of Adventure Logo and the globe in the Universal Studios-Florida logo. The iconic Universal globe shape is present in some manner within the logos for the three parks-Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.

The logo for Epic Universe, which was just recently released, was not included in the updates.

Cowboy Chicken is Now Open at Margaritaville in Kissimmee

Cowboy Chicken Brings it Home

Cowboy Chicken has just opened its first location in Florida.

The new bbq restaurant is located in the Margaritaville Kissimmee/Orlando location in The Promenade at Sunset Walk district making it an ideal place to grab a hot meal just outside the theme parks.

Just minutes off Disney property this new eaterie offers a great selection of BBQ and has quite a few healthy options to boot.

Rotisserie Chicken Made Fresh

Cowboy Chicken marinates their chicken for two days before cooking it in a wood-fired rotisserie. Walking in the door the first thing you see and smell is the line of rotisserie chicken being cooked to perfect deliciousness. The chicken is coated with a dry rub of seasonings that give the chicken a flavorful crispy skin. The inside of the chicken is juicy and perfectly cooked.

Cowboy Plates

Eat like a real cowboy with bbq chicken and brisket offerings that include two sides and one delicious dinner roll. You can even choose enchiladas or drumsticks as your main. Veggie lovers can forgo the meat and choose from three sides and a roll.

Wild West Sides

They offer quite a large selection of sides in both individual and Texas-sized servings.

Their Twice Baked Potatoes reminded me of another famous restaurant’s cheesy hashbrowns but these took the crown.

Their baked mac & cheese is creamy and cheesy with a light sprinkle of breadcrumbs on top.

Other offerings include Ranchero Beans, French Fries, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Spanish Rice, Garden Salad, Roasted Broccoli, Mexican Street Corn, and Creamed Spinach.

Salads & Bowls

There are four types of salads to choose from.

Monterey Salad with rotisserie chicken, chopped greens, avocado, cilantro, tomatoes, cheese crisps, chicken cracklins, and chili lime dressing.

Southwest Salad with chopped greens, rotisserie chicken, ranchero beans, tomatoes, onions, roasted onion, cilantro, cheese, tortilla strips, and ranch.

Keto Green Bowl with rotisserie chicken, roasted broccoli, green beans, kale, chicken cracklins, crispy fried kale, and chipotle ranch.

Durango Bowl with Rotisserie Chicken, ranchero beans, Spanish rice, roasted tomatoes/onions/corn, cucumber, salsa, and avocado sauce.

Sandwiches

Sandwich options include Buffalo, BBQ Chicken, Brisket, and the Laredo which comes with chicken, chicken cracklins, guacamole, chipotle mayo, and melted cheese. Sandwiches are served on toasted buns and come with one side each.

Family Meals

You can even order family meals to take back to your resort. Their “Chicken for Four” meal comes with comes with three Texas-sized side items and rolls for $34.00. The “Chicken for Six” meal includes four Teaxs-sized sides, and rolls, for $45.00. You won’t be able to beat that on property.

You can also choose from, Brisket and a chicken and brisket combo.

Desserts

I opted for the peach cobbler and I was not disappointed! The crumble-on cobbler was not only tasty but there was just the ratio of cobbler to peaches. I would defiantly get this again.

Other desserts include Banana Pudding, a Fudge Nut Brownie, a Scoop of Ice Cream, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie with a secret flavor ingredient.

The chocolate chip cookie has crushed graham crackers in it giving it an extra unexpected flavor that works so well.

Drinks

Fountain sodas, flavored tea, and lemonade options are offered.

Homemade lemonades include Strawberry Lemonade, Old fashioned lemonade, and for the adventurous a Cucumber Jalapeno Lemonade.

Decor and Seating

The decor is a touch rustic with a clean modern look.

Cherry colorful orange umbrella tables and chairs sit just out front of the restaurant. The seating inside is limited but additional seating is available just outside the doors to the rear left as well.

Inside both booths and tables and chairs, as well as a small area with barstools are available in the air conditioning. However, if you visit in the evening you may be able to enjoy hearing one of the live bands play across the way.

My experience at Cowboy Chicken was phenomenal. The food was top-notch. The selections were plentiful. Healthy options mean there is something for everyone.

The staff was over-the-top friendly in the best of ways from the moment we walked in. We enjoyed chatting with everyone as much as we enjoyed our meal. We will be going back frequently.

Go Under The Sea Adventures With This Little Mermaid Ariel Doll!

A new Little Mermaid Ariel Doll is now available for pre-order just in time for the release of Disney’s Little Mermaid Live Action movie in May. You can get yours on Amazon or Target for $14.99! The doll will officially release on April 23, 2023.

The doll is stunning with wavy and braided cooper red hair that looks gorgeous, princess hair goals for sure! She also features her iconic outfit with top and mermaid tail in purple, blue and green iridescent tones, so cute.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort Lobby Receives a Colorful Update

Disney’s Polynesian Lobby Updated

Disney’s Polynesian lobby has been getting some refreshing with new soft goods and textiles. Recently we saw some new rugs being added to the area. A large colorful orange hibiscus pattern with soft blue/green and sandy beige colors blends well with its surroundings.

Bench Seats Recovered

Just outside the Bou Tiki Gift Shop, we can see that this little bench nook has received new coverings.

Just around the corner from the shop in the lobby, we can see more bench seating with the same updated coverings.

The new fabric pattern is abstract but uses colorful natural tones that complement the lobby’s interior.

On the right-hand side of the lobby, we see a large bench seat with the fabric updates.

More Changes on the Way

The Polynesian is currently in the process of building a DVC Tower which is currently set to open sometime in late 2024. The theming of the new DVC Tower is based on early conceptual photos of the Polynesian Resort lending itself to a retro yet updated look with modern amenities with a classic Polynesian feel.

I love the fresh, clean, and relaxed feel of the Polynesian Resorts Lobby. All I need is a Dole Whip in hand and I am in heaven.
