New aerial photos from bioreconstruct reveal that the former Rivers of America has been completely filled in, with Tom Sawyer Island still faintly visible by its outline, now covered in sand and gravel as construction crews prepare the ground for what is coming next.

The area designated for Piston Peak National Park appears to be almost entirely cleared, with large construction vehicles spread throughout the site. This Cars-themed land will stretch from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad toward the Haunted Mansion, transforming the park’s frontier edge into a national park-inspired environment with a Pixar twist. The land will feature towering rockwork, waterfalls, a large geyser, barrel bridges, and two attractions, including a rally-style race ride and a more family-friendly experience. Disney has also shared that architecture will gradually shift from Frontierland style into playful “Car-itecture” to maintain sightlines and storytelling flow.

A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against Disney seeking $50,000 in damages after an alleged slip-and-fall incident near the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village. The lawsuit, filed in December 2025 in Orange County Circuit Court, claims the incident happened on March 9, 2025, when the guest says she tripped and fell on a wet substance believed to be water near the edge of the pool area.

According to the filing, Broward County resident Luisa Hanfling alleges she sustained serious injuries after slipping without warning. The lawsuit argues that Disney failed to properly maintain the area in a reasonably safe condition and did not adequately warn guests of a potentially dangerous situation that it knew or should have known about.

The complaint lists a wide range of claimed damages, including permanent bodily injury, physical pain and mental suffering, disability and impairment, loss of enjoyment of life, aggravation of existing conditions, medical expenses, lost wages, and diminished earning capacity. The lawsuit states that these losses are permanent or ongoing and will continue into the future.

Hanfling is seeking $50,000 in damages from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. This lawsuit follows another recent legal filing involving a guest who tripped over trolley tracks at Magic Kingdom, adding to a growing list of personal injury claims connected to Walt Disney World properties.

New aerial photos show early construction activity underway behind The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, marking what appears to be the first physical sign of an eventual expansion to the land. The activity is focused beind Place Cachée, where the once grassy expansion pad now shows cleared ground and early prep work.

According to images shared by bioreconstruct, the expansion pad has been stripped of foliage, with black tarps stretched across sections of land and supported by wooden stakes near a backflow prevention assembly. On the opposite side of the pad, spray-painted red and orange markings have appeared on dirt and pavement, likely indicating utility lines for electrical and communications fiber. These color-coded markings often signal that excavation work is not far behind.

While the visible changes are still small, they line up with a previously filed Universal permit for 150,000 square feet of new construction tied directly to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. The work is currently happening near the back corner of the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry show building, hinting that Universal is laying the groundwork for something much bigger.

The current Holiday Dine wraps up on January 4, making way for a full year of themed outfits and all-day character dining fun.

First up is the Silver Screen Dine, running from January 5 through March 10, 2026. During this glamorous stretch, Minnie and friends step out in their Hollywood best, celebrating classic movie magic and old-school Tinseltown vibes. It is a perfect fit for Hollywood Studios and a fun way to kick off the year with a little extra dazzle.

Most of the concrete floor has now been poured for the massive show building, nearly filling in the rectangular footprint carved out behind the former Muppets Courtyard. This area previously served as a Cast Member parking lot, but it is now firmly on its way to becoming Disney’s next monster-sized attraction.

New images shared by aerial photographer bioreconstruct show construction vehicles lined up along the site, with tarps covering freshly poured concrete as crews prep additional sections. Workers are also busy forming and cutting concrete pillars that were drilled deep into the ground and trimmed to precise height before the surrounding dirt was leveled and filled. In short, the foundation phase is well underway and moving fast.

Over in what used to be Muppets Courtyard, changes are quieter but still telling. The exterior of MuppetVision 3D is being stripped of its familiar theming, with panels removed to reveal the stonework beneath. This backstage makeover is setting the stage for new monstrous details as the area transitions into its next identity.

The new land is expected to be called Monstropolis, inspired by the city from Monsters, Inc.. The headline attraction will be Disney’s first suspended coaster and its first vertical lift, taking guests into the famous door vault alongside Mike, Sulley, and Boo. With concrete now largely in place, this project is officially out of the scare floor and into full scream factory mode.
