Disney Channel to Develop Biopic Based On Little League Superstar!

Development is underway on a Disney Channel Original Movie “Throw Like Mo” – a biographical movie that will tell the inspiring story of Mo’ne Davis, the 13-year-old sports prodigy who made history in August 2014 as the first female to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series. Davis, a member of Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons and the first Little League player to make the cover of Sports Illustrated, will consult on the movie.

“Throw Like Mo” will be executive-produced by the Emmy Award-nominated producer Debra Martin Chase (“The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” Disney Channel’s “The Cheetah Girls” movies and “Lemonade Mouth”). The writers are Sheldon Candis (writer and director of “LUV,” “A Slave in the White House” and director of Under Armour’s Misty Copeland campaign “I Will What I Want”) and Justin Wilson (“LUV,” “A Slave in the White House”). espnW, which has extensively covered the achievements of Mo’ne Davis, will also consult on the movie.

Naketha Mattocks, Vice President, Original Movies, Disney Channels, said, “Mo’ne is not only a top-notch athlete in three different sports – baseball, basketball and soccer – but she is an exemplary student and someone who will remind our audiences that they can do anything with hard work, dedication and belief in themselves.” Mattocks added, “We know her story will inspire audiences regardless of their age, culture or gender, and I am thrilled to have Debra, Sheldon and Justin leading the charge to bring this movie to life.”

Mo’ne Davis said, “There are so many great things happening to me right now, and it’s a very exciting time in my life. A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me. I can’t wait to get started, and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true.”

Spielberg and Hanks working on “Bridge of Spies” Thriller

DreamWorks Pictures and Fox 2000 Pictures’ new spy thriller has a title “Bridge of Spies“. Directed by three-time Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg, the film will be scored by Thomas Newman who replaces John Williams who became unavailable due to a minor health issue.

“Bridge of Spies” stars Tom Hanks as James Donovan, a Brooklyn attorney who finds himself in the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on what seems like an impossible mission to negotiate the release of an American U-2 pilot. Based on true events and in theatres, October 16, 2015, the film gives us a look into the personal journey of a man who risked everything. Also starring Mark Rylance as KGM agent, Rudolf Abel, Scott Shepherd as CIA operative Hoffman; Amy Ryan as James’ wife, Mary; Sebastian Koch as East German lawyer Vogel; and Alan Alda as Thomas Watters, a partner at Donovan’s law firm.

Directing along with Spielberg, are Marc Platt and Kristie Macosko Krieger, with Adam Somner, Daniel Lupi, Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King as executive producers, and screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen, “Bridge of Spies” has all the ingredients for a huge hit.

Magicbands Might be Used as a Parking Permit for Disney Resort Guests

Hola! How is everyone? I know you have missed me. I would miss me too! I am always busy working on more gossip for all of my fans. Mainly because Chippy keeps pushing me for more and more info, you know how he is. Anyway I have it on pretty good authority that soon Disney Resort guests might soon be able to use their MagicBands as their parking permit.

I have been saying they need to do this for quite some time now, but I know all good things come to those who wait. I was always annoyed by having to put that paper thing in my window. I am not big on advertising who I am but you know that already.

One or two resorts have already started testing it. When you go to park at a theme park you just scan your band to enter. When you get back to your resort you can use the faster lane, you know the one without the guard, and scan your band and bam you are in. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

It will work the same if you have an R.F.I.D card instead of a band.

We don’t know when this will happen or when the testing will be done. You know as soon as we know you will know, so stay tuned!

LEGOLAND Florida Announces New Heartlake City Attraction

Legoland Florida officials broke ground Monday on the new Heartlake City expansion. The new land based on the popular LEGO^® Friends line of toys is set to open this summer. This colorful and vibrant new land will offer adventures for all ages.

The fictional Heartlake City, named for its heart-shaped lake, is the home of Andrea, Emma, Mia, Stephanie and Olivia and her parents. Their friendship is the focus of the toy line. At Legoland, Heartlake City will be located next to Magnolia Mansion in Fun Town, park officials announced last week.

The highlights of the new land will include a fantastic horse-themed disc coaster called Mia’s Riding Adventure and an interactive show, ‘Friends to the Rescue’ as well as new shops inside Heartlake Mall. Between the constant expansion, the new Legoland Hotel opening in May and the Water Park re-opening this month, Legoland Florida Resort is definitely becoming a multi-day destination.

Disney Finds – The Wonderful World of Disney Trivia

Like many Disney Addicts I would consider myself a Disney Trivia Junkie. I honestly thought I knew my stuff till I met the beautiful Disney Fashionista and she put me to shame. I have been honing my skills on The Wonderful World of Disney Trivia 2: The Sequel Game.

Blue Angels Soar Over Disney World

Streaking across the dedicated no-fly zone that is The Magic Kingdom Thursday, was a squadron of F/A-18 Hornets better known to most as The Blue Angles. The brief flyover made for some real excitement for guests as the squadron made two passes over the park.

The event was part of an internal team photo shoot for the Blue Angels. Using Cinderella Castle as the backdrop to their flight demonstration the squadron flying in a Delta Formation made its way south to north down Main Street before turning around and flying north to south toward the park’s entrance.

Folks in the park really enjoyed the added magic created as the jets streamed across the sky. The flyover took place just after 9:30am as guests stood in awe with smart phones and cameras in hand to capture the moment.
