Universal Follows Disney and Raises Ticket Prices

After Disney raises their prices we all know what is going to happen. The “other” theme parks follow. Universal has raised their one day adult admission to $102.00. That is not including tax of course. Child’s admission is now $97.00. A 1 day park to park ticket will set you back $147.00 for an adult and $142.00 for a child.

The Florida resident annual pass is $189.00

What do you think?

Ready to lace up your sneakers and runDisney in Paris in 2016?

DLP Marathon
DLP Marathon

DLP

I don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with everything runDisney.  I competed in the Inaugural Star Wars Race Weekend at my home park, Disneyland Resort, last month and now I am determined to NEVER miss another runDisney race held at Disneyland.  I am registered for the Tinkerbell 10K on Mothers Day Weekend in May and for the 10K in September at the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.  My year will round out with the Avengers Race Weekend at Disneyland in November.

My goal for 2016 WAS getting my Coast To Coast (running a half marathon at both Disneyland Resort AND Walt Disney World within a 12 month period), but now I kind of want to get my Continent to Continent medal with the reveal of a NEW runDisney Race Weekend being held at Disneyland Paris September 23-25, 2016!

There is a sign up on the runDisney site to be notified about registration for the DLP Race Weekend, so if you are so inclined, I would fill it out for more information as it becomes available.

I will be back with more information as it is released – are you ready to runDisney in Paris with me?

Frozen Fever will hit the theatres on March 13, 2015 along with the premiere of Cinderella.   Shown as a short before the movie, Frozen Fever gives us a chance to enjoy our friends, Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Christoff as they celebrate Anna’s birthday. Elsa is excited to help with the preparations but as we all know by now anything she is involved with has a tendency to make us shiver.   In Frozen Fever, Elsa’s cold causes chaos and may put not only the party but everyone and everything at risk!  Don’t miss Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad in Frozen Fever!

Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Aimee Scribner, and with new songs to enjoy, Frozen Fever already has the power to be an icy hit.

Loretta Garcia, Entertainment Writer for Chip and Co, invites you to check out the video clip below.  Let me know what you think!

How Can I Afford a Disney Trip with These Price Increases?

Lilostitch2002
Lilostitch2002

Lilo price increase

Don’t let the Disney Park ticket increases get you down! There can still be a Disney Vacation in your future! I know, it stinks that they raised the ticket price a few bucks, but it won’t stop me from going! Here are a few tips to make your Disney vacation more affordable:

1. Research- Check out the ticket price chart below. The first day in Magic Kingdom is $105, and each day after that, the price decreases  each consecutive day and by the 10th day you are only paying $2.95 per ticket! You will find that the longer ticket you buy, the less you pay per day! Sometimes buying a Park Hopper ticket and shortening your trip can save money too. Ask me about the least expensive time of year to go. These are called “value seasons” and rooms rates are much lower during these times. Weekdays are also lower in price than weekends.

2. Book with Us-  My friends and I at World of Magic Travel are experts at accommodating our clients’ needs, including their budgets. Contrary to popular belief, my clients don’t pay me, Disney does. Whether you book through Disney directly, or with me, your price will be the same.

What I offer that Disney doesn’t:

  • Free Dining reservation help and Fastpass+ tips and tricks to maximize your time and money
  • Free Discount Monitoring- I will watch out for Disney deals and promos and apply them to your reservation, even AFTER you book
  • Free Flight quotes- I can show you the least expensive flights from any airport
  • Free TravelAdvice- I will let you know the cheapest times to go, what resort to stay in, and what promos you qualify for:
    • Spring Room Discount going on NOW for travel until June 15th
    • Buy 4 tickets, get the 5th free on select packages
    • Kid-Sized Offer for families of 3
    • Disney Visa Holder discounts
    • Military, Annual Passholder, and Florida Resident Discounts
  • Free custom Disney t-shirts for children on your reservation
  • Free Support- Even after they book, I always help my clients with dining, payment plans, MyDisneyExperience Account set-up, flights, linking reservations, and Magical Express.

3. Be Flexible-  Being flexible with dates and resorts will give you more price options. Booking months in advance ensures cheaper airfare and sometimes room rates. Ask me about room types and if you should pay EXTRA for a preferred room. If the Plus Dining Plan is out of your budget, opt for the Quick Service Plan to save a few bucks.

4. Follow Us- Make sure to like Chip and Co. and Disney Addicts on Facebook to stay informed on all the Disney promos and planning tips. If you book now and a discount comes out later, you can still use it! Our newest group, YMBADA Race Team is offering a GREAT room discount for the first week in November. Come to Disney with us for the Wine & Dine Marathon, International Food and Wine Festival, and to see the Disney Christmas decorations!

Although a $3 price increase doesn’t seem like much, it can add up quickly if you have a large family. I’ll help you get to Disney without going broke! Watch my page for deals and specials too. I will find the trip that fits your family the best, just email me at [email protected] and we can start planning your budget-friendly Disney Vacation.

And the Award goes to…. Disney Cruise Line!

And the Award goes to…. Disney Cruise Line! The results are in.. and you have spoken! Disney has done it again.

For the 3rd year in a row, Disney Cruise Line was named “Best Overall” by Cruise Critic, the online cruise community. They have announced the winners of its 2015 Cruisers’ Choice Awards and Disney came out on top. Cruise Critic’s awards are based on YOU. They are entirely based on consumer reviews posted to the Cruise Critic website.

Disney was the big winner this year with Disney Dream winning in the large-ship category and Disney Wonder in the mid-size category. In total, Disney’s fleet won 12 awards, including “Best Entertainment” and “Best Cruises to the Bahamas” for Disney Dream, and “Best Cabins,” “Best Service” and “Best for Families” for Disney Fantasy.

The Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards are awarded in three ship classes, based on passenger capacity. (Although Disney publishes capacity for the Disney Wonder and Magic at 2,700 passengers, that number includes children in third and fourth berths. Cruise Critic judges all ships on a double-occupancy basis, so the two 877-stateroom ships fit into the mid-size category.)

Large is for 2,000-plus passengers. Mid-size for 1,200 to 1,999 passengers. Small for 1,199 or fewer passengers.

The First Place Winners included:

Avatar is Coming to Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Avatar land
Avatar land

Avatar land

Disney broke ground last year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for what will soon be Pandora.  I know Disney can do amazing things but I can’t even imagine how they are going to bring this mythical land to life. I am sure it will be beyond amazing!

It has been said that this project is one of the most time consuming and collaborative ones they have done. It started when the then-Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts proposed the idea to James Cameron that just maybe they could recreate the world of Pandora at Disney.

Jim said, “I think one of the things that people loved about the movie is that they felt as if they had visited Pandora… now, thanks to Disney’s amazing Imagineers, people are going to truly experience Pandora firsthand. From the details in the plants to the production and design, extraordinary thought and care has gone into this entire world. The teams have really created something special, and it’s not going to be like anything else.”

The process is being led by the amazing Joe Rohde. He is working with an amazing team of designers and artists. Of course CEO Bob Iger is involved every step of the way.

Now that all the planning and ideas have gone into action, they recently got to tour the progress at Animal Kingdom:

Looks incredible right?

This project is really pushing the limits of what is possible, even for Disney! Even though I am not a fan of Avatar, I can’t wait to see this! I am sure it will be amazing!

Future-Worm Comes To Disney XD!

jk
jk

TITLE CARD

“Future-Worm!,” created by the Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Quincy (“South Park,” IFC’s “Out There”), is coming to Disney XD in short-form and a newly announced full-length series beginning in Fall 2015. Quincy, who joined the Disney Television Animation team in 2013, is the executive producer. The announcement was made today by Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation.

Coleman said, “When we first heard Ryan’s pitch, we knew we had something unique. It’s your classic ‘Boy and His Worm’ story, but this worm is from the future…and has a beard. We loved Ryan’s original animated shorts so much we greenlit a full series.”

“Future-Worm!” follows Danny, an optimistic 12-year-old who creates a time machine lunch box and befriends Future Worm, a fearless worm from the future. Together, the duo navigates through space, time and study hall, embarking on adventures and spontaneously making up new ones along the way.

Providing the voice of Danny is Andy Milonakis (“Kroll Show”). Future Worm is voiced by James Adomian (“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”).

Duck Tales Making It’s Return on Disney XD!

An all-new “DuckTales,” an animated comedy series based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, has been ordered for launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world. Set to be produced by Disney Television Animation, the new series will again star Disney’s enduringly popular characters: Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck. The announcement was made today by Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.

Buhaj said, “DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

The new series’ adventures will once again take viewers along as Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews — Huey, Dewey and Louie — and the optimistic yet temperamental Donald Duck embark on high-flying adventures worldwide. Other beloved characters slated to be in the new stories are: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack.

A generation’s seminal cartoon, the Emmy Award-winning “DuckTales” led the daily syndicated cartoon block “The Disney Afternoon” with 100 episodes produced by Disney Television Animation from 1987-90. An animated theatrical film, “DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp,” premiered in 1990.

The original “DuckTales” is currently available on WATCH Disney Channel, an app that allows consumers to watch on tablet, phones, computer and set top boxes.

Disney Interactive features several “DuckTales” themed items in the Disney Infinity toy box. A music video of the familiar “DuckTales” theme song (with real ducks) has amassed over six million views since September 2014 on the popular YouTube channel “Oh My Disney.”

Stay tuned for more Disney XD!
