Tina Fey to Star in ‘The Muppets’ Sequel; Working Title Revealed

Tina Fey

The cast for the new ‘Muppets’ film just keeps getting better and better. Back in December we learned that both Ricky Gervais and Ty Burell were both set to star as two of the three leads in the film, with Gervais being the main character, and Burell playing a “lazy Interpol agent”, but with nothing else known about either character at this time. Now we’ve learned who the final of the three characters in the film will be, and it’ll be no other than Tina Fey, of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ’30 Rock’ fame. Fey is said to be playing a Russian prison guard in the film, so it’s easy to assume that she and Ty Burell will probably working together in the film. The film is said to follow the Muppets, and Gervais, on a European caper, but that’s all we know at this time. It’s also been revealed that the current working title for the film is ‘The Muppets…Again’, but there’s a good chance that won’t be the final title of the film.

Disney Guest’s Vehicle Burglarized in Disney Parking Lot

The Bonds family visited Walt Disney World last week and had a not so magical (or typical) experience. On Saturday night after returning to their car after visiting the Magic Kingdom they found their vehicle had been burglarized on the theme park’s property.

The Bonds family lost a computer, GPS, some Christmas gifts and even a loaded gun with the value of the items stolen well into the thousands of dollars, said the family.

“I have stories of coming back to my car, in a Disney parking lot, with nothing left,” said Jennifer Bond.

The gun taken from the family’s car was Randy Bond’s grandfathers.

“What if that gets given to somebody, or sold to someone, and somebody gets killed with that gun, I mean how am I going to feel,” said Bond.

Unfortunately, Disney security told the family that there are no security cameras in some of the park’s parking lots, including the Magic Kingdom lot where there car was parked.

Interesting tip, according to the Orange County Sheriff Office and Disney security officers who talked with the family, car thieves are cruising the parking lots at local attractions with a handful of keyless entry devices until a car’s lights or alarms go off.  That allows for an easy in and out for the thieves.

Working Out at Walt Disney World

muscles-and-bustles-health-club-00

It’s January; The time of resolutions. One of the most popular choices for change in the New Year is to lose weight or get in shape. Going on vacation can often put a snag in those plans as we consume excess calories Mickey Bars and perhaps sip a few more Grand Marnier slushes than we should. I know what you are thinking, Disney is A LOT of walking and therefore one should not have to exercise on top of the rigors of park touring.  There are some people who want to keep up their routine even on vacation and many health professionals agree that this is the way to achieve long-term success.  Here is how to keep on track during your stay at Walt Disney World.

1. Hit the Gym. Each deluxe property and Coronado Springs in the moderate category has a gym equipped with various cardio equipment and free weights along with a variety of weight machines. If you are a guest of these resorts you may use these facilities for free. Not staying deluxe or at Coronado? You can buy a pass the Coronado Springs Gym, La Vida Health Club, for $12 per day based on availability.

2. Go for a swim. Every Walt Disney Resort has a pool (or two, or three). Swimming is a wonderful work out. Tour the parks in the morning and then head back for a cool off dip. Spend thirty minutes practicing different strokes and treading water. You will burn calories, but you will also be taking the weight off your feet and letting yourself relax!

Can’t decide on where to stay on your Disney World Vacation? Take a Resort Tour!

One big decision when planning your Disney World Vacation is where to stay?

Some people have a favorite that they never waver from, while some make it a mission to stay every place at least once! Others choose in the categories Disney has set, value, moderate or deluxe for one reason or another.

So how do you choose and why? Budget, Location, Room Size, the Look, Newest… The list could go on and on, and for some it does and for others it’s a no brainer!

Years ago when we went on our honeymoon, with the help of our travel agent we choose Port Orleans French Quarter, it was small, quaint, charming and in our budget! Perfect for us then… and now as well! It is still our favorite but the fact that my mom travels with us a lot now and uses a wheelchair has made us love the smaller size of POFQ even more!

When my son was younger we made our rounds in the value resorts, he loved the big over-sized icons in the All Starsand checking out all the fun things at PoP! We also hit the ground running then and didn’t stop; my son was a Disney commando and went from sun up to sun down and then some. Not being at the resort much made staying at a value for us the way to go, why pay to sleep 😉

Once he got a little older and while he still loved Disney, his wants and needs changed and where he stayed wasn’t high on his list, as long as he could grab food and had a pool he was OK where ever it was… (It’s tough being a teenager 😉 anyway with that in mind, my husband and I had wanted to go back to POFQ and with my mom coming along, POFQ just made sense for all of us. So at the moment it’s the place for us!

Alleviate stress on your Walt Disney World Vacation

stress

When Walt Disney World travelers envision their trips they think of perfect weather, smiling children, wonderful food, characters surrounding them. While all of these things can be true when traveling to Disney World, a trip to Disney can be tiring, stressful and a little bit of work. There are plenty of ways that to alleviate stress on your Walt Disney World Vacation.

Understand the size

Walt Disney World covers 46 square miles of property, has 4 main theme parks 2 water parks and Downtown Disney. In addition, there are 19 resort  hotels on Disney property. Basically, Disney World is HUGE! It is important to understand the size before you travel so that you can accurately plan out your days and times.

Plan Ahead

It is very important to know the time of year you plan to travel. Crowds, weather and prices vary for different times of year and can greatly impact many of the factors of your trip. In order to help you plan you may want to pick up a few Walt Disney World vacation guide books such as Birnbaum’s Walt Disney World 2011. These books are designed to give you a lot of information about Walt Disney World. Another option would be to visit touringplans.com, this site is devoted to helping you design a step by step plan to the most magical vacation ever!

Monsters, Inc. is one of Disney-Pixar’s most popular films-and for good reason!  Disney’s imagineering comes to its finest with beloved characters, fascinating animation, and a heart warming story line.  Not only will you enjoy the feature film and fun bonus features-but also a sneak peek at Disney-Pixar’s upcoming release of “Monsters University”.

The now-classic Academy Award®-winning animated comedy adventure “Monsters, Inc.” is set in Monstropolis, a thriving company town where monsters of all shapes and sizes reside. Lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory. Top Five Reasons Why WDW Is The Perfect Adult Vacation Spot

Boat Rental

There are many people out there who think of Walt Disney World as a place for kids and families, and it is true that they do cater largely to that crowd. BUT, that isn’t all they do – they work hard to make WDW a place where those of all ages can go to have fun. Personally, I love WDW even more as an adult than I did as a kid, and in case you are on the fence, here are my top 5 reasons why you should give WDW a try for your next adult vacation:

1. It’s Truly a “World” of it’s own – It’s a place where you can forget your stress and cares, and enjoy the rides, sites and characters that are around every corner at WDW. It will make you feel like a kid, and it’s truly one of the best places to have fun and enjoy yourselves!

2. The FOOD – At a lot of other theme parks, the food options range from deep fried chicken fingers and fries to ice cream and hamburgers, without a lot of variety or healthy options readily available. Disney takes Park cuisine to a whole new level – they really do have it all. There are plenty of counter service restaurants around the Parks, where you will find the standard burgers/fries/chicken, but where they also have more unique items like BBQ ribs, salads, sandwiches, soups, paninis, and delicious desserts. If you’re in the mood to relax and enjoy a sit down meal, then there are tons of sit down restaurants that range from casual to fancy with dress codes, and offer fresh seafood, delicious steaks, and plenty of other options. And if you’re more into the “all you can eat” type of cuisine, Disney has some really delicious buffets, some of which are character meals, where you can enjoy a buffet and get the chance to meet and greet your favorite characters all at the same time! We like using Disney Dining for all of our Food News & Reviews!
