Marvel Releasing Digital Copies of ‘Avenging Spider-Man’ Issues 1-3 With Purchase of the Issues

Marvel Releasing Digital Copies of 'Avenging Spider-Man' Issues 1-3 With Purchase of the Issues

Marvel has recently unveiled their new Spider-Man series, ‘Avenging Spider-Man’, and have come up with a new promotion to roll out. Starting with issues one of the series, each will come with a code to download a digital copy of the issue as well to take with you on the go wherever you go. It’s a pretty cool idea for those who like to read on the go, so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Hit the jump for the press release.

AVENGING SPIDER-MAN #1, 2 & 3—Now With Codes For Free Digital Copy!

As a result of the overwhelming support for the Avenging Spider-Man #1 With Free Digital Code* free digital copy promotion, Marvel is proud to announce that now every issue of Avenging Spider-Man’s action packed first arc, will be polybagged with a code for a FREE digital copy! So when you purchase any print copy of Avenging Spider-Man #1, #2 AND #3 from the blockbuster creative team of Zeb Wells & Joe Madureira, you’ll get a free digital copy of that issue on the Marvel Comics app (for iOS and Android devices) at no extra cost!

“At New York Comic Con we heard from fans and retailers that this was the most exciting digital comics move of the year because of the added value it gives every copy of Avenging Spider-Man,” said David Gabriel, Marvel SVP of Sales. “Based on initial orders of over 100,000 units for the first issue—and the steady increase in orders since we’ve begun promotion on this plan—we knew that including a code for a free digital copy in future issues of Avenging Spider-Man not only excites our retailers, but incentivizes fans to come into stores for one of the year’s hottest new releases. It’s a win-win for everyone with no extra cost to readers and an increased revenue share for retailers.”

This November, no fan can miss the release of Avenging Spider-Man #1, available in stores with free digital copy and on the Marvel Comics app.

The “Comforts of Home” are never far away at Disney World

The "Comforts of Home" are never far away at Disney World
A vacation to Walt Disney World is a great time to be adventurous and try new and exciting things. For many of us, that’s the best part of a vacation….but not everyone feels that way. Humans are creatures of habit, and we like our routines. Luckily, WDW recognizes this, and has built not only a beautiful resort, but a true “home away from home” for everyone to enjoy.

Food is a big thing when you’re away from home – I know I LOVE trying new WDW restaurants, but I know that by about my 3rd breakfast buffet, my boring old daily toast will start to look real good….luckily, there are many WDW resorts that have villa areas within them, which are larger rooms/suites with kitchenettes built in, so should you want to save some money on food costs or just have your regular breakfast routine while on vacation, Disney has you covered (oh, and don’t worry – in addition to smaller grocery stores within the resort, there are also larger stores close outside Disney property where you can buy what you need)

Healthy food can also be an issue when traveling, and luckily Disney makes it easy, many of the restaurants and counter service locations have healthy items on the menu, from vegetarian to grilled to low fat foods, there is something for everyone (for specifics on where to eat healthy at WDW, check out my post on healthy eating at WDW. Disney also does a great job catering to those with special diets, check out their official information on dietary restrictions

If spending all day walking around the parks doesn’t do it for you, there are many other ways Disney helps you stick to your Exercise routine. Many of the resorts rent bikes, and many also have extensive walking/biking/jogging trails. If you are worried about the Orlando weather, then choose a resort that has a gym on site (many of the deluxe resorts have this, click here for more information)

Obviously Disney is big on families, and sticking to a routine while on vacation with infants/toddlers can be tough. But fear not, as Disney can provide you with crib and pack’n’play or cot rentals for your resort room (confirm when booking about these and their cost/availability). And all of the parks rent sturdy strollers that will surely help you prevent mid afternoon meltdowns (of children and parents alike!). There are also comfortable, quiet, clean nursing stations in every park.

No one wants to work while on vacation, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Luckily, many of the Deluxe resorts offer free wi-fi internet access, and all other resorts offer internet access in each room for a fee. Maybe it’s work emails, maybe it’s uploading your trip photos to facebook right away, but no matter what your internet needs are, you will be good to go at WDW.

Walt Disney World truly is the place where Dreams Come True, and they really do strive to make everyone’s experience enjoyable, no matter what your needs or desires are, they can do almost anything you want, so if you have a special request, don’t hesitate to call them up and ask if it’s possible (chances are good they will be able to accommodate you and make you feel right at home!)

Review: Disney Universe is this seasons MUST HAVE game!

Review: Disney Universe is this seasons MUST HAVE game!

I had the pleasure of trying out Disney Universe this past week on the Nintendo Wii and all I can say is I am tired? I know you are scratching your head wondering why I am tired. Is the game that bad? No the game is that good. So good I been losing sleep and staying up late playing it with my wife.

I am more of an adventure game type person while my wife is really into puzzle games. This game seems like it was made with that in mind. Finally there is a game that brings in many of the different Disney licenses under one game. Franchises such as Lion King, Wall-e, Pirates, Alice, and many more! Not to mention all the really cool outfits you can wear.

Review: Disney Universe is this seasons MUST HAVE game!

Here is a little info from the Press Release in case you missed it:

In Disney Universe, players can select from more than 40 classic and contemporary Disney character costumes, including Alice (“Alice in Wonderland”), Mike (“Monsters, Inc.”), TRON (“TRON: Legacy”) and Stitch (“Lilo & Stitch”) to explore six different worlds inspired by legendary Disney and Disney•Pixar films.

Review: Disney Universe is this seasons MUST HAVE game!

To me what stood out the most was the worlds you visit. Each one is unique and offers different game play, enemies, and puzzles to figure out. Most were on the easy side which is perfect for kids, but adults can have fun playing it too.

Review: Disney Universe is this seasons MUST HAVE game!

Disney Universe is a multiplayer game. I mean you can play it alone but my wife and I had a ton of fun playing it together. It actually became a competition who could get more gold coins or figure out the puzzles. I can see this being really fun at a party and hooking up all 4 players at the same time. Image Christmas morning after your done opening gifts playing it with the family. If you can wait that long 🙂

Overall I think Disney saved the best game of the year for last cause out of all the games I have played this year this is the BEST! With unique worlds, outfits, and gameplay this is one you will want to add to your Disney library.

Disney Confidential: New replacement for Captain EO?

Disney Confidential: New replacement for Captain EO?

Hey there guys and gals. Your friendly neighborhood Disney Gossip Columnist Anonymouse here.

Before I spill today’s Gossip I just wanted to thank Chip for allowing me use of this SMALL forum- maybe he’ll have more than 10 followers one of these days. And that is a BIG maybe 🙂

Just heard some juicy gossip about plans to change Captain EO into a all new experience- we could soon have 3D Wall-E flying in our faces at the parks as early as next year.  Something new and futuristic again in that venue!  At least it will work until we find ourselves in the days of Wall-E and he is cleaning the earth while we are chillin’ in outer space drinking dinner out of straws and sitting in floating chairs. Red is the new Blue 🙂

From what I head Disney might even try something 4D to compete with Universal’s Shrek Experience.  I love my seat bouncing and jerking as I watch a show.

If you remember Captain EO was brought back January 2010 after a 13 year run of “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” after the passing of the late Michael Jackson.  We’ll have to wait until after the trial fiasco to see if they make anything official, at least if they are smart they will wait.

Anywho that is all the Disney Gossip I have right now.

Disney Gives A First Look at Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’

Walt Disney Pictures have given Entertainment Weekly our first look at the new stop motion film from Tim Burton, ‘Frankenweenie’.  The film is based off Tim Burton’s live action short film from the 80’s, that while being wildly popular, also caused Burton to lose his job at Disney. At the time, the studio had deemed it too dark and scary for kids and families, but have recently come around and asked Burton to return and do the film. The movie is about a young boy whose dog is hit by a car, so in a move pulled out of Mary Shelly’s ‘Frankenstein’, he reanimates his dog and brings it back to life. Burton decided the best way to tell the story now, was through his signature stop motion that has made him a household name with ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’, which he produced. Hit the jump to see the pictures from the new Entertainment Weekly.

‘Good Luck Charlie’ Stars Enjoy Halloween Time at Disneyland Park

Leigh-Allyn Baker and Bradley Steven Perry from the Disney Channel Hit Series ‘Good Luck Charlie’ with Mickey Mouse and Goofy at Disneyland Resort

Leigh-Allyn Baker and Bradley Steven Perry from the Disney Channel hit series “Good Luck Charlie” scared up some fun with Mickey Mouse and Goofy at Disneyland park last week.

Bradley’s real-life mom, Kim, was also on hand and this was the first time any of them had experienced Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. In addition to seasonal favorites like Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday, both of them were most excited about checking out Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Bradley and Leigh-Allyn also told me they have their own family traditions for Halloween. Bradley and his family head to his aunt’s house for a homemade chili dinner, and Leigh-Allyn said she creates her own unique candy combination: candy corn and M&M’s!

TV’s Duncan family already has big plans for another holiday season. Disney Channel has just announced that “Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas!,” a Disney Channel Original Movie, premieres Friday, December 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Kermit Jumps All Over this Q & A for The Muppets

Kermit Jumps All Over this Q & A for The Muppets
The Muppets, 2011

How excited were you when you heard they were making a new “Muppets” movie?!  Yeah, me too!  I will probably never outgrow those furry little hand puppets.  Well, Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 2007) has single-handedly dug up the Muppets from obscurity to thrust them back into the spotlight, and God bless him for doing so.  2011’s The Muppets is the first theatrical release for the Muppets since 1999’s Muppets from Space, and the first full-length feature of any kind since the TV-movie, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz (2005).  All of the best characters are sure to make their triumphant returns this fall in The Muppets, and the most notable of them all is probably Kermit the Frog.  Kermit and Segel will also be joined by some of the most popular actors in Hollywood today including Amy Adams (Enchanted, 2007), Selena Gomez (Monte Carlo, 2011), John Krasinski (“The Office,” NBC), Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover, 2009) and Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother,” CBS) just to name a few.  Recently some of the folks over at Disney sat down with the legendary Kermit the Frog for a pretty entertaining Q & A session about his many years in show business (56 years and counting), and the upcoming release of the Muppets’ return to stardom on November 23, 2011 with Disney’s The Muppets.  Here is the Q & A from the Disney press release:
