Like other events, there’s a scavenger hunt to add a little extra sprinkle of fun to your journey around the World Showcase. Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree Scavenger Hunt takes you around the world showcase, with a special prize for completing the checklist.

You can purchase this scavenger hunt map at select locations in Epcot for $6.99. Once you have a map, you’ll travel around the World Showcase, looking for Chip and Sale who are collecting ornaments for their Christmas Tree. After you’ve helped Chip and Dale find an ornament in each country, you’ll be rewarded with a special prize!

You’ll have the opportunity to choose from one of three sets of mini buttons! The button packs come with 1 medium button, and five mini buttons. The main button says Chip and Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree, and then each mini features a different ornament you helped the feisty little chipmunk pals find around the showcase.

Holiday Yule Log – Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party -Main Street Bakery-Magic Kingdom –  (pictures) This special treat is available exclusively to party guests and consists of a white chocolate mousse, raspberry mousse, cassis pate de fruit and chocolate flourless cake.  It comes decorated with a red glaze with white chocolate and is topped with a Mickey and Minnie garnish.

Nightmare Before Christmas Cake Push Pop – Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – Sleepy Hollow- Magic Kingdom – The perfect party treat for Nightmare Before Christmas fans the push pop features layers of orange vanilla cake, cranberry cherry mousse, white crispy pearls, cream cheese buttercream and holiday sprinkles. Its also topped with a chocolate Sandy Claws!

Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays has taken over the park, bringing joyous holiday traditions from the 11 countries around the World Showcase. The festival features many holiday kitchens, special performances, and more including a Festive Center which is home to the Cookie Nook Holiday Kitchen. The Cookie Nook Holiday Kitchen serves an assortment of cookies, hot cocoa, beer and wine.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Family Preview Night

The Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom hosted Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Family Preview Night.  We were there to experience all that this special party event has to offer.  Here is our overview.

We received a complimentary giant Santa Claus Cookie when we arrived and that was just the beginning!  Complimentary treat stations were signified with a glowing air-filled peppermint stick.  Beverages included hot cocoa, apple juice, sparkling cider and eggnog.  Sweet edible treats were Cookies, Snowman Shaped Soft Pretzels, Sno-cones, and Dove Chocolates.  Our personal favorites were the Ginger Molasses Cookies and Eggnog.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has a number of fun family photo Magic Shots.  You know you have a winner when even your Tween wants to participate in fun family photos!

 

Characters are located at meet-and-greet stations all around the park.  We really enjoyed interacting with those fun-loving Country Bears as they roamed around Frontierland!

We were fascinated as we watched Elsa transform Cinderella’s Castle into a beautiful Ice Castle.  What a stunning transformation this is.                              See the transformation for yourself here:

 

 

One of the most magnificent parts of the Mickey’s Very Merry Chistmas Party Family Night was the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade.  We saw many of our favorite characters, dancing reindeer and Santa Claus.  The music from the parade is lovely and we found ourselves singing along.

Holiday Wishes Fireworks display are incredible.  We appreciated that these fireworks seemed to be all around us!  If you are even remotely nostalgic about the original Wishes Fireworks, that were retired earlier this year, you will love this show.

We adore the Walt Disney World Cast Members!  All evening long, they were ready with a smile, a bit of conversation and a bit of fun.  You will definitely walk away with a smile after interacting with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Cast Members.

Party merchandise this year is wonderful.  Our little one just had to have the 2017 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dancing Reindeer Shirt with long sleeves and hood.  The material is very soft and this is now her favorite shirt.

Everywhere we looked, we saw the Magic Kingdom all aglow.  Even the Pirates of the Caribbean took on it’s own festive glow.  We really enjoyed standing on either end of Main Street USA to see the glow of the lights and the buildings come to life while music played.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the kind of event that lets you gather and connect with a true Family Night gathering.  The event has something to offer all ages.  We have not laughed, sang and danced together like that in a long time.  A very special thank you to the Walt Disney World Team for understanding the need for families to connect and for creating this wonderful holiday party that encourages families to gather together for the Holiday Season.

For guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the weeks ahead, we have a slightly under-the-radar party activity that’s perfect for families to squeeze in between shows, fireworks or meet and greets.

The gift shops of Fantasyland are each offering Very Merry Christmas Shop scavenger hunts providing families with an incredible opportunity to enjoy some of the amazing details that often get overlooked at these whimsical retailers.

During a recent visit to Walt Disney World, we were lucky enough to join in on the fun at Sir Mickey’s, Hundred Acre Goods and Fantasy Faire.

The rules for the scavenger hunts are simple, each shop will have 3 different friends that Mickey is shopping for.  Guests are given a wish list and then must search the shop for each item on the list.

Finally here’s the list from Sir Mickey’s.  This has to be our favorite due to the amazing Imagineering details that have gone into the shop.  There’s a story here that often gets overlooked.

Not only do you get to unravel a mystery but you also may come face to face with a Giant!

Each of the scavenger hunts can be completed quite quickly and guests will receive a celebration button for participating.  We here at Chip and Co. think the hunt is a great idea for a bit of off-the-beaten-path fun.  It can also be a great way to beat the crowds and enjoy a bit of family time as you work to solve clues.  We definitely recommend that you give it a try during your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party visit.

New Permits filed for France Pavilion Expansion with first look at location of Ratatouille Ride

Disney has recently filed a new permit for the upcoming expansion to the France Pavilion, including the Ratatouille Ride.

The new area will be behind the existing France Pavilion and will include a restroom (finally) and an open area with a fountain and extended queue area for the ride.

 

The new area is expected to be open by 2021.
