Open Auditions For American Idol Happening At Disney Springs

In celebration of American Idol’s new home on ABC in 2018 the “Idol” bus will kick off open auditions at Walt Disney World! Mark your calendars for August 17 and head down to Disney Springs to audition with the “American Idol” producers. Unfortunately the celebrity judges won’t be there but if you’ve got what it takes then I’m sure it won’t be long till you meet them in person.

Parking opens at 4 a.m. (not before!) and registration begins at 6 a.m. with auditions starting at 8 a.m. Early arrival is encouraged, as registration will close at 12:00 p.m or sooner due to capacity. Overnight camping is not allowed.

These will be outdoor auditions so come prepared with your water, sunscreen, and hats to beat the heat. Parking will be available at the surface parking lot on the West Side of Disney Springs, near House of Blues and Cirque du Soleil.

All singers must be at least 15 years old to audition. Pre-Registration is encouraged. To Pre-Register and for additional details, full eligibility requirements, submission forms, and terms and conditions, visit www.americanidol.com. Those auditioning can bring one guest to accompany them and the guest must be over 5 years old.

If you are at Magic Kingdom, you must visit the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe right in Liberty Square, where you can ‘shoppe’ for your favorite Disney ornament.

And over at Epcot, you can find unique hand-made crystal ornaments at Die Weihnachts Ecke at the Germany pavilion. Literally “the Christmas corner,” this store is a great place to learn about the famous ‘pickle’ ornament and other German Christmas traditions.

I'm Loving this Gorgeous Floral Crown Minnie Mouse Headband

It’s no secret that I am totally obsessed with mouse ear headbands, and I especially love the unique handmade ones. Sometimes though I come across a pair that really stuns me, and this Floral Crown Minnie Mouse Headband was definetly one that did!

This incredibly talented designer does a unique twist to the iconic mouse ears. Not only does she use colorful wires and silk flowers, but she adds the most amazing detailed with the sculpted wire. Each headband is made to order, so you get your own unique handcrafted ears made just for you. The pink floral one above features a wire sculpted crown detail that really compliments the band. Another pair with an incredible wire detail is the Ursula inspired pair. There’s a crown shaped just like Ursula’s set between the two ears!

Once Upon A Time Season 6

ABC’s Once Upon A Time just finished a fiery 6th Season and for those that need to play catch-up or who want to revisit some of the tantalizing storylines , you’ll be able to enjoy every moment when all 22 episodes are released on Blue-Ray and DVD on August 15th.

This season features as many sharp twists, turns and surprises as in previous seasons. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s in store:

With the heart of Regina’s Dark Half destroyed, its looks like there may finally be peach in Storybrooke. That is until the Evil Queen reemerges with a vengeance leading to massive showdown between Regina and her arch rival. In the meantime Gold tries to win back Belle before she gives birth to their child but with heartbreaking consequences while Snow White and David fall victim to a horrific curse. Finally there’s Emma who longs for a happy ending with Hook. However, fates seems to have other plans.

Happily Ever After, the newest nighttime show at Magic Kingdom, now has more ways to enjoy the night. The Happily Ever Dessert Party has two different viewing locations and even more desserts to enjoy.

Guests will begin their evening at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, where a tempting array of freshly prepared desserts, seasonal fruits and flavorful cheeses awaits. As showtime nears guests will either be escorted to a prime location in the Plaza Garden for priority viewing of the nighttime fireworks spectacular or enjoy reserved seating at Tomorrowland Terrace.

A Villains Chocolate Cupcake has purple buttercream and chocolate crispy pearls.
Pineapple Delight is a Dole Whip-inspired treat, light and fresh with whipped pineapple panna cotta with pineapple compote and a fresh pineapple spear.

Chocolate Marshmallow Tart is a reimagined s’more: a graham cracker tart with chocolate custard topped with marshmallow meringue and a chocolate bar.

ABC’s The Middle Enters its Ninth and Final Season This Fall

I am so sad to say the upcoming ninth season of ABC’s The Middle will be the final season for the popular sitcom and we will be saying goodbye to the Heck family. The series has followed Frankie (Patricia Heaton), Mike (Neil Flynn), Axl (Charlie McDermott), Sue (Eden Sher), and Brick (Atticus Shaffer), and their life in Orson, Indiana. The Series has had an amazing run with three Humanitas Prize nominations and one win, a Critic’s Choice Award nomination and Gracie Award for Outstanding Comedy; as well as a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy series for Eden Sher’s role as Sue Heck.

“The Heck family has been part of the ABC family for almost a decade. It’s rare for a series to have this type of longevity, and we are proud to have been its home. We’ve watched Axl, Sue and Brick grow up right before our eyes under Frankie and Mike’s unique parenting style,” said Dungey. “I’m looking forward to the fitting and happy ending the producers will give the Hecks and our viewers.”

Designated Smoking Area Maps Introduced at Disney World

Designated smoking areas at Walt Disney World have been around for some time now. Walt Disney World Resorts, Restaurants, and Parks are all considered non-smoking except in these designated areas.

Designated smoking locations are listed on the guide maps of the four main Parks. However, as of this past weekend, large maps have been installed in Epcot letting guests know exactly where the designated areas are located.

So far, we have only seen these maps in Epcot and not any of the other three Disney World Parks. We are not sure if they are temporary for the Food and Wine Festival or if these will be a permanent fixture and added to the other Parks.

Harry Potter Playwright to Re-Write Star Wars: Episode IX Script

Things are getting exciting in the world of Star Wars with the news today that Episode IX will undergo a series of rewrites at the hands of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child playright Jack Thorne.

Apart from his collaboration with J.K. Rowling, Thorne’s other projects include BBC’s recent adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials as well as Philip K. Dicks Electric Sheep which could make him a nice fit for the genre.

The original script for Star Wars: Episode IX was written by director Colin Trevorrow and writer Derek Connolly. As of going to print, there is significant speculation around why the re-writes are happening and how substantial they will be. A potential factor is the recent passing of Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) who was heavily featured in the original version of the script.

The movie has a scheduled release date of May 24, 2019.

Comedian and Disney voice actor Scott Adsit today reprised his role as Baymax, the beloved personal healthcare companion from Big Hero 6 – in the newest episode of the popular digital series “Disney IRL” which brings lovable Disney characters into the real world and captures the surprising reactions.

In “Baymax IRL,” surprised beachgoers were treated to a dose of Disney magic when everyone’s favorite robot healthcare companion comes to the rescue of passersby in distress for an adorable “in real life” experience.

Baymax monitors pollen levels in the air, roots on a jogger and even hits the field to participate in a game of soccer. When Baymax comes to the real world to live out his life’s purpose – to help people – everyone is surely to be satisfied with their care.

The debut episode of Disney Digital Network’s “Disney IRL,” in which Pixar voice actor Bob Peterson again took on the role of the talking dog “Dug” from the film Up in a hidden-camera video that quickly went viral, garnering 5 million views in the first 24 hours and 40 million views to-date.
