When it’s hot hot hot in the summer time, I love to cool down with icies or shaved ice! Shaved ice is the best when you get to make it at home and add your own flavors too. I’ve seen a few Disney shaved ice makers, but they’ve been very cartoony like the Olaf one. I was quite impressed to see this imported Mickey Mouse Ice Shaver from Japan, it’s sleek and would look great in any kitchen.

The Main Street Electrical Parade Comes to the End of the Road at Disneyland This Month

Unfortunately, the time has come for the Main Street Electrical Parade to make it’s last march down Main Street USA at Disneyland. The last day the parade will run is August, 20. It was scheduled to end this past June but was extended to this month.

Since its first performance at Disneyland park 45 years ago, Main Street Electrical Parade has become the iconic Disney Parks nighttime parade, even traveling across the country to delight guests at Walt Disney World Resort. Take a look through the years of the parade in the video below!

Now the big question is, “Where will it go?” Rumors have been circulating that it may go back to Disney World at the Magic Kingdom or maybe even Epcot? Another rumor is that it will be retired for good. Others speculate that it will be going to an overseas Disney Park. We will just have to wait and see!

New Tour Opportunity Announced for Disneyland

The Disneyland Railroad is back! With it’s return brings a new tour for guests to take part in at Disneyland Park. “The Grand Circle Tour” will allow guests to see firsthand the importance of trains at Disney Parks and Resorts.

Included in the tour is a beverage and an exclusive themed-doughnut for all guests. The tour will offer guests a chance to learn about Walt’s love of trains. You will even be able to hop aboard the Lilly Belle, Walt’s VIP train car.

A soft opening for this new tour is currently underway during weekends at 8:15 am PST. The tour will cost each guest $85.

Marvel Studios Announces "Ant-Man and The Wasp" is in Production

Marvel Studios made an announcement today that production has begun on “Ant-Man and The Wasp”. “Ant-Man” fans will be excited to hear that the next chapter will be here in 2018.

Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Academy Award® winner Michael Douglas, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and David Dastmalchian will be returning to their original roles on the big screen. Joining the cast will be Academy Award® nominees Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne, along with Hannah John-Kamen, Walton Goggins, and Randall Park. “Ant-Man” director Peyton Reed will be returning as well.

In Marvel’s latest chapter, Scott Lang (Rudd) struggles with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a dad. As he struggles with his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must suit up once again, and fight alongside The Wasp as they work together to uncover secrets from their past.

Marvel Studios continues to break records at the box office “Guardians of the Galaxy” brought in $860 million worldwide box office to date. Last month “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opened at #1 with an opening weekend box office of $117 million and has earned a worldwide box office of over $633 million to date. “Captain America: Civil War,” opened on May 6 with the fifth largest opening weekend of all time and has since garnered box office receipts of over $1.15 billion worldwide.

“Ant-Man and The Wasp” opens in U.S. theaters on July 6, 2018.

Jaume Collet-Serra Named Director for Disney's "Jungle Cruise"

Jaume Collet-Serra has recently been named as the director of Disney’s upcoming live action production of Jungle Cruise. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will headline this production that is based on the Walt Disney World and Disneyland attractions by the same name. The plot details have been carefully guarded and kept under wraps for now.

Collet-Serra has directed a number of thrillers including the remake House of Wax (2005), the psychological thriller Orphan (2009), the action-thrillers Unknown (2011), Non-Stop (2014), and Run All Night (2015), and the survival horror-thriller The Shallows (2016). He was reportedly being considered for the Suicide Squad 2 but opted to join Johnson on the Jungle Cruise instead.

Jungle Cruise is expected to begin production next April.

Decorate and Stack with a Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum Display

Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum Display

So I might have a small Tsum Tsum problem, or maybe a large problem with small Tsum Tsums. By problem, I mean I may just have A LOT of them! So, I’m always running out of ways to display them. I think CreativeGraphicsInc on Etsy has solved my problem however with this fabulous Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum Display!

The Mickey displays are laser cut from 1/4″ thick birch wood. They also offer these in an Initial design! Those would be adorable in a nursery or kid’s room. They are made to order, and shipped to you ready to paint if you would like to add a splash of color. Although I’m rather partial to the natural wood. The displays are are made with 2 pieces of wood, to have be light and still have a dimensional look.

I love the idea of a Mickey shaped display case, and think it’s the perfect way to display the cutest little Disney plushies ever.

Photo Update on Construction of Disney Skyliner Gondola System

Our wonderful Disney reporter, Lisette, stopped by Art of Animation and Pop Century this week to take a look at how the construction was going on the new Disney Skyliner Gondola System.

She even was able to talk to one of the construction workers working on the project to get an update of what was currently going on. She was told that the Main Station for the gondolas was going to be in the back of the 50’s building parking lot at Pop Century. There also will be a stop of the gondolas near the Generation Gap Bridge.

As of today, there was actually a bridge put in place while construction walls go up on the Generation Gap Bridge but we are hearing that is only temporary while they are putting gates up. It should be down by tomorrow.

Photo Update: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Construction at Hollywood Studios

Construction for Star Wars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been well underway for some time now. With the latest information from D23 Expo 2017 we know that this new Star Wars themed land will be named Galaxy’s Edge and will officially open in 2019, fully immersing guests into the world of Star Wars. Thanks to our very own Lisette Raynor, we have a sneak peek on the latest progress of Disney World’s largest park expansion.

It is incredible how much progress has been made in a week! Pictured below are the remaining buildings from Streets of America, this area is being reimagined and will be the future home the Baseline Tap House, a corner pub, which is replacing the Writer’s Stop.

If you take a look at the photo below, you can see what looks to be the framing of an AT-AT. Look on the left side of the photo, near the middle, just below the large horizontal steel beam…do you see it? So exciting to see features like that, taking shape!

This may be one of the most anticipated park expansions yet. The 14 acre expansion is the biggest yet for the Walt Disney World Resort, and the theme of the land is sure to bring a whole new fan base to Disney. Let’s not forget Disney announced they are opening a Star Wars Themed Resort as well! There is so much to look forward to for Disney World in the years ahead, are you planning on visiting Galaxy’s Edge when it opens in 2019?

Refurbished Pop Century Rooms in Building 9 Now Available to Guests

Refurbished Pop Century Rooms in Building 9 Now Available to Guests

Its such an exciting time for guests staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort as the property goes through an extensive refurbishment of guest rooms. Work began on rooms starting in March this year with the 80’s and 90’s sections being the first to receive upgrades.

Changes to rooms include hard floors instead of carpeting, the addition of a queen bed as well as a dining room table that converts into a double bed (similar to the ones currently available at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort) as well as new layouts in the bathrooms including improved storage and new baths/showers.

Refurbished Pop Century Rooms in Building 9 Now Available to Guests

Our sources tell us that building 9 has just finished completion and began welcoming guests on July 26th. Disney is also in the process of clearing out building 10 to begin renovations.

Work is continuing to happen on building 7 which will be completed next month. Refurbished Pop Century Rooms in Building 9 Now Available to Guests

Once work in 7 is completed, Disney will then begin making alterations in Building 6 so that both 70’s buildings are being refurbished together.

Guests should note that you can request a refurbished room at Pop Century though Disney may not be able to honor all requests. If staying at the resort in the weeks or months ahead, you should also be prepared to stay in a room that may not have yet been upgraded.
