‘The Rescuers: 35th Anniversary Edition’ Two Movie Collection Come to Blu-ray August 21

'The Rescuers: 35th Anniversary Edition' Two Movie Collection Come to Blu-ray August 21

I consider ‘The Rescuers’ and ‘The Rescuers Down Under’ two of the most under appreciated animated Disney films. I feel like they don’t have the following that many of their other films have, even though they’re two of the most perfect adventure films to come out Walt Disney Animation.

So you could definitely understand my excitement when I found out that both these films were headed to blu-ray, for the first films 35th Anniversary, on August 21, 2012! These are two of my favorite Disney animated films, and two I figured that would be left towards the end of Disney’s vault releases, as they’ve slowly begun releasing all their animated films on blu-ray. But to get both movies, together, and so close to the beginning of this whole high def release schedule, I’m incredible happy.

How to get baby and all of their “stuff” to and from Disney World

How to get baby and all of their "stuff" to and from Disney World
John’s favorite ride at Disney was the Magical Express Bus or as he says “beeees”

Have you ever wondered “How and I going to transport my baby and all of their things while at Disney?”  Well look no further I am here to let you in on an amazing service that Disney offers if you are staying at a Disney resort and arriving/departing from the Orlando airport (MCO)!

We all know (or can imagine) how difficult it is to travel with small children.  Babies and toddlers need bottles, sippy cups, bibs, burp cloths, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, etc.  Toddlers and other young kids love to get messy, and sometimes (o.k. most times) they don’t even have to try to hard, it’s like a skill they were born with.  There are usually 2-3 changes of clothes that we must pack per day, pull ups, favorite blankies, pacifiers, beloved Mickey stuffed animals (you know the one that you have sewn the arm back on at least 5 times in the past year?!)

The thought of not only packing all of these things into a suitcase (that you surely will be charged for if it is over the weight limit) can be quiet overwhelming.  If packing is overwhelming; then start thinking about getting the suitcases, stroller, car seat from plane ride, and child/children to Disney.  Sure you can rent a car, or pay an astronomical fee for a cab ride or a limo (and you may also have to deal with quirky drivers), or you can use Disney’s Magical Express.

The Magical Express is a free service given to guest’s that are staying on Disney property.  When you book just include your flight info (this info can also be added after booking if you do not yet have flights). and you will be set up in the system.  Up to 45 days before your trip you can expect a packet in the mail containing easy to follow instructions and tags that will need to be attached to each piece of your luggage before you check your baggage.  Once you check your baggage you will not have to worry about it again!  Just take your magical express booklet on the plane and relax.

Iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz reveals latest in Disney Dream Portraits

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz released her latest Disney theme park ad campaign photos for her Disney Dream Portrait Series this week that includes British comedian Russell Brand as Peter Pan’s nemesis Captain Hook.

During an interview for Us Weekly, Brand said he can relate to the personality of Captain Hook.

“There are similarities between me and Captain Hook in that I am an Eton-educated, piratical buccaneer living on the high seas stealing and robbing and loathing the perpetual innocence and childhood of Pan,” Brand said. “Peter Pan! Oh, how I hate him!”

Electronic Arts reboots Star Wars as free game

Electronic Arts reboots Star Wars as free game

Online games, it seems, just want to be free.

Electronic Arts on Tuesday announced that it will offer up substantial portions of its “Star Wars: The Old Republic” multi-player online game to players for free starting this fall. A premium version with unlimited access to all levels, plus any new content, will still be available for $14.99 a month.

The move by the Redwood City, Calif., game publisher is an acknowledgment that the current economic climate makes it virtually impossible for a subscription business model to thrive on the Web, where thousands of free games now compete aggressively for attention.

“Players want flexibility and choice,” Matthew Bromberg, general manager of BioWare Austin, one of several studios that developed the game, said in a statement. “The subscription-only model presented a major barrier for a lot of people who wanted to become part of the ‘Old Republic’ universe.”

What shoes should I wear at Disney?

What shoes should I wear at Disney?

I am sure most of us have seen the woman who has on heels and is dressed like she is going to her prom, now while she may look good I know she is not very comfortable. If you are not comfortable then you will not be able to enjoy your day at the parks. Remeber you will be walking miles and miles, so comfort over rules cute in this situation.

I say always go with sneakers or if there is a chance of rain possibly crocs. I know crocs are not cute but I am trying to have fun not win a beauty pageant.  There are now many different styles of crocs, some of which you can buy at the parks. I have a pair of Mickey crocs that I got at Mousegear in Epcot and I love them. I have worn sandals, crocs, sneakers and flip flops. Let me tell you most of those were very bad ideas.

Things You’ll Need While Pregnant at WDW

Things You'll Need While Pregnant at WDW

Last week, I had the privilege of traveling to Walt Disney World with 28 youth while I was 32 weeks pregnant!!  Luckily, I wasn’t traveling with my own boys, ages 11 and 3, and I was there in February so I didn’t feel too guilty for not riding all the rides and seeing all the shows!

This trip was a whole new experience for me since I was so pregnant!  I thought I was prepared, but honestly I wasn’t!  I should have “trained” more by walking around my neighborhood and should have thought harder about things I would need while in the parks.  So, after my personal mistakes from last week, I’ve created a list of 10 things you’ll need to have if you are traveling to Walt Disney World pregnant… especially if it’s in the summer months!
