New 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck Coming To Disney Springs

The award-winning 4R Restaurant Group will launch its newest concept in late August with the opening of its 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck located in the Marketplace at Disney Springs. The eatery will debut a variety of new signature dishes, including a Taco Cone and Burrito Bowl filled with choice of meats such as Brisket Barbacoa or Pork Sofrito.

The 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck will also offer standout vegetarian options like the Squash Blossom Burrito. Additionally, decadent desserts such as Dulce De Leche Churro Balls will be available.

“It’s an honor to open the 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck at Disney Springs in the company of so many talented chefs and award-winning restaurants,” said John Rivers, 4R Restaurant Group Founder and CEO. “Our first-ever daily 4R offering at Disney Springs will provide an opportunity for tourists to savor an authentic local brand. It will also give Floridians who know and love our food an all-new 4R experience and chance to enjoy dishes that are not currently available at any of our 4 Rivers Smokehouses.

Inspired by his recent culinary adventures in Mexico City, Rivers has developed the food truck’s barbacoa-style menu. Dishes will feature signature 4 Rivers meats such as brisket and pulled pork, but prepared using traditional barbacoa techniques – methods with roots in the Caribbean and ultimately perfected in Mexico.

The opening of this Mexican-inspired barbacoa eatery marks the first time a 4R location will be available to guests at Disney Springs. The 4R Cantina Barbacoa menu has been crafted with the same pride and passion that has earned 4 Rivers Smokehouses some of the culinary world’s highest accolades, including recently being named “America’s Best Barbecue Chain” by The Daily Meal.

The 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck at Disney Springs will be the only 4 Rivers location to offer service seven days a week – including Sunday. Following in the philanthropic footprints of the 4R “Barbecue Ministry,” all net proceeds from sales every Sunday will support The 4R Foundation, which in 2017 helped more than 950 local schools, churches and charitable organizations. Tinley Park’s Benches on the Avenue public art program has become one of the Village’s most popular attractions, drawing thousands of residents and visitors annually to Downtown Tinley. The colorful Disney themed benches feature the work of both amateur and professional artists and provide spots to rest and enjoy the fantastic creations while strolling through town.

Benches on the Avenue is an award-winning public art program that features many benches along downtown Oak Park Avenue showcasing the unique and colorful designs of professional and amateur artists from the area.

The artwork is based on a different theme each year, and benches are on display from mid-May through October. Each bench is sponsored by a local business or individual, who takes possession of it after the program has ended.

Who doesn’t love Walt Disney World’s secret menu items? It’s always exciting when new ones are discovered! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café now has a Pork Belly Burger but you have to know where to find it. It won’t be listed on the menu at the location.

This incredible creation is made with 8 ounces of a Pork Belly and Angus Beef blend. It’s topped with Smoked Gouda, Sriracha Aioli and Pork Rinds. It comes served on a Brioche Bun with Fried Pickle Chips on top. The combo also has French Fries, Green Beans or Mashed Potatoes.

So how can you order this new Pork Belly Burger? On Disney’s mobile ordering service found on the My Disney Experience app! Find “Order Food” on your app then choose Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. In their menu, you’ll find the “Mobile Order Secret Menu” that has the Pork Belly Burger.

Once you select the secret menu item, you can build your order and choose your sides.

The mobile ordering app allows guests to order from their phones and pick up their order from the window when it’s ready. No waiting in line required!

ABC Commissary New Menu Options are Mouthwatering!

If you’re looking for a quick and delicious meal while exploring Disney’s Hollywood Studios you’ll want to check out the ABC Commissary new menu options! We are loving the new choices available for lunch and dinner!

On both the lunch and dinner menus you will now find the Mediterranean Salad with Chicken or the Vegan Burger. The salad comes with grilled chicken breast on a bed of fresh mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini, kalamata olives, and feta cheese tossed in a Mediterranean vinaigrette and served with hummus and flatbread. My mom is already eyeing that new salad for our trip later this fall!

If you’re looking for something vegan, the Vegan Burger is perfect for you! This burger comes topped with lettuce, tomato, sautéed peppers and onions in a balsamic glaze, vegan mayonnaise ketchup, and sriracha mustard and served on a brioche bun with french fries.

And available on the dinner menu only you’ll find the Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl and the Southwest BBQ Burger! The Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl is served with stir-fried Napa cabbage, snap peas, red peppers, carrots, onions, edamame, shitake mushrooms, and broccoli. It comes tossed in a house-made teriyaki sauce over brown rice)

If you’re in the mood for a burger, try the Southwest BBQ Burger with a flame-broiled 1/3 lb angus burger topped with sweet BBQ pulled pork, bacon, bread and butter pickles, and cheddar cheese finished with garlic aïoli and crisp onion rings between Texas toast and served with signature southwestern steak fries dusted in chili-lime seasoning!

And don’t forget dessert! You can get the newChocolate Banana Cream Almond Crisp or a Toy Story Land Cupcake (which can also be found at The Trolley Car Café). In celebration of Toy Story Land opening you’ll want to try this chocolate cupcake is topped with vanilla buttercream and a white chocolate piece!

NFL Pro Bowl Activities Will Return to Orlando, Walt Disney World

The NFL Pro Bowl is set to return to Orlando in 2019! That means the popular activities that take place the week leading up to the NFL Pro Bowl will also be taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World!

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is happy to welcome back all-stars from the AFC and NFC. Practices for both teams will be held at the Complex in addition to other exciting events. Guests in attendance can expect to see exciting football exhibitions between youth clubs to high school teams, and popular NFL players. It’s a great way to get up-close-and-personal with your favorite NFL athletes.

NFL Pro Bowl Week is just one of several football events held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the year. Thousands of Pop Warner Football Players descend on Walt Disney World and the Complex annually in December for the Pop Warner Super Bowl. It’s also not uncommon to see your favorite athletes training at the Complex during the Tom Shaw Performance Camp.

The NFL Pro Bowl will be held on Sunday, January 27. Events at ESPN Wide World of Sports will take place the weekend before. A schedule of events will be released at a later date.

Jalapeno Poppers and Cauliflower at Golden Oak Outpost

Jalapeno Poppers and Cauliflower have popped up on the menu at Golden Oak Outpost in Magic Kingdom.

While adventurer’s travel from Adventureland into Frontierland, they will come across the Golden Oak Outpost which is a stand-alone kiosk serving up a modest menu of deep-fried goodness. Amidst the chicken nuggets and waffle fries, the new Jalapeno Poppers and Cauliflower have made their debut.

The Jalapeno Poppers come breaded and stuffed with nacho cheese. The poppers are served up with a side of G.O.O. sauce all for a single price of $5.49.

The Cauliflower is fried in a spicy batter and served with a creamy garlic ranch sauce. This snack will set guests back $4.99.

Of course, the Waffle Fries are still holding strong on the menu. Grab them with a side of Queso or go all out with an order of Chili Queso Fries. And for dessert, you can savor a warm chocolate chip cookie.
