The magic is setting in concrete at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Construction crews have officially poured the first major slab for the Encanto-themed attraction inside the upcoming Tropical Americas area, marking a major milestone as the new land continues to rise where DinoLand U.S.A. once stood.

New aerial photos by @bioreconstruct reveal smooth, freshly poured concrete for what appears to be part of the show building’s maintenance area, as workers operate power trowels to finish the surface. Additional forms, walls, and vertical columns are already in place, showing the project’s rapid progress just weeks after construction went vertical.

The size of the structure is striking — one of the aerials shows a tractor-trailer parked nearby for scale, and the footprint dwarfs it completely. It’s clear this will be a massive indoor attraction, likely housing the “Casa Madrigal” experience inspired by Disney’s 2021 hit film Encanto shown in the promotional art for the land.

Disney filed detailed South Florida Water Management District plans earlier this year that outlined the full Tropical Americas layout. Those documents revealed the Encanto attraction as the southern anchor of the new land, paired with an Indiana Jones adventure in the reimagined DINOSAUR show building. The area will also feature lush pathways, new dining, and expanded theming inspired by Central and South American landscapes.

Foundations Set for New Coaster at Universal Studios Florida Just Months After Rip Ride Rockit Closure

Universal Orlando is wasting no time turning up the volume on its next big thrill. Just months after Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit took its final drop on August 18, new aerial photos from X user bioreconstruct show major construction progress at the attraction’s former site inside Universal Studios Florida.

The photos reveal that the entire Rip Ride Rockit track and support structure have been removed, leaving behind a completely cleared footprint stretching from the park’s entrance plaza near the Universal globe to the edge of Production Central. Crews have already begun pouring foundation footings, indicating that the groundwork for a new roller coaster is well underway.

In the aerial views, construction vehicles and cranes can be seen surrounding the Hard Rock Café, where large excavation areas and new concrete forms outline the coaster’s potential layout. The former queue and backstage maintenance buildings appear to have been demolished as well, allowing for a fresh start on the project’s design and infrastructure.

While Universal has yet to officially announce what’s replacing Rip Ride Rockit, recently filed permits confirm that the project is classified as a new roller coaster, filed under the park’s Production Central redevelopment initiative. This supports widespread speculation that the replacement will be a modern, high-thrill coaster experience, possibly incorporating advanced ride systems or storytelling elements more in line with Universal’s newer attractions.

Epic Universe may have only just opened its gates in May 2025, but Universal Orlando isn’t wasting any time looking toward the future. A new permit filed on November 7 hints that the resort’s ambitious new theme park could already be gearing up for its first major expansion.

New Permit Reveals Universal Epic Universe Expansion

The permit, filed under Baker Barrios Architects Inc., lists the project site as 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819 — the official address of Epic Universe. The work description calls for “site utilities and foundation work” tied to new construction within the Universal South Campus – Plat 2 area, with an expiration date of May 7, 2026.

While no specific building plans or location details have been made public, the permit covers roughly 150,000 square feet of space, large enough to support a major attraction or show building. To put that in perspective, it’s comparable in size to the combined footprint of Le Cirque Arcanus and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

Florida Men Clocked at Over 100 MPH on Walt Disney World Property Arrested Under New ‘Super Speeder’ Law

Two Florida men have found themselves on the wrong side of the law — and the speedometer — after being arrested for driving more than twice the speed limit on Walt Disney World property. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, both incidents happened on Epcot Center Drive, a major roadway that carries thousands of Cast Members and guests daily between Disney Springs and EPCOT.

On October 1, deputies clocked 32-year-old Layton North Browning Jaynes hitting 117 mph in his blue Porsche 911 near Buena Vista Drive, where the posted speed limit is just 50 mph. Less than a week later, on October 7, 31-year-old Ryan Schulz was stopped for reaching a staggering 144 mph on his Yamaha MT-10 motorcycle in the same stretch of road. Both men were pulled over by the same deputy.

Schulz reportedly told officers he was “running late to work,” though it’s safe to say that excuse didn’t get him very far.

Both drivers were charged under Florida’s newly enacted “Super Speeder Law,” which went into effect July 1. The law makes driving more than 100 mph a criminal offense rather than a standard speeding ticket. First-time offenders face up to 30 days in jail and fines up to $500.

The law, designed to crack down on dangerous driving behavior, has already resulted in nearly 100 arrests statewide, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Jaynes and Schulz both pleaded not guilty and were also cited for additional violations including outdated driver’s license information and an expired vehicle tag.

Our Review of Jollywood Nights 2025

The tinsel is twinkling and the festive fun has officially begun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! With Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party already underway in Magic Kingdom, the focus has now shifted to Tinseltown for the inaugural night of Disney Jollywood Nights on November 7th. We were on the scene for the first event of the season, and let us tell you—it was a spectacular, character-filled affair!

The streets were immediately decked out in dazzling holiday decor, Gertie the Dinosaur sported her Santa hat with pride, and twinkling lights provided a magical, glamorous ambiance.

We explored everything this special ticketed event has to offer: thrilling entertainment, specialty food and drink, shorter waits for select attractions, and an undeniable abundance of exclusive character meet-and-greets!

This year, the stars of the show truly felt like the characters, making this event a genuine “Character Palooza”!

Disney Cruise Line is sailing a new mission: inspiring the next generation of artists. The company recently announced “Discover Your Destiny,” a unique community program that uses creativity and mentorship to encourage students in its port cities to explore careers in the arts, coinciding with the launch of the Disney Destiny on November 20.

The program brings Disney’s storytelling magic beyond the stage and into classrooms, offering mentorship, hands-on experiences, and professional development for educators. The Disney Destiny is the newest ship to join Disney Cruise Line’s growing fleet, marking a significant milestone in the cruise line’s multi-year expansion plans to bring the magic of Disney cruises to new audiences around the world. This expansion will grow the fleet to 13 ships by 2031, and also includes the Disney Adventure, which will homeport in Singapore beginning in March 2026; a fourth ship in the Wish class expected in 2027; the introduction of a brand-new class of ships in 2029; and an agreement with Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) to introduce Disney cruise vacations to Japan in 2029. 

The sister ship to the Disney Wish (2022) and the Disney Treasure (2024), the Disney Destiny draws on the legacies of larger-than-life heroes and villains from Disney, Pixar and Marvel to offer new and guest-favorite experiences steeped in legendary Disney lore. Highlights include an original Broadway-style adaptation of “Hercules;” entertaining dining experiences inspired by “The Lion King” and Marvel Super Heroes; immersive meet-and-play experiences with beloved characters; a Mickey Mouse-themed water attraction; one-of-a-kind lounges inspired by Cruella de Vil and Doctor Strange; imaginative kids’ clubs; and signature fireworks at sea.

Disney Destiny sets sail from Port Everglades on November 20, offering four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean with stops at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point during its inaugural season.

The Ultimate Holiday Stay: Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel Unveils Christmas-Themed Suite

Get ready to check into Christmas! The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel, a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel, has just debuted a spectacular, limited-time Christmas-themed suite. You can book this festive experience for stays now through January 11, 2026.

The Enchanted Christmas Experience Suite is decorated with holiday décor, lights, garlands, red-and-gold accents and includes a Christmas tree adorned with hand-picked ornaments and ribbons. The suite can only be booked through the hotel website and includes free parking for one vehicle, and breakfast buffet or dinner buffet for two in the Garden Court Bistro (excluding Christmas Buffet on Dec. 25, 2025), and a holiday activity kit for children 11 years old and under, up to two included. Additional holiday kits are $15 each.

The “Enchanted Christmas Experience” suite joins the hotel’s gothic-themed “Sargon’s Darkwood Chamber,” which opened for booking in August.

The hotel also has two other “Enchanted Suites” — Knight and Unicorn, as well as themed castle bunk bedrooms. The hotel also provides free shuttles to the parks aboard the resort’s Dream Machine shuttle.
