“Born In China” Activity Packs Are Now Online In Time For Earth Day

Born In China

Born In China

Earth Day is around the corner (April 22nd) and to celebrate this special day (where we as citizens unite to celebrate the earth and discuss important issues like conservation and environmental protection), Disneynature will be releasing the much-anticipated “Born in China” motion picture on April 21st.

“Born in China” follows the adventures of three animal families: a panda mother raising her baby, a family of golden monkeys welcoming a new child and a mother snow leopard and her two cubs struggling to live in an increasingly harsh environment. Featuring stunning imagery, the film navigates the vast terrain and remote wilderness of China allowing guests to witness the intimate moments shared by these families.

In anticipation of the cinematic release, Disney has made available “Born in China” activity packs which are perfect for introducing your little ones to many of the themes and ideas covered in the film.

Here’s a sneak peek:

Born in China Activity

The full “Born in China” activity pack can be found at nature.disney.com as well as an educators pack for teachers.

Guests at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Disney’s Hilton Head Resort were treated to exclusive screenings of “Born In China” this week.  The event brought families together to watch the film and to engage in fun actives including many of those found in the activity pack mentioned above.

Missed the on-site screening? Cinema-goers are still able to play their part this Earth Day.  See “Born in China” on opening weekend and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to World Wildlife Fund.  The proceeds will help protect the wild pandas and snow leopards.

Is an 'Uber-Like' Service Coming to Walt Disney World?

Rumors have been circulating that Disney could be introducing an Uber-like service for guests to travel around the Walt Disney World property. Today we are hearing, thanks to our friends over at Walt Disney World News Today, that it appears the hiring process for these new drivers is now underway.

The new service is being described in internal documents as “transporting guests door to door or point to point within resort and theme park locations.” Disney will require candidates applying to the driver positions to be familiar with the advanced technology features of electric vehicles. All applicants will also be required to have a vast knowledge of Disney World property and be knowledgeable about all aspects of a Disney World vacation so they can answer any questions guests may have. Disney will be hiring internally for these new positions from Cast Members that have been with Disney World for at least one year and have held a Florida driver’s license for at minimum of three years.

This service will be offer a more personal experience that the extremely popular Express Bus Service that was introduced last year.

We have not heard details on rates and pricing for this new transportation option. However, once we receive any additional information on it, we will make sure to pass it along to you!

What do you think about this new option to get around Disney World? Would you use it?

Thomas Kinkade Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove Heat Reveal Mug

Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove Heat Reveal Mug

I was so in love with the Beauty and the Beast Morphing Mug we found earlier this week, I just had to look for more! This Thomas Kinkade Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove Heat Reveal MugThomas Kinkade Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove Heat Reveal Mug, is  giving me a serious case of the “awwws”!

This collectible features an image of Thomas Kinkade’s painting, Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove. Like the other morphing mugs, this one starts out black, but when a warm beverage is poured in, it reveals this beautifully sweet painting. With such a cute design I can already see myself pouring warm water in it, just to watch it change!

The Mickey and Minnie Sweetheart Cove Heat Reveal Mug is absolutely darling, but are there other characters you would like to see in this Thomas Kinade morphing mug style?

“Thor: Ragnarok” trailer smashes Disney and Marvel views record

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok

Maybe it was Cate Blanchett looking crazy awesome, or Chris Hemsworth’s haircut, maybe it was Hulk in full armor, but the first trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok” topped the Disney and Marvel record books. The film from Taika Waititi scored 136 million views in the first 24 hours of release.

That mark passed the previous Disney high of 127.6 million for Beauty and the Beast and the Marvel record of 94 million views for Captain America: Civil War. The impressive debut still put it well short of the world record holder It, which recently scared up 197 million views on its first day.

Ragnarok marks Hemsworth’s third solo go-round as the Norse God and the first non-Avengers flick for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Also onboard for the film, which hits theaters on Nov. 3, are Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, and Idris Elba.

In case you missed it, we have it for you right here…

The Rock teases upcoming Disney’s The Jungle Cruise Live Action Movie

The Rock teases upcoming Disney's The Jungle Cruise Live Action Movie

Last week we reported that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be starring in the latest film adaptation of a Disney classic. The ride, the movie “The Jungle Cruise“. Now that the movie is greenlit, The Rock surprised park guests at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park by taking over the skipper duties of the Jungle Cruise attraction.

He also posted this :

I think the lady to my right is snapping a pic of my bootaaaay) Surprise! Once I committed to our Disney partners to make the movie based off the JUNGLE CRUISE ride, I wanted to dive head first into the research. So I headed to Walt Disney World and surprised tourists by commandeering the JUNGLE CRUISE boat. It was a GREAT day on the river. Learned a lot.. for example, it takes approximately 12.6 minutes for all the passengers to get over the shock of me jumping on the boat and thinking I’m a DJ look-a-like. One passenger even said, “Oh the real Rock is much smaller than this guy”. I threw his ass off the boat. Jokes aside (and yes, with me as the Cruise Skipper there will be an abundance of puns) this is such an amazing, fantastical and cool world to build out. Best part about this surprise research day was knowing how FUN of an experience we’re gonna work hard to create for families around the world. That’s the part that gets my excited the most. The movie. The ride. The experience. It’s the cruise of a lifetime. And trust me, you’ll want me as your Skipper. Just don’t forget to bring the Skipper’s beer. Next step… we find our visionary director. #SurpriseAroundEveryCorner #ResearchDay #DisneyWorld #AllAboard #JungleCruise

Now that’s awesome! I wonder if The Rock just enjoyed the ride or if he actually took over the part of the Skipper on the trip. I’d love to see Disney release a video of The Rock hosting the Jungle Cruise ride in the park as a promotion for the film. That could be a lot of fun.
In the text, The Rock confirms a couple of things about the film:

  • His skipper character will have “an abundance of puns,” which should make fans of the ride happy.
  • The movie will focus on a cruise through an “amazing, fantastical and cool world” of an uncharted jungle.
  • The film does not yet have a director, but The Rock says they are looking for a “visionary” filmmaker.

I think this may be a fun movie! What do you think?
