Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Character Meet and Greets

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party character “Meet and Greets” are my favorite time at Magic Kingdom. I love to see the traditional Disney pals dressed up in their Christmas best. They are bright and colorful. Each costume uniquely designed. It’s even a bigger treat to see the rare characters out and about meeting guests. The lines can get a little crazy but I think it’s worth it to meet Sandy Claws and Sally!

Donald and Uncle Scrooge even put aside their differences to have some fun together for the evening. Nice job boys!

As always, Minnie and Daisy kept it classy and were picture perfect in every pose.

Sally and her beau Sandy Claws were my favorite photo opp of the night! I loved how cute they posed for the camera. The line was insane, but worth it for a pic of these two lovebirds.

Santa Goofy was working on his best serious pose for me before he got silly with some sick dance moves.

Mary and Burt were practically perfect in every way.

Snow White and Prince Charming had an incredible line and were posing for photos near Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip.

Alladin and Abu were showing some love as well while fans walked by.

It may be beginning to LOOK a lot like Christmas in the Magic Kingdom but it certainly doesn’t FEEL a lot like Christmas. So what do you do when you want to be festive but temperatures are still in the high 70’s? Peppermint Swirl soft serve of course! This delightful frozen treat is available all season long at Storybook Treats.

Vanilla soft serve and peppermint soft serve come together to create a delightful flavor that is both subtle and refreshing. We think they coalesce to create a new taste that is both classically Disney and classically Christmas. However, if you are a fan of peppermint, this one may leave you being a bit underwhelmed. The peppermint flavor does find itself being subdued by the vanilla soft serve quite a bit so it lacks that ‘in your face’ minty goodness that is typically associated with the Holidays.

Frozen Sing-Along Celebration adds Special Holiday Finale

Frozen Sing-Along Celebration has added a special holiday finale, with a special appearance by Olaf himself. The story of Anna and Elsa is retold in a animated and humorous way by two of Arendelle’s Royal Historians. Olaf, who in the non holiday version of the show is often spoken of, is never seen on stage. Imagine the gasps of delight, as Olaf himself comes onto the stage to lead the crew into a heartwarming holiday sing along. Everyone favorite reindeer herder, Kristoff, also makes a appearance.

Elsa puts on quite a display, showering the audience in a flurry of snow, and decorating the trees with her icy powers. Try to not sing along. Try as they might to fight it , even dads have to ” Let it go” . The show is never really quite the same each time, as the Royal Historians keep it fresh and exciting with their hilarious off the cuff one liners. This is definitely a show for kids of all ages and one you will want to revisit again and again.

This show can be in seen at Hollywood Studio’s Hyperion Theater, but only for a limited time. The show runs November 6 through January 6 .

What better way to celebrate the holidays than to have a warm cinnamon roll. Cinnamon rolls just ooze holiday spirit to me no matter when I eat them. Walt Disney World has taken the cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s Tavern to a whole new level for the holidays by adding extra icing.

Maleficent is Coming Back to The Festival of Fantasy Parade

Maleficent is Coming Back to The Festival of Fantasy Parade! Our girl has finally made her way back to Magic Kingdom after having a little work done and possibly some rehab. We have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Maleficent Steam Punk dragon to return to the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom.

I personally love her and I am very happy she has returned! It is almost enough to make me book a trip back down to WDW! Earlier this year Mal had a bad day and got a little steamed… Who could say why? Maybe a dancer got in her way. Maybe the music was too loud and taking away from her impressive display. Maybe one of those annoying bloggers was taking too many shots of her and she just wasn’t having it. Whatever the reason, she got worked up and blew her top. None of that matters now because she is back! We aren’t sure if she will still be in all of her fire-breathing glory, but we are hopeful. You can see the video below of the original incident.

A classic Magic Kingdom treat has gotten a makeover for the Holidays! Over at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square, the waffle sundae is dressed up for Christmas, sporting festive sprinkles. The biggest change though is the waffle itself. The traditional waffle has been transformed. What’s better than plain waffles? Red Velvet waffles of course! Topped with a mountain of whipped cream this deliciously festive treat is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Zero As if this sundae couldn’t get any better, it is also adorned with everyone’s favorite ghost dog- Zero. This should put an end to the age-old question: Is Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? The answer is clearly both!

2018 Jingle BAM! Park Maps Released At Hollywood Studios

Any avid holiday visitor to Walt Disney World is entirely familiar with all the Christmas fun at the Magic Kingdom. However, unlike other holidays in Disney parks, the decor and festivity aren’t just found at Cinderella’s Castle. Christmas trees abound through Disney Springs, resorts deck the halls, and holiday merchandise can be found at all stores around property. Hollywood Studios is no different. Through November 6th to January 6th of 2019, the park will hold its always awesome Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam celebration. And to get the festivities rolling, new park maps for the event were recently released…so…finish that eggnog and let’s take a look!

What’s New

So, what’s new this year? In a “flurry of fun” Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam is bringing with it light spectaculars, lasers, and sweet treats accompanied by some of your favorite characters. For starters, enjoy an enhanced Sunset Season Greeting at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The staple park location transforms into a colorful holiday overlay with projections complete with laser effect and snow! I don’t know about you, but snow in Orlando is enough to get me excited! Need help finding times and locations…the new map has you covered! Of course, there is Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! As noted on the new map, the experience is complete with familiar tunes, fireworks, and some of your favorite holiday scenes featuring Pluto, Mickey, and Jack Skellington. In addition, there are several enhanced options pointed out on this year’s map. The Christmas Tree at Echo Lake has been upgraded a bit for that perfect photo op. So if you’ve been struggling to get those Instagram likes up, this is the spot for you!

So what else is new according to the map? Toy Story Land, of course! Check it out as all of your favorite characters don their jovial apparel! Not only are Buzz and Woody rocking awesome Christmas gear, but Andy’s backyard is also spruced up with a bit of holiday cheer to match! This is a great addition to some of the more familiar map information such as Santa and the For the First Time in Forever sing along.

Treats and Sweaters!

Of course, no holiday map at Disney parks would be complete without directing you towards the one thing we all love about Walt Disney World…FOOD! Get those delectable holiday treats that can only be found around this time of year at several locations…all pinpointed to make finding their location a Christmas miracle! The same can be said for merchandise as well! Need to know where to pick up that 2018 Christmas ornament or ugly Christmas sweater while getting merry at Hollywood Studios? This map has the answers!
