MagicBand Bows

I’ve been a fan of MagicBands ever since they were first launched. I also love finding new ways to decorate them, and give them more of a POP! I’ve done a few fun things to my bands, but I haven’t gotten any MagicBand Bows before, so I think I need to try them out!

These are the perfect accessory for any of your Walt Disney World MagicBands! The bow is approximately 2 inches long, and 1.5 inches tall. It is attached to an elastic band to ensure it stays exactly where you want it on your MagicBand 1.0 2.0. They designer will also customize the trinkets and colors on the bows, so you can get exactly what you’re looking for! There are so many characters to choose from too! I also saw a Starbucks one, I think I need to get that one too!

For 3 hours, immerse your senses in the world of edible trees, shrubs and flowers! This fascinating Gardens of the World tour gives you the chance to study the various gardens of World Showcase with a Disney Horticulture expert. Follow along as you’re taken on a journey around the world, examining the various edibles indigenous to each country.

Not only will you learn all about these edible sights, but you’ll be invited to delight in their unique food and drink flavors—and discuss different ways you can adapt their growing techniques in your own garden!

Important Information

The price of this tour is $85.00 plus tax, per Guest.
Guests must be at least 12 years of age to participate. In addition, Guests under 18 years of age who are participating in the tour must be accompanied by a paying Guest at least 18 years of age.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
To make a reservation, visit Guest Relations or call (407) WDW-TOUR for availability. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.
Tours take place on select Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM during the Festival (Aug. 31st-Nov.13th).
Epcot admission is also required and is not included in the price of the Gardens of the World tour.
You’ll be on your feet for the duration of this 3-hour walking tour. With that in mind, make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring along water or a beverage to stay hydrated.
Actual tour locations and the order in which they are presented are subject to change.

Liberty Inn Next EPCOT Location to Offer Mobile Order

Liberty Inn at The American Adventure in World Showcase will be the next EPCOT quick service location to add Mobile Order. Beginning August 7 Liberty Inn will join Electric Umbrella in offering the convenience of Mobile Order to park guests. This will be the 12th location at the Walt Disney World Resort utilizing Mobile Order.

Instead of waiting in line, you can save time by ordering from wherever you are including enjoying the convenience of reviewing the menu and making your selections while you’re waiting for an attraction.

Open the My Disney Experience app:

Tap on the image of your character, scroll down to “My Plans” and press the “Order Food” button.
Select “Dining” from the top of the app, tap on the restaurant you want and press the “Order Food” button.
From there, just select the menu items that you want to order.

Disney is currently only accepting credit cards and debit cards for mobile order payments. If you would like to use Disney Gift Cards, Disney dining plans or any discounts that may be available to you, you most order in person at the restaurant.

Are eSports and Drone Racing Events Coming to the ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Professional gaming and eSports are extremely popular right now. In fact, professional and competitive gaming is as popular as streaming services online. One estimate brings the eSports industry’s global revenue for 2016 to around $500 million. Many people look to watching others “game” online as a form of entertainment.

It sounds like now Disney is trying to get a piece of the eSports pie. Faron Kelley, Vice President of Sports at Walt Disney World has said “We are trying to keep up with what sports are breaking and how we can be involved in them. Sports is a big one we are looking at and are very excited about it.”

The ESPN Wide World of Sports has even more than just desire to host these eSports events. They will have the space too. Last year, Disney announced in a partnership with Varsity Spirit that they would be building an indoor stadium capable of seating 8,000 people. The new arena will be 3000,000 square feet and will be the world’s first stadium to focus on cheer leading and dance. The arena may cater to cheer leading and dance but it will also be equipped to handle various other events like eSports events. At the time of the announcement, Kelley said, “It is exciting because it isn’t just cheer, it’s basketball, it’s volleyball, it’s eSports with gaming. We are absolutely looking at e-sports and it’s a wonderful venue for that.”

Even though no exact date has been given as when one could take in an eSports Event at Disney, Kelley has said eSports “will come here very soon.”

Another up and coming event that may be coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is drone racing. Drone racing is currently broadcasted on ESPN. This event can take place indoor the new arena and outdoors as well. Kelley had this to say about drone racing, “We are talking to our partners at ESPN that cover a lot of drone racing. Drone racing is very interesting and it’s a sport that we are looking at, not just for our new facility but our other facilities, whether it’s indoors or outdoors throughout the complex.”

Mobile Order Now Available at EPCOT

Mobile Order is now available at the first EPCOT quick service location. The Electric Umbrella in Future World is the first EPCOT location to offer this service.

Guests simply access the service through the My Disney Experience app. Once the app is opened, the steps are pretty easy to place your order.

Introducing the Dole Whip Parfait! This delicious delight takes your love of the classic Dole Whip to the next level. It consists of pineapple-whipped mousse layered with vanilla cake and pineapple and topped with a dollop of whipped cream.

The treat actually started off as a limited edition Moana-themed snack last year. It came topped with a chocolate heart of Te Fiti pendant! However, it was so popular that it has been added as a permanent fixture replacing the chocolate pendant with a pineapple chunk.

Ok, who else has tried the Moana Inspired Pineapple Parfait from Disneyland’s Bengal BBQ? I wasn’t expecting to love it and we ended up LOVING it! Layered pineapple mousse, vanilla cake, crushed pineapple and whipped cream on top with the cutest chocolate Heart of Tefiti Pendant on top. ADORABLE? The popular nighttime show “Fantasmic!” has re-opened with new scenes and a ship full of ghost pirates performing spectacular duels and falls. Projection mapping and three-dimensional video technology make “Fantasmic!” more spectacular than ever.

The Disneyland Railroad, one of the park’s original attractions, returned July 29 with its iconic steam-powered locomotives for new adventures. The Disneyland Railroad now travels on a trestle that extends out into the Rivers of America, passing five stunning waterfalls. The Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes relaunched July 29, too, offering beautiful views of the new river scenes.
Also in Disneyland, Star Wars and Disney fans will step into out-of-this-galaxy adventures at Star Wars Launch Bay, meeting some Star Wars characters and getting an up-close look at replica props and models from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

Avengers - Captain America

Across both parks, guests will meet characters familiar and new – from Moana and Chewbacca to the stars of Summer of Heroes, including Groot, Captain America and Spider-Man. Groot makes his first appearance in a Disney park.
At Disney California Adventure, “Disney Junior Dance Party!” creates a fun concert experience where adults and kids can sing and dance along to the music.
Summer of Heroes continues through Sept. 10 at Disney California Adventure, with limited-time offerings that include interactive experiences and photo opportunities with some favorite Super Heroes.
Guests will enjoy dishes and drinks that reflect the bold personalities of familiar Super Heroes.

At Pandora – The World of Avatar transports guests to a mystical world of bioluminescent rainforests and floating mountains. Inspired by the epic film AVATAR from director James Cameron, the all-new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park invites guests to soar in simulated flight on the wings of banshees and sail a sacred river leading to an unforgettable encounter with the Shaman of Songs.

Pandora – The World of Avatar

Pet banshees fly off the shelves – Pet banshees found at the Windtraders merchandise location have become a certifiable craze, initially selling out within a month of Pandora’s grand opening. These banshees can perch on your shoulder, and their movements and sounds can be controlled by hand. While banshees have “flown” off the shelves, limited supplies have been reappearing in Windtraders with more on the way.
A wall becomes an internet sensation – The moss wall in Pandora – The World of Avatar has taken the social media world by storm. Located just outside Windtraders, the wall has become a must-see for Disney fans who flock to it as a worthy selfie spot. It has prompted the creation of Instagram accounts and hashtags resulting in more than 9,700 posts and over 2,500 new “moss wall” followers. The first #mosswall tweets date to early May when Pandora was in previews and continue strong to this day.

A specialty beverage gets “glowing” reviews – At Pongu Pongu refreshment station, the exotic Night Blossom is a huge hit with guests. This neon-colorful frozen creation is inspired by Pandora. It features layers of apple and pear flavors mixed with limeade and topped with passion fruit boba balls. More than 2,000 are served every day. Disney has recently increased its signing bonus from $500 to $1,000 or $1,500 for new full-time and part-time employees in the culinary department. The culinary industry is quite competitive and finding chefs and cooks is a challenge which no doubt motivated the increase.

Pandora – The World of Avatar opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this May, offering guests the chance to step into the the world of Pandora. Now Disney is partnering with the Orlando Museum of Art to bring the world of Avatar to the museum for one night only.

Orlando Museum of Art hosts an event the first Thursday of every month “1st Thursdays” the monthly event showcases local artists, with music and refreshments. On August 3rd 1st Thursday theme will be “Pandora – Celebrating The Beauty of The Natural World.” The event will run from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with special presentations by Creative Director Joe Rhode at 7:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments off the menu from Satu’li Canteen, the restaurant located in Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Liberty Square Riverboat Closed For Refurbishment Until August 10th

Guests heading to the Magic Kingdom over the next couple of weeks should be aware that the Liberty Square Riverboat, which takes guests on a scenic journey around the Rivers of America will be close for refurbishment until August 10th.

This closure will also have on impact on Tiana’s Riverboat Party which takes place aboard the Riverboat. Those Princess and the Frog fans hoping to catch up with Tiana, can still visit her during regular park hours at Princess Fairtytale Hall or you can catch a glimpse of her and Prince Naveen in the Festival of Fantasy Parade which takes place each afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. Guests should consult the Times Guide upon arrival to the park for further details.

Disney hasn’t released any further details regarding the reasons for the closure but keep following along with Chip and Co and we promise to keep you posted.
