First Look at Disney’s Pixar Pier Changes

California Adventure’s Paradise Pier will soon be converted to Pixar Pier and we cannot be more excited! Today, we are getting our first look at some of the changes that will be made when Pixar Pier officially opens on June 23 of this year!

One of the many changes will be to King Triton’s Carousel. The Carousel will be re-themed as Jessie’s Critter Carousel. Jessie’s Critter Carousel will bridge the Toy Story neighborhood of Pixar Pier with Toy Story Mania. Unfortunately, Jessie’s Critter Carousel will open than later than Pixar Pier’s opening date of June 23.

It’s not Disney without turkey legs! And, Pixar Pier will be no exception. Guests visiting Pixar Pier can purchase their beloved turkey legs at the new Poultry Place, formerly Don Tomas Turkey Legs.

Another popular Disney treat is the churro. Guests of Pixar Pier will be able to purchase the sweet snack at Senor Buzz Lightyear.

One of the major changes coming to Pixar Pier will be the re-branding of California Screamin’. When Pizar Pier debuts, California Screamin’ will be The Incredicaoster based on the “The Incredibles.” Guests can expect to find new storytelling from the popular movie on the ride.

Looking for some gaming excitement? Look no further than Games of the Boardwalk which will feature three new Pixar-themed games. The games will be:

Hemlich Candy Corn Toss which was previously Casey at Bat
Wall-E Space Spin which was previously Dumbo’s Bucket Brigade
La Luna Star Catcher which was previously Goofy About Fishing

A new candy store will also debut at Pixar Pier in the “Inside Out” neighborhood. Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff is based Bing Bong from “Inside Out.”

Also in the “Inside Out” neighborhood will be the new Angry Dogs Hot Dog Stand.

The current Nick Nack’s is being rebranded as Treasures in Paradise.

Guests will still be able to enjoy some delicious ice cream under the California Sun. The former Paradise Pier Ice Cream Company will make its Pixar Pier debut as Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats. And, have no fear! The popular lemon-flavored items will remain on the menu. n

Spaceship Earth Siemens Signs Removed

The Siemens signs at Spaceship Earth have been removed.

Last summer it was announced that Siemens would be ending their 12-year partnership with Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. The official end of that partnership came October 10, 2017.

And now the signage evidence of that relationship has been removed. New signage, without a mention of Siemens, is up at Spaceship Earth at Epcot.

From 2005 to 2017 Siemens was the title sponsor of Spaceship Earth and Illuminations, both at Epcot and it’s a small world at the Disneyland Park. At this time, a new sponsor for these attractions has yet to be named.

Sonny Eclipse Dessert And New Menus Debut At Cosmic Ray’s In The Magic Kingdom

Our favorite singing alien now has his own signature dessert at Cosmic Ray’s called the Sonny Eclipse Dessert! We brought you the news last week that Cosmic Ray’s had undergone a menu change, separating out their lunch and dinner offerings. Old favorites have been removed like the Falafel Burger, Barbecued Pork Sandwich, and Triple Chocolate Cake. But we do see new items have been added in like the BBQ Pulled Pork Platter at Lunch, Barbecue Ribs at Dinner and the new Sonny Eclipse Dessert.

The Sonny Eclipse Dessert is made of cookies and cream similar to an Oreo cheesecake topped with chocolate drizzle, “Galaxy” sprinkles, and an edible white chocolate picture of Sonny Eclipse. It should be no surprise to anyone that these desserts are not made fresh to order but have been previously frozen and then semi-thawed before being served. I would suggest giving yours some extra time to thaw in order to enjoy it more.

One other interesting thing to note is that Bay 2 at Cosmic Ray’s is now exclusively handling Mobile Order Pickups. This is great to know when you are wanting to save some extra time and avoid the lines!

If you are looking to attend Easter services on April 1st, the Contemporary Resort will be holding them in the Fantasia Ballroom. Catholic Masses will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Protestant service will be held at 9:15 a.m.

Guests staying at a monorail resort can take the Resort Monorail over, otherwise, take the Complimentary Resort Transportation to Magic Kingdom Park and transfer to a Resort Monorail from there or walk over (about a 10-minute walk).

This limited time hot dog is topped with a relish of Kalamata olives, banana peppers, red onions, feta cheese, and drizzled with tzatziki sauce served with french fries or apple slices. The cost for the Greek Dog is $10.99 or you can step it up to the Foot Long version for $12.49.

The Citrus Swirl is Out and the Orange Swirl is In at Sunshine Tree Terrace

Disney Twitter has been all abuzz over the weekend about the changes to the Citrus Swirl at Sunshine Tree Terrace in the Magic Kingdom. We wanted to get the scoop on the changes to the popular Disney snack so we sent our reporter, Lisette, to try one out!

As you can already tell, the snack has been renamed the Orange Swirl. The name is not the only change though. Lisette reported that it also tasted a bit different. She said the old Citrus Swirl was more tart and the new Orange Swirl is sweeter and compared it to a Creamsicle.

After talking to a Cast Member, Lisette has informed the reason for the change in the name and recipe was due to a new Orange Swirl mix being introduced. Also, the new mix makes the Citrus Swirl a vegan-friendly option.

The price for the Orange Swirl and the Orange Swirl Float is the same as the Citrus Swirl. The Orange Swirl is $5.29 plus tax. The Orange Swirl Float is $5.29 plus tax. Both are available as snack credits with a Dining Plan.

'Meet Aulani's 'Ohana,' Noa

Now we can ‘Meet Aulani’s ‘Ohana,’ Noa! In the latest episode of “Meet Aulani’s ‘Ohana” we get to meet Noa, a local storyteller who is part of the KA WA‘A Luʻau.

While no visit to Hawaii is complete without a lu’au experience, the KA WA‘A Luʻau at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is a must-do experience. Through music & dance, family activities and a lu’au feast, this enchanting journey shares the deep cultural roots in canoe (or waʻa) exploration.

During the lu’au, Noa takes guests on a trip through time to when voyagers from Tahiti arrived to settle in Hawai‘i, farming and fishing practices, plantation days and celebration of family traditions. While staying true to Hawaiian roots, guests are immersed in the world around them through tales of O’ahu and legends of Maui, a demigod. The story is brought to life through music and traditional Hawaiian dance, including hula kahiko and modern hula ‘auana.

KA WA‘A Luʻau is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (subject to change, based on season) at the Halawai Lawn at Aulani. Reservations are required.

Black Panther Hits $1 Billion at the Global Box Office

Less than 30 days since it’s release, Black Panther hits $1 Billion at the global box office. This is the 33rd film to hit the $1 Billion mark and the 16th film of Disney’s to reach the milestone.

Domestically, Black Panther has grossed $521 million which makes it the 9th highest release of all time beating out fan favorites such as The Dark Knight and Rogue One. In addition, it is now the 2nd biggest comic book superhero film of all time, second only to The Avengers.

And now we wait to see if Black Panther will beat out The Avengers in sales, making it officially the biggest comic book movie ever in North America.

As we anxiously await the development of Disney California Adventure’s highly anticipated Pixar Pier, take a look at this video of the construction update.

The Pier will feature a brand-new look and neighborhoods featuring and inspired by many of the characters from your favorite Pixar films including “The Incredibles” “Toy Story” and “Inside Out”.

Pixar Pier is expected to be completed in 2018 and to ring in the transformation, Disneyland will be throwing a special Pixar Fest! event. During this time guests will be able to experience even more Pixar magic as the entire Disneyland Resort area will come alive with your favorite Pixar Stories.
