Disneyland After Dark Returns on May 3rd with Star Wars-themed Night

Ring in May the Fourth the Star Wars way with a special version of Disneyland After Dark. On the evening of May 3rd, guests can celebrate all things Star War including the new “March of the First Order” as well as opportunities to meet Rey at Star Wars Launch Bay. Oh, and let’s not forget the return of Hyperspace Mountain!

Guests are encouraged to come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character for this after-hours event. Other highlights include:

Exclusive after-hours access to Disneyland beginning at 6 p.m.
Special entertainment, character encounters and more!
Immersive Star Wars-themed photo opportunities.
An exclusive commemorative keepsake lanyard and complimentary PhotoPass photos during the event.

Donald's Dino Bash!

A prehistoric celebration is hitting Dinoland, U.S.A. this summer! Beginning May 25th, Donald Duck is taking over Dinoland, U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Donald’s Dino-Bash!

Celebrate Donald’s recent discovery that ducks are actually descendants of dinosaurs, along with several of Donald’s friends, including Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack. Donald and his feathered friends will all be on hand to meet guests.

In addition to bringing his own decorating touch to the land, Donald will throw a nightly dance party where everyone is welcome to “shake their tail feathers.”

Make sure you head over to Dinoland, U.S.A. this summer to join in the party! You won’t want to miss it!

The wonderful worlds of Pixar are getting a new home at Disney California Adventure Park when Pixar Pier opens on June 23, 2018, transforming the area that is now Paradise Pier with the thrilling, new Incredicoaster, four new imaginative neighborhoods, the new Lamplight Lounge, plus exciting entertainment, themed food and beverage, and merchandise. We decided to explore the current state of the Pier this weekend to see how construction was coming along.

The first neighborhood is inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “The Incredibles” which opens with the new Incredicoaster. Permanently transformed from the attraction that was California Screamin’, Incredicoaster invites guests into a mid-century-modern-style loading area where they will board vehicles with a distinctive, new look. New character moments, new scenes and special effects, and an exciting musical score connect the attraction’s story to Pixar’s “The Incredibles 2,” which opens in theaters June 15, 2018.

The neighborhood inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story” includes the popular Toy Story Mania! attraction. Another new neighborhood is inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Inside Out,” and a new “Inside Out” family-friendly attraction is scheduled to open in that neighborhood at a later date.

A fourth new neighborhood celebrates a collection of guest-favorite Pixar stories. Mickey’s Fun Wheel transforms into a newly-themed Pixar attraction, allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful sights of Pixar Pier from 24 new gondolas – each one decorated with a beloved Pixar pal.

Another exciting location opening at Pixar Pier on June 23 is the new Lamplight Lounge, an elegant yet fun gathering place for the entire family at the entrance of Pixar Pier. The seaside lounge will contain a full bar with picturesque waterfront views of Paradise Bay from both upstairs and downstairs. At night, outdoor seating will provide views of the illuminated Pixar Pier and “World of Color.”

Prior to its transformation, this location was Ariel’s Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar. The Cove Bar and Ariel’s Grotto have been closed while construction has been underway. But as of Friday, the upper part of Cove Bar has reopened temporarily until May 28. But don’t worry, when this location re-opens as the Lamplight Louge it will still serve the guest favorite Lobster Nachos!

Review: Morimoto Sakura Festival – Crooked Can Happy Hour!

We had so much fun getting to check out the Morimoto Sakura Festival kickoff by attending the Crooked Can Happy Hour! Morimoto Asia is adorned with the beautiful pink Cherry Blossoms of the Sakura tree, making it the perfect spot to snap a pic!

As we headed upstairs for the Crooked Can Happy Hour, we were greeted with the amazing scents of the Pan-Asian bites that accompany the delicious Morimoto-exclusive Crooked Can Sakura Kolsch. In an incredible partnership, Morimoto Asia has partnered with the amazing local Crooked Can brewery to bring us a delicate floral beer with the perfect spring flavor.

We were even able to meet with some of the Crooked Can crew to chat about the partnership with Morimoto Asia. As a local, I absolutely love that Morimoto partners with and supports this incredible local business! Side note: If you have an extra day in town, or are local, be sure to check out Crooked Can Brewery in Winter Garden for amazing brews, bites, live music, and a friendly place to hang out with your fur-babies (dogs are welcome at Crooked Can Brewery!).

Throughout our evening, we were able to experience the incredible Sakura Kolsch, a Mango Kolsch, and three various Kolsch cocktails including the Cherry Shandy, Sakura Spritz, and Tequila Lemonade Kolsch. So delicious!

In addition to the Kolsch collection, we were delighted with a variety of Pan-Asian bites, including an amazing Summer Spring Roll with shrimp, a delicious Chicken Satay with a scrumptious peanut sauce, Sticky Rice Balls with shrimp, a savory Pork Slider with a cherry blossom slaw, and the cutest Mochi with bean paste!

Review: Morimoto Sakura Festival – Crooked Can Happy Hour!

One of my favorite features of the Sakura Festival has to be the incredibly photogenic Cherry Blossom Martini! The prettiest shade of millennial pink, this cocktail is what Cherry Blossom dreams are made of! It tastes like a light, refreshing spring breeze, with the perfect floral balance of flavors. It has definitely made my list of favorite cocktails on Disney property!
