Another Week, Another Itinerary Change for the Disney Fantasy

For the third week in a row, Disney has altered the Fantasy’s itinerary. This week, the change is due to Tropical Storm Harvey out in the Caribbean.

The Fantasy just departed on a 7-night Western Caribbean sailing from Port Canaveral. Passengers on the sailing were informed that they will be reversing their ports of call due to the storm. Instead of visiting Cozumel, Mexico on Monday and Falmouth, Jamaica on Wednesday, they will swap those two ports and visit Falmouth on Monday and Cozumel on Wednesday. The scheduled port of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on Tuesday will go unchanged.

Even though the itinerary has changed, no ports will be missed on Disney’s efforts to navigate around the storm.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway Signage is Now Up after the Closure of The Great Movie Ride

Before some of us could finish mourning the closure of The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios, new signage has appeared with a taste of what is to come. The Great Movie Ride completed its final act on Sunday, August 13. This area will soon host one of Disney’s newest attractions Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

The addition of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was first announced this summer at the D23 Expo. Disney Parks Blog recently offered this description of the new attraction:

The attraction will put you inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse Cartoon Short where you’re the star and anything can happen. This zany out-of-control adventure features surprising twists and turns, dazzling visual effects and mind-boggling transformations that happen before your very eyes.

Located at the exit of the theatre is a photo backdrop promoting the coming attraction for guests to enjoy. No official opening date has been announced.

Disneyland is Now Selling Custom Magic Wands

The folks over at Inside the Magic just discovered these customizable magic wands for sale at Disneyland Paris! Reports state that Disney teamed up wtih Arribas Crystal Arts to bring these beauties to life. The wants are inspired by the classic Disney movie The Sword and the Stone. They are even created by a glassblower while you watch. Then, you can fill the wand with your choice of colorful magic crystals.

Telltale Games, along with Marvel Entertainment will be releasing the third of five episodes Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series entitled ‘More Than a Feeling” starting on August 22nd. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s in store for Guardians fans:

In this episode, the Guardians of the Galaxy, after tracking down the origins of the Eternity Forge, encounter an eccentric being who may hold the key to unlocking the Forge’s True power. Gamora and Nebula are still working through their sibling rivalry while Hala is bent on reclaiming the Forge using any means necessary. It is up to Star-Lord to make a crucial decision that could change the fate of the Galaxy.

‘More Than a Feeling’ will be available to download for $4.99 via PlayStation®4, Xbox One®, Windows PC, and Mac, as well as the App Store® and Google Play™. A ‘Season Pass Disc’ is also available at retailers across North American for $29.99 USD. The ‘Season Pass Disc’ includes episode one ‘Tangled Up in Blue’ and grants access to download the other four episodes in the series through online updates as they are released.

The series features a star-studded cast of voice talent, including Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O’Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot.

PhotoPass Day Celebrated Around the World

Today, August 19, marks the return of Disney PhotoPass Day at the Walt Disney World Resort. This year also brings with it the expansion of PhotoPass Day to Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland. Each park is offering a variety of unique and exclusive photo opportunities as PhotoPass Day is celebrated around the world.

As we shared with you earlier this week, each park will feature exciting opportunities to meet your favorite Disney Princesses as part of our “Dream Big, Princess” campaign. This new initiative uses photographic images to place the spotlight on inspiring stories of real women and girls around the world.

Although the Disneyland Resort is not officially participating in this year’s PhotoPass Day there are still plenty of opportunities to capture some great photos at this year’s Summer of Heroes celebration. Summer of Heroes provides guests the chance to meet some of your favorite heroes face-to-face including the Reclusive Black Widow, Spider-Man and Captain America. Hurry though, as Summer of Heroes will come to end on September 9.

Tokyo Disney Sea has offered guests some fun photo props as a part of their Disney Pirates Summer. This photo opportunity will complete its voyage on August 31.

Everyone is talking about the solar eclipse that will be happening this coming Monday, August 21st. The eclipse is the first total solar eclipse that will be visible in the United States since 1979, which makes it even more exciting, however looking directly at a solar eclipse can cause permanent damage to your eyes. Crayola Experience in Orlando has announced that they will be hosting a safe viewing party for families.

The eclipse viewing party will take place Monday, August 21st from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Crayola plans to stream NASA’s live feed, providing a safe environment for families to watch the eclipse together. While the guests at the party will not be viewing the solar eclipse directly, they will have a chance to craft their own glasses and telescopes during the event. There will also be fun glowing merchandise and a popcorn cart for guests to enjoy.

The Crayola Experience is located in the Florida Mall in Orlando, FL. Regular admission is $22.99 at the door or $19.99 online and children under 3 get in free.
