Disneynature is making a difference. Join Tina Fey as she narrates the upcoming new Disney movie, “Monkey Kingdom”. Enjoy the movie during opening week and for every ticket sold (April 17-23, 2015), Disneynature will make a donation to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats.
Produced and directed by Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill, “Monkey Kingdom” is the story of a group of monkeys, specifically one clever and resourceful blond-bobbed monkey, Maya as she welcomes her son, Kip into her complicated family. Filmed among the ancient ruins of South Asia, Maya and family must leave their long time home at Castle Rock when it is taken over by a group of neighboring monkeys. In new surroundings and among strange new creatures, Maya much use her street smarts and ingenuity to make sure everyone works together to reclaim Castle Rock. From monitor lizards, to predatory leopards, a mischievous mongoose and the simple-minded langur monkeys, “Monkey Kingdom is fully of rich characters and is the eighth True Life Adventure in the Disneynature series. The first five big-screen releases under the Disneynature label—“Earth,” “Oceans,” “African Cats,” “Bears” and “Chimpanzee”—are among the top six highest grossing feature-length nature films of all time.
