Fantastic news was released this afternoon. The new “Gods of the Vikings” exhibit has made its debut at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. Guests can visit the Stave Church Gallery and learn more about the crucial role that the Norse gods and goddesses played in the daily lives of the ancient Vikings of Scandinavia.

Disney Contributes To The Fight Against Gambling

With another $105,000 donation last month, Disney Worldwide Services, Inc. has now contributed a total of at least $4.655 million to the effort of making gambling expansion more difficult within the state of Florida.

Spearheading the proposed constitutional amendment is the group Voters in Charge, to which Disney made the only cash contribution in the month of March. The amendment would give voters the exclusive right to decide whether or not to authorize casino gambling.

As of March 31, the group has raised about $6.74 million dollars to help with their efforts.

The proposed amendment will appear as Amendment 3 on the November ballot.

Bus Stop Changes are Coming to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

As you are probably aware of by now, there are extensive renovations underway at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World. Today we have learned that some of those changes are going to be coming to one of the bus stops at the Resort. More specifically, the current bus stop at Old Port Royale will be changed from one bus stop to three separate “depots.”

Per confirmation from Disney, the following “depots” will take Guests to the following Walt Disney World locations:

Depot A

Magic Kingdom

Depot B

Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Epcot

Depot C

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney Springs
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
Typhoon Lagoon

The change in the bus stops will go into effect on Friday, April 27.

Construction at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is ongoing until further notice. However, all the dining options at the Resort are supposed to be in operation by this Summer.

Incredibles 2 plot details

We are getting closer to the June release of the much anticipated Incredibles sequel and now we have a few more Incredibles 2 plot details thanks to Entertainment Weekly!

The sequel picks up right where the first movie ended, with Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter), Mr. Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson), their children, and Frozone (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) defeating a giant robot in a very public and illegal citywide battle. At this point, you may recall that in the first film superheroes are illegal and that’s still true when the sequel begins. This government ban happened because the public got tired of the costs associated by the damages caused by their crime fighting.

But it looks like Winston Deavor (voiced by Bob Odenkirk) and his sister, Evelyn (voiced by Catherine Keener) want to “MAKE ALL SUPERS LEGAL AGAIN!” These two seem to be the most significant additions to the world of the Incredibles. Running a massive telecommunications company, sharing a link to superheroes in their past and with their money, resources and know-how they believe they can change the way the public views Supers and make them legal once again!

“It’s like when Bill Gates decides that he and his wife want to get rid of malaria,” jokes writer-director Brad Bird. “They support that and put their money behind it. And so [to us] it seemed like a good idea to have somebody feel that way about superheroes. They’ve maybe admired superheroes their whole life, and here, they have a chance to help them.”

And since we know every PR campaign needs a public face, those supers who have already outed themselves – Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible and Frozone – seem like the best choice, right?! It looks like Elastigirl is going to get the honor of leading that initial mission – resulting in Bob, our favorite Mr. Incredible, being left behind with the kids!

“It’s hard for him,” admits Nelson, the returning voice behind Bob ‘Mr. Incredible’ Parr. “He feels rejected. He certainly doesn’t feel empowered. He feels that he’s been put into the secondary role and he’s not used to that. In a way, I would think he’s finding a little bit of humiliation. But the great thing about him is that he’s willing to go through that so that the family is taken care of.”

Disney Store to Discontinue Plastic Bags in Celebration of Earth Day

Discontinue Plastic Bags

In celebration of Earth Day, and to promote reusability the Disney Store will be discontinuing the use of plastic shopping bags. Beginning May 2018 all North American stores will be phases out the use of shopping bags. To kick off the new message of sustainability, Guests will receive a Disney branded reusable shopping bag as a gift with any purchase, while supplies last.

Moving forward guests will be able to purchase the new reusable bags in medium or large sizes for $0.99. The transition to reusable bags will be implemented at Disney’s 215 retail stores across North America. These green branded bags will be reusable, and help promote sustainability for our planet.

Will you be visiting Walt Disney World on Earth Day this year? Well, Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a special treat just for you. Although the picture above can be deceiving, it is actually a chocolate cupcake. The flower pot is even edible too! Spoiler alert, it’s made of chocolate.

It is filled with chocolate pastry cream, chocolate buttercream, and chocolate cookie crumble and topped with a buttercream flower and a chocolate Earth Day sign. But you have to hurry. The Earth Day Flower Pot Cupcake is only available on April 22. We don’t have an exact price yet but their gourmet cupcakes are usually available from their self-serve bakery between $4.99 and $5.99.

Contempo Cafe, Contemporary Resort’s counter service location, will be open April 22 from 6:00 am until Midnight.

Jim Henson’s ‘Labyrinth’ Returns to Cinemas For a Nationwide Fan Celebration

Who else remembers and loves Jim Henson’s magical “Labyrinth”? Well I have good news! For three days only Fathom Events, The Jim Henson Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment are bringing the 1986 fantasy-adventure back to the big screen for three days only! To make it even more fun, audiences are encouraged to attend the screenings in costume to celebrate the nostalgia and legacy of this beloved film.

Starring David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King, and Jennifer Connelly as Sarah, who must rescue her baby brother by finding her way through the massive maze of the title, “Labyrinth” will play in movie theaters nationwide at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29; and at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, and Wednesday, May 2 (all local times).

All presentations of the film will include introductions by Brian Henson and Jennifer Connelly, captured exclusively for Fathom Events. In addition, audiences will enjoy a special theatrical screening excerpt from the award-winning fantasy series “The Storyteller.” Brian Henson will discuss the episode “Soldier and Death,” also directed by Jim Henson, and the special effects techniques that were a hallmark of “Labyrinth,” “The Storyteller,” and Jim Henson’s legacy.
Tickets for “Labyrinth” can be purchased online at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in more than 400 select movie theaters. A complete list of theater locations is available on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

Directed by Jim Henson, “Labyrinth” was produced by “Star Wars” creator George Lucas and presented by Lucasfilm Ltd. The film’s screenplay is by Terry Jones of “Monty Python” fame, from a story by Henson and Dennis Lee. Brian Froud served as the conceptual designer of the groundbreaking fantasy, with music by Trevor Jones and songs by David Bowie.

“’Labyrinth’ is one of the most frequently requested titles, and has an enormous fan base,” said Tom Lucas, Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations. “It’s a film with great appeal to a huge audience – and also a cinematic experience that can be enjoyed over and over, always revealing more surprises. Have you heard about Disney Channel’s GO! Summer yet? It is a season full of the channel’s newest daily programming schedule, spanning live-action and animated comedies. The festivities kick off with an exciting new campaign and unparalleled off-channel extensions for kids and families. The main event of the campaign is “Disney Channel GO! Fan Fest,” a special day for fans to meet dozens of Disney Channel stars at the Disneyland Resort, SATURDAY, MAY 12. The festivities begin at 11:15 a.m. PDT with Disney Channel stars featured in a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park, followed by panel discussions and meet and greet opportunities with fan-favorite Disney Channel stars, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. PDT, at Disney California Adventure Park.

The celebrity line-up includes stars from Disney Channel series “Andi Mack,” “Raven’s Home,” “Stuck in the Middle,” “Bizaardvark” and “BUNK’D,” and Disney Channel Original Movies “ZOMBIES” and “Freaky Friday.”

“Disney Channel GO! Fan Fest” will also be highlighted by a live “DuckTales” script performance (AKA “table read”) – a first for the Disneyland Resort – by the voice cast stars of “DuckTales.”

Then, the “Disney Channel GO! Road Trip” hits the open road in July and August. The interactive experience will travel across the country where fans will have a chance to make their own Disney Channel Wand ID, play games for prizes and enjoy more Disney Channel themed-activities. There will also be surprise pit stops along the way. Fans will have a chance to weigh in on where they want the “Disney Channel GO! Road Trip” to go by submitting their location suggestions at DisneyChannelRoadTrip.com, beginning May 12 through June 12.

Throughout the summer, Disney Channel will bring fans new programming, starting at 9:00 a.m. EDT/PDT on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. EDT/PDT on weekends. Highlights include new episodes of “DuckTales,” “Andi Mack,” and “Stuck in the Middle”; season premieres of “Raven’s Home,” “Tangled: The Series,” “Bizaardvark” and “BUNK’D”; premieres of “Big Hero 6 The Series,” “Big City Greens,” “Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp” and the Disney Channel Original Movie “Freaky Friday”; and the “2018 Radio Disney Music Awards.” Short-form programming will also debut throughout the summer in the DisneyNOW app, Disney Channel YouTube and Disney.com.

“The Disney Channel GO! Fan Fest” will be sponsored by Hulu. Disney Channel fans can now watch all their favorite Disney Channel series and movies on Hulu’s live TV streaming service or its on-demand library.

Go Behind The Scenes Of The Pixar Play Parade At Disneyland

Pixar Fest kicked off last weekend at Disneyland Park with the return of the Pixar Play Parade. Now you can have a peek behind the magic that brings these Pixar stories to life! Watch the creative team hard at work on different elements in the parade such as Carl Fredricksen’s house from “Up”, Riley’s rocket wagon from “Inside Out” and everyone’s favorite Pixar Lamp from “Luxo Jr”, an original Pixar short film.

According to Patrick “Buddy” Hand, the technical director of Disney Parks Entertainment, “It will take anywhere from 6 to 8 months to create an element like [these]”.

Pixar Fest will continue through September 3rd so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the Pixar Play Parade! Pixar Pier will also be opening in a few weeks at Disney California Adventure Park. It will replace the current Paradise Pier but in Pixar fashion. The new experience will feature four neighborhoods inspired by favorite Pixar movies such as Up, Toy Story and Monsters Inc.
