Minnie Van Service at Walt Disney World Gets a Price Increase

Ever since the Minnie Van service rolled out in July 2017, the Walt Disney World Resort roadways got a little more fun! Guests can arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from the Lyft app on their smartphone at the rate of $20 for a standard ride.

Starting today, February 12, the rate increases to $25 for standard ride.

Here is the full list of participating Disney World resorts with Minnie Van availability:

  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Point Requirement for Disney Vacation Club Membership Extras to Increase

Disney has just announced an important change for Disney Vacation Club members. Previously, in order to access “Membership Extras,” a DVC member would need to maintain 25 points. As of February 25, all new  DVC Members will be required to purchase and maintain 75 points to take advantage of the Membership Extras. These points must also be directly purchased from Disney and not the resale market.

Here is the direct statement from the Disney Vacation Club website:

It’s important to note that Disney says that the 75 points must be maintained. This is to avoid DVC Members purchasing the 75 points and then later selling on the resale market while still taking advantage of the Membership Extras.

Current DVC Members with more than 25 points but less than the new 75 point threshold will not need the 75 points to access the Membership Extras.

Membership Extras for DVC Members include everything from dining and merchandise discounts to a large discount on Annual Passes. Losing these Membership Extras could be a big hit to the member’s wallet. To see a list of DVC Membership Extras, please CLICK HERE.

This year will surely be the “Year of Pixar” at Disney parks, with Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land opening at Shanghai Disney Resort in April, and at Walt Disney World Resort this summer. Today at the D23 Expo Japan, fans were thrilled to learn the highly-anticipated Pixar Pier will open at Disney California Adventure on June 23, including the Incredicoaster and a future attraction themed to Disney•Pixar’s “Inside Out.”

Fans also learned that a new Incredibles float will join Paint the Night this June. The popular parade returns to the Disneyland Resort – this time to Disney California Adventure – when Pixar Fest launches on April 13. This new, high-energy Incredibles-themed float will add more Pixar fun to the electrifying “Paint the Night” parade at Disney California Adventure park. Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone will showcase their superhero awesomeness as they take on their newest threat, the Underminer. Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack also showcase their unique powers in surprising new ways, as shown through dynamic and innovative visual technology. Like the other elements in this spectacular parade, this new float will come to life through a series of dazzling LED lights, new music elements and high-tech, pop-art effects inspired by the mid-century-modern style of the films.
