Disney Branded Television has confirmed the return of powerhouse talents Brandy and Rita Ora, who will once again grace our screens as Cinderella and the formidable Queen of Hearts in “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,” the highly anticipated fifth chapter of the beloved Disney Channel Original Movie saga.

“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” explores what “happily ever after” really means for Red (Cantrall) and Chloe (Baker) following their time-traveling adventures in the 2024 hit film “Descendants: The Rise of Red.” Set primarily in present-day Wonderland with a host of new and familiar characters, this sequel delves into the warning at the end of the previous movie: There are consequences when you alter the fabric of time.

Even before the Disneyland Resort formally kicks off its highly anticipated 70th Anniversary Celebration, the heart of the park, Sleeping Beauty Castle, has received a special tribute. A significant “70” medallion has been carefully placed on its front, serving as a bold declaration of this historic occasion and immediately immersing guests in the celebratory atmosphere.

A vibrant display now graces Sleeping Beauty Castle, where a golden “70” medallion takes center stage. It’s elegantly suspended against flowing colorful chiffon drapery and framed by delicate blue and pink filigree. The gleaming numerals stand out against a backdrop of a charming blue and pink floral design, creating a festive focal point. Interestingly, while this central decoration is in place, the banners currently adorning the castle’s bridge still await their transformation into the matching 70th-anniversary designs previously revealed in concept art.

While the Disneyland Resort’s actual 70th anniversary falls on July 17, 2025, the official 70th Anniversary Celebration will commence on May 16th and extend throughout the summer of 2026, offering an extended period of festivities.

Some Attractions Temporarily Closed During Epic Universe Preview Period

Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe is almost ready to power up for its big debut on May 22, but if you’re heading to one of the park’s final preview days, you might run into a few “leveling up” signs scattered around the park. As Universal adds the finishing touches, a couple of key attractions are currently listed as temporarily closed during the preview period. Here’s what you need to know before you warp into the action:

🧙 May 10–16: Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry™
The highly anticipated flagship attraction in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will be offline from May 10–16. While the ride takes a brief breather, the Ministry itself is expected to remain open for self-guided tours, so you can still soak up the stunning 1920s Parisian magic and maybe even spot a few magical surprises lurking around the corridors.

The ride has been using a virtual queue during previews as Universal fine-tunes operations. Taking it offline during these last few preview days could be a promising sign that they’re working to bring it to full capacity in time for opening day!

🐉 May 13–16: Viking Training Camp – Isle of Berk
Your little dragon riders will have to hold off on their training for just a bit longer — the Viking Training Camp (a kid-friendly play area in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk) will be closed May 13–16 as the team puts the final touches in place for launch day. This area has been a hit with families during previews, so expect it to be roaring back to life soon.
