Plaza Restaurant Banana Split Milkshake

For me, a trip to Walt Disney World Resort just isn’t complete without at least one milkshake.  And there are plenty of milkshakes to choose from like the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake at 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios or and All-You-Care-To-Enjoy milkshake at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.  Or try another amazing milkshake The Plaza Restaurant Banana Split Milkshake!

This tasty shakes is this month’s All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Milkshake and is made with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce, banana and topped with whipped cream, and a cherry.  You can get one for $9 plus tax! It’s perfect after a morning of racing down mountains, fighting Zurg or flying with Peter!

The Plaza Restaurant is also a great place to sit and grab a quick bite to eat. This family friendly eatery can be found on Main Street U.S.A. very close to the hub. Try the Baked Honey-Barbecued Brisket Mac & Cheese which is baked pasta in cheddar cheese sauce sprinkled with golden brown bread crumbs, fried-crispy onions, and scallions topped with a savory barbecued beef brisket or the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich which tops a deep-fried green tomato with bacon, tomato, pepper jack cheese and arugula, adds some Alabama white barbecue sauce and comes on a toasted Kaiser roll!

And if a milkshake isn’t your thing there are plenty of other desserts to chose from – like a Brownie Sundae or Apple Pie a la mode!

No matter what, The Plaza Restaurant is a perfect stop for lunch or dinner as you explore Magic Kingdom park during your trip to The Walt Disney World Resort!

Yet Another Update to Toy Story Mania Queue at Hollywood Studios

I’m here to share yet another update in the ongoing saga of Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. As we have been reporting, the queue for Toy Story Mania has been undergoing a refurbishment so that it will be accessible from the soon-to-be-open Toy Story Land. During the refurbishment, tracks of the ride have been shut down which also caused FastPasses not to be available for several days.

I am happy to report that all tracks of the ride are currently open and FastPasses are once again available for Toy Story Mania. However, both standby and FastPasses riders are currently using the same entrance with just two separate lines. The standby line runs down to where Cruz Ramirez is located.

It’s also important to note that Toy Story Mania will be completely closed from June 11 to June 18 while the finishing touches are made to the new Toy Story Land entrance of the ride. The ride is scheduled to reopen on June 19 but we are unsure where Guests will be accessing on the ride on that date since Toy Story Land’s official opening is not until June 30.

Shanghai Disney Resort Honored in recognition of outstanding educational environment. Shanghai Resort today was recognized as the first Eco-China Experience-based Education Destination by the China Next Generation Foundation.

Shanghai Disney Resort Honored as the First Eco-China Experience-based Education Destination

Shanghai Disney Resort Honored by being recognized for its environmental conservation efforts as well as its immersive educational environment, which combines Disney creativity and technology with traditional Chinese culture. The recognition also serves to highlight the resort’s long-term commitment to nurturing and inspiring the creativity and imagination of younger generations. The award aims to leverage the rich creative and environmental resources of Shanghai Disney Resort and organize cross-cultural, diverse and engaging educational activities for students and their families. Shanghai Disney Resort and the China Next Generation Foundation will also collaboratively plan and implement the Eco-China Experiential Themed Camp to create enriching experiences for students and young children.

The “Eco-China Experience-based Education Destination” award is designed to increase national efforts towards the development of ecological and environmental protection awareness among the younger generation. A ceremony was hosted at Shanghai Disneyland today with over 100 guests, including leaders from Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, China Caring for Next Generation Commission and education authorities from Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu and Shanghai Disney Resort, as well as teacher and student representatives from Shanghai. Mickey and Minnie were also present to celebrate this special occasion.

“Disney has a long history of environmental protection and helping to cultivate conservation values in younger generations,” said Murray King, vice president of Public Affairs at Shanghai Disney Resort. “We are honored to have been selected as the first experience-based education destination in the country, and hope to leverage our resort’s unique environment, diverse offerings, and legendary Disney storytelling to help enrich the lives of students and children for generations to come.”

Today’s ceremony also kicked off the first Eco-China Experiential Themed Camp, where the first explorers will learn about the science and cultural elements utilized throughout Shanghai Disneyland while discovering the park’s thrilling attractions and enchanting entertainment.

“We believe that Shanghai Disney Resort’s impressive combination of Chinese culture and authentic Disney storytelling will help provide young students with opportunities to develop and explore new ways of thinking,” said Gu Xiulian, Founding Chair of China Next Generation Education Foundation. “By working with Shanghai Disney Resort, we believe that the Eco-China Experience-based Education Destination will become an important way to broaden our children’s educational horizons.”

Since Shanghai Disney Resort first broke ground, a number of nature conservation programs and VoluntEARS activities have been held, including Earth Month celebrations, a Wishing Star Park Nature Book, Bird Monitoring programs and Adopt-A-Garden programs. The establishment of the Eco-China Experience-based Education Destination will enhance the resort’s commitment and dedication to environmental conservation as well as help to provide an immersive educational experience to more guests from Shanghai and across China.

Available now on the App Store® and Google Play™, Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is the first title released since the it was announced earlier this year that Disney is collaborating with leading mobile game developers.

In Disney Heroes: Battle Mode players are invited on a heroic quest where they’ll collect and battle fan-favorite characters from Disney•Pixar films including The Incredibles and Toy Story and beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph and Zootopia as well as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean and more in exciting 5v5 match-ups across a corrupted digital city under attack from a deadly virus. Incredibles 2 Sneak Peek At Walt Disney Presents Going On Now

Incredibles 2 is set to hit theaters June 15th but you don’t have to wait until then for Pixar action. Walt Disney Presents at Hollywood Studios is showing a sneak peek of the highly anticipated film. Going on now through June 22nd, catch a 10 minute preview of clips including all of your favorite Incredibles.

The new movie featuring the amazing Incredibles family has a new story line. Incredibles mom Helen must go on a mission to bring the Supers back while Bob handles being Mr. Mom. All of your favorites including , Frozone, Edna Mode, Dash, Violet and Jack Jack join together when the mission is met with a new villain.

Be sure to catch Incredibles 2 in theaters beginning June 15th!

Disney World’s Electric Water Pageant Time Changes

Electric Water Pageant

If you are planning on enjoying the Electric Water Pageant sometime soon please be aware that there is a time change.

Beginning May 20th and running through August 18th, the Electric Water Pageant will temporarily run at a different time. Due to the time change for the Happily Ever After fireworks show, at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, the Electric Water Pageant’s showtime was required to change.

The summer hours are now as follows:

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort  – 8:40 PM

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – 8:55 PM

After August 18th the Electric Water Pageant will return to its normal hours.

Groupon Available For Beauty And The Beast In Concert At The Hollywood Bowl

A Groupon is now available for Beauty and the Beast in concert coming to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on May 25th and 26th. Disney recently announced the new show and it comes as no surprise following 2017’s success of The Little Mermaid in concert at the same location.

The cast for Beauty and the Beast is quite spectacular. Zooey Deschanel will take on the role of Belle, Taye Diggs as Gaston, Rebel Wilson as Lefou, Kelsey Grammar as Lumiere, Jane Krakowski as Mrs. Potts and Anthony Evans will play the beast.

The full orchestra and choir will performing the film’s beloved music will be lead by conductor Michael Kosarin, who composed the original music for the live action version of the classic movie. He also composed the score for Enchanted and Tangled.

The two evenings will also include a fun costume contests, unique photo opportunities and other surprises, so grab your Groupon while they last!
