Take a Tour of Pixar Pier at California Adventure Park

Pixar

The reimagined land of Pixar Pier has so much to explore! From the four themed lands, Incredibles Park, Toy Story Boardwalk, Pixar Promenade, and Inside Out Headquarters, to entertainment and food, Pixar Pier really comes to life! You can also meet Pixar pals as you take a stroll through Pixar Pier!

Disney Parks Blog launched a new video series highlighting the amazing areas around Pixar Pier. Their first stop, the entrance of Pixar Pier. Check out the video below!

YouTube player

As you go under the Pixar Pier sign, you will pass the newly imagined Lamplight Lounge. After that, visit Knick Knack’s, a gift shop filled with ‘knick knack’s from your favorite Pixar films. The newly opened Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff which has more than enough cake pops, candied apples, popcorn and more to satisfy your sweet tooth! And don’t forget Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats. Just past Knick’s Knacks in Disney California Adventure Park, this cool quick-service counter offers frozen soft-serve treats in white chocolate-capped lemon, vanilla, chocolate or swirled to perfection. Perhaps the all-new Pixar Pier Frozen Parfait—a delectable blend of lemon soft-serve and blue raspberry slush—will tempt your taste buds. Thirsty? Add root beer, Sprite or Coca-Cola for a Pixar-licious float! A selection of soft drinks is also available.

While you’re visiting Pixar Pier, don’t miss your chance to ride the new Incredicoaster!

Guests will step right into the world of “The Incredibles” as they discover they’ve been invited to the inaugural launch of the new Incredicoaster. In gratitude for their heroic efforts and incredible deeds, the citizens of Municiberg are dedicating their beloved roller coaster to the Incredibles. Of course, the family of supers are attending – Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Violet, Dash and Jack- Jack – along with Edna Mode (exclusive super suit designer to the Incredibles).

With Edna and Jack-Jack being too short to ride the Incredicoaster, they have to wait for the rest of the Incredibles inside the VIP inauguration lounge. Things go awry, however, when the unpredictable Jack-Jack vanishes from Edna’s not-so-watchful eye. As a polymorph with a wild variety of powers, Jack-Jack creates chaos along the track while his Incredible family sprints into action to save the day.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort Iridescent Cupcakes Are Dazzling!

Contemporary Resort Iridescent Cupcakes

Thanks to our friend, Mary M., we’ve got some new photos of the Disney’s Contemporary Resort Iridescent Cupcakes to share with you.  This iridescent treats craze is currently sweeping both The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort and we are loving it!

Disney's Contemporary Resort Iridescent Cupcakes Are Dazzling!

First is this adorable Minnie Mouse Iridescent Cupcake from Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s Contepo Cafe.  This is a confetti cupcake with a surprise strawberry filling.  On top is a vanilla buttercream frosting and a sparkling Minnie Mouse hat with crispy pearls! And I am loving the blue bow – it’s a bit more unexpected than a pink bow, right?!

Contemporary Resort Iridescent Cupcakes

Also at Contempo Cafe you’ll find the Iridescent Macaron Cupcake! Look at that frosting!  And I always love when they add the crispy pearls.  But that macaron on top is certainly the showstopper of this dessert! Kind of make this treat a 2-for-1!

I have to admit I’m a little more than obsessed with all of the iridescent treats you’ll find throughout The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort this summer.  They are the perfect match to all of the iridescent clothes and ears hitting the parks too!

What do you think of the iridescent craze?  Are you a fan?  Do you miss your Millennial Pink treats? What has been your favorite that you’ve tried so far?!

Jude Law says Brie Larson is ‘Magnificent” in Captain Marvel

Brie Larson

Jude Law recently gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming role in the new Captain Marvel movie. Although EW was trying to get some information about Jude’s alleged character, the superhero Mar-Vell .a.k.a. Walter Lawson, he would rather speak praises of Brie Larson’s performance in the movie. “Yes, it’s been reported I’m playing Mar-Vell,” Law said. “I’m not going to confirm or deny that. It’s been a very interesting experience. Brie Larson has approached it with incredible dedication and devotion. She really turned out a wonderful performance — fun and feisty and smart. I think she’s going to be absolutely magnificent.”

Captain Marvel is set in the 90’s. The film follows Carol Danvers

Set in the ’90s, the movie follows Carol Danvers, played by Annette Bening, “an Air Force pilot who becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when her DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident.” The character was first hinted during a post-credits scene in the blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War.

Previously, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said the character be the strongest Avenger the Marvel universe has seen. “It’s very important to us that all of our heroes do not become silhouette-perfect cutout icons,” he said. “All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.”

Were you wondering where Captain Marvel was in the recent “Avengers” Infinity War”? I’m sure diehard Marvel fans were. She never made an appearance, but the post-credits scenes hinted she may be making an appearance next year in the new Avengers film. Captain Marvel’s standalone film is slated to release in March 2019, two months prior to the (tentative) release of the unnamed fourth Avengers movie.

Captain Marvel recently wrapped filming and will be released March 8, 2019.

Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

Disneyland recently introduced us to Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular which features many of the greatest Pixar films. This incredible evening show includes pyrotechnics, lasers, projections, and, of course, music from the Pixar movies.

While prime seating for Together Forever are located along Main Street, U.S.A., around the Rivers of America and “It’s a Small World”,  there are still many sites throughout the park where you can find a more unique, yet just as beautiful, vantage point.

Joshua Sudock, Disneyland’s Resort Chief Photographer, has captured a few photos showing off a unique viewing area. Beyond the lagoon, over in Tomorrowland, Sudock was able to snap a series of long-exposure photos (15-seconds each). His camera settings were f/16 at ISO 100 and white balance set to automatic.

Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

After looking at these photos, it’s hard to imagine there could be a bad seat “in the house”. The nighttime projections have certainly solidified where the best seats in the house are to view the fireworks, but sometimes it’s nice to take a seat somewhere a little less traveled. You can catch a unique view and even veer a little away from the crowd.

Where is your favorite place to view the nighttime shows? Let us know in the comments below!

How To Draw Edna Mode

Attention future animators (and anyone who likes to think they are one), sharpen your pencils, have a few erasers on hand, and get ready to draw Edna Mode.  Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about the Edna Mode, one of the most beloved Incredibles characters, dah-ling.

At Animation Academy, right inside Disney California Adventure Park, guests can experience a hands-on opportunity where step by step instructions are provided to create your very own character sketch. The Animation Academy welcomes guests of all ages and you even get to take home your “masterpiece” as a souvenir. Drawing classes are inside the Disney Animation Building and run every 30 minutes.

Now it’s time for the fun… let’s see how well you can draw Edna Mode. Sketching out this sassy, fashion icon isn’t as easy at it seems (at least that’s what I keep telling myself).

I admit, my artistry skills do not compare to the animators themselves…
