Yesterday, Nov. 20, the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue New York Holiday Windows and 10-story-tall theatrical Light Show were presented by Saks President Marc Metrick and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. This year, in true fairytale fashion, the windows and displays are in celebration of the 80^th anniversary of Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Sofia Carson, the multi-talented actress, star of Disney’s “Descendants”, and Hollywood Records/Republic recording artist, performed live at the unveiling event accompanied by a 40-person choir and appearances by Snow White, Snow Prince, and the seven dwarfs.

For the first time in its storied history, Saks Fifth Avenue, in collaboration with Disney, transformed all fourteen of its Fifth Avenue-facing windows into scenes from the classic fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The vignettes, presented by Mastercard, include Snow White dancing among the woodland creatures, the seven dwarfs Heigh-Ho!-ing home from a day’s work in the diamond caves, and the Wicked Queen’s mischievous trickery with the infamous red apple. Each window depicts a different scene from the film, beautifully translating the iconic story into real life delights.

In Saks New York’s 49^th Street and 50^th Street windows, four legendary designers—Alberta Ferretti, Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier, and Marchesa—have created one-of-a-kind fairytale gowns for a 21st century Snow White. The luxury dresses are set against a fantasy forest backdrop.

The window animation and light show will continue throughout the holiday season until Jan. 2, 2018. Watch video of last night’s event here:

The SpectacuLAB Brings Science Fun to Epcot Innoventions

The brand-new exciting show that opened at Innoventions at Epcot this week, The SpectacuLAB, is bringing out the scientist in guests of all ages.

The SpectacuLAB features interactive experiments and fun ways to get guests interested in the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.

Two actual scientists run each show, with commentary and fun provided by our “intern” Frankie who is learning about science on his first day of training.

The real, live scientists are provided by Science from Scientists, a non-profit organization dedicated to exciting kids about the STEM fields through thrilling, informative and engaging training by practicing scientists.

Young guests can volunteer to participate in different experiments which showcase the connection between science and technology – along with other STEM concepts. They learn about force while watching the scientists lay on a bed of nails, and about sound wave technology by testing the latest in ultrasonic drums – which can tell how far away Frankie is from them through ultrasonic sound waves.

Frankie and team will be conducting their experiments multiple times throughout the day at Epcot Innoventions. Check your times guide for showtimes!

Jonathan Groff, ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’ actor, stopped by Walt Disney World Resort to give his frosty friend, Olaf, a warm hug.

Olaf and Jonathan star in “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” a featurette that’s set to screen before Disney Pixar’s “Coco,” in theaters starting November 22. In this latest tale, royal sisters Anna and Elsa realize that unlike other families, they don’t have any holiday traditions. Olaf and Sven then embark on a hilarious journey throughout the town to find the perfect holiday traditions Anna and Elsa will love.

At Walt Disney World Resort’s Hollywood Studios, “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” has already inspired the addition of a new finale for the existing “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration”. This new finale, which will run throughout the holiday season, features Olaf and three songs from the new featurette.

Disneyland’s Southern California Annual Pass Has Been Discontinued

As of today, the popular Southern California annual pass will no longer be available to new customers, for the time being, a Disneyland spokesperson has confirmed. This annual pass allows visitors entrance to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on certain days year round.

The $469 annual pass, one of the least expensive Disneyland visitors can obtain, was removed from the website as of this morning.

Current Southern California passholders will have the option to renew their pass and those who have had their pass expire recently should be receiving a letter on how they can renew a well.

“Our annual passes are very popular with guests,” said Michele Himmelberg, a Disneyland spokeswoman. “We continuously seek the appropriate balance that helps manage demand for our product and allows us to deliver a world-class experience for all guests.”

This is not the first time the Southern California Passport has been discontinued. In 2014, Disneyland officials removed this option as a way to help manage the crowds that come Sundays to the theme parks. Disney later reintroduced it in 2016.

For residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599, this is one of two annual passes available. It allows guest to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure park about 215 day a year, with Saturdays, holidays and part of the summer blacked out. After a $97 deposit, the $31 per month fee makes it popular among the locals.

Still available is the the Southern California Select Passport, which allows visitors 170 days of access to both theme parks – mostly on weekdays. This pass is available for $339.

Disney Releases Final Atlanta Braves Spring Training Schedule

Disney announced today the 2018 Major League Baseball spring training schedule. This announcement is a little bittersweet for Disney-lovin’ Atlanta Braves fans. The 2018 schedule will mark the last spring training season that the Atlanta Braves will call Disney home.

It was announced in September of this year, that the Atlanta Braves had found a new spring training location. After 21 years of training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, the Atlanta Braves have inked a deal to relocate their spring training facilities beginning in 2019 to North Port, on Florida’s west coast.

Disney Releases Final Atlanta Braves Spring Training Schedule

The Braves will play a total of 18 home games at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in 2018. Some notable games include the World Series champion Houston Astros on March 8. The New York Yankees will be at Disney on March 9 and 24 and the Washington Nationals have games lined up on February 26 and March 1.

In true Disney fashion, the red carpet is rolled out for spring training attendees. Some entertainment highlights include special appearances by some of our favorite Disney characters as well as opportunities for kids to run the bases after every game.

Permits filed today with Water Management reveals the location as directly adjacent to Space Mountain as well as displays the massive area this new attraction will cover.

It offers access to the energy, lights and excitement of TRON’s high-tech universe and is one of the most thrilling adventures at any Disney park.

New Permits Filed For Future Magic Kingdom Theater

New water management permits were filed today that give us a more exact placement of the where the upcoming Magic Kingdom theater will be built. We have overlayed the plans with an aerial shot of the Magic Kingdom to help visualize where it will be. Usually, these plans are filed a few months in advance of construction beginning so work will most likely begin starting next year.

The theater (based on the iconic Willis Wood theater in 1920s Kansas City) was originally unveiled at the D23 Expo 2017 back in July of this year. No official completion date has been announced but it is assumed it will be completed before Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
