DuckTales Destination Adventure

Get ready to solve a mystery, the newest Ducktales adventure is now available on DVD. DuckTales Destination Adventure takes us to an ancient tomb, the peak of a mountain, and even a vacation island for Greek gods! We were very excited to have the opportunity to review this DVD, especially since we missed a couple of episodes this season.

Ducktales was one of my all time favorites as a kid, so I love being able to share a new version with my family as an adult. It was a rainy day so we were happy to pop in our new DVD and go on an adventure with our favorite Ducks. There is even a preview for The Incredibles 2 at the start, so that was a nice bonus!

The DVD comes with eight episodes, including 2 bonus Classic Episodes for the first time on DVD. The “Beagle Birthday Birthday Maacre!” is an episode that stars Webby, and ends up giving us a thrilling sneak peek into the ongoing story line. David Tennant does an impeccable job at capturing the essence of Uncle Scrooge too.

Our family truly enjoyed this adventure with our favorite Duck family. It was wonderful to not only watch the new episodes, but to also take a ride back in time with two classic episodes from the original series. OpenTable May No Longer Be Reserving Select Disney Dining Locations

Back in December, we learned that select Disney dining locations were added to OpenTable for booking. OpenTable is a great way to find dining reservations for locations all over the world, so it was exciting that Disney locations were added. For my upcoming trip, I decided to hop on the OpenTable site to reserve one of our favorite Disney restaurants, Sanaa (the bread service alone is amazing), only to find no times available.

Out of curiosity, I decided to check the Disney website, just to be sure there wasn’t availability. There were a few times open.

Could this mean that OpenTable is going to stop reserving Walt Disney World Resort dining locations? There was still availability at other locations for the same dates and times.

There was even availability at a few resort dining locations as well.

One theory is that the reservations are not being secured with a credit card hold. These holds are required when booking dining reservations on the Disney website. This is Disney’s security policy for ensuring that people do not over book and then fail to show up for a dining reservation. If you reserve Disney dining and fail to cancel within 24 hours prior to the reservation time, you are charged $10 per person to the holding card, which helps everyone get the dining reservations they are actually going to use. With OpenTable, this hold does not happen. So anyone can reserve dining at Disney and fail to show or cancel if they so choose. It creates empty tables and less profit for the dining locations.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel Kitchens Closed on Sunday, June 10

Disneyland Resort in California guests should be aware that all kitchens in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (located right next to Disney California Adventure) will be closed on Sunday, June 10 from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For this reason, Storytellers Café will be closed for brunch and lunch and will reopen at 4:30 p.m. for dinner buffet and a la carte menu.

Freeform’s all-new series “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” stars Olivia Holt (Tandy Bowen or Dagger) and Aubrey Joseph (Tyrone Johnson or Cloak) took some time to visit Pixar Fest at Disneyland recently. While this was Aubrey Johnson’s first visit to the happiest place on earth, he had a Disney Parks super fan in Olivia Holt to show him the ropes!

Their first stop of the day was at Disneyland Park where they had a space ranger face off with Zurg on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster found in Tomorrowland.

They then stopped at Sleeping Beauty Castle to enjoy these amazingly delicious Green Alien macaroons, a new offering to celebrate Toy Story! Olivia also couldn’t resist the Green Alien headband.

Incredibles 2 Set To Become Biggest Animated Movie Ever

The Incredibles 2 is on track to become the biggest animated film ever made, according to Fandago. 14 years after the original release of The Incredibles everyone’s favorite superheros, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack Jack return with an all new mission. Mr. Incredible must deal with the day to day domestic challenges of raising a family while Elastigirl sets off to restore the superhero image.

The previous record holder for the biggest animated film is Finding Dory (2013), another sequel made many years after the original, Finding Nemo. Finding Dory became the highest grossing animated film with $486 million in domestic sales. Other films that held the top spot for a while were The Lion King in 1994 with $422 million and Toy Story 3 in 2010 with $415 million.

“Fans have been waiting over a decade to see the return of Pixar’s most beloved heroic family, and those years of anticipation are leading to record-breaking advance ticket sales for Incredibles 2,” managing editor of Fandago, Erik Davis, said. “The film is already receiving terrific early buzz, and with summer vacation in full swing for many kids, Incredibles 2 is poised to become one of season’s biggest hits.”

The Incredibles 2 hits theaters June 15th!

Annual Passholder's Bring-A-Friend Discount Is Now Available!

The Bring-A-Friend discount for Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premiere Walt Disney World Annual Passholders is now available! Through June 29th, passholders can bring a friend with them to the parks and purchase a one day Magic Your Way park hopper ticket for just $79 plus tax! These tickets usually range from $109 to $129 for Magic Kingdom and $102 to $122 for Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios for adults ages 10 and up.

These tickets are only available at a theme park ticket window and must be used on the day they are purchased. Annual Passholders may purchase up to 6. The AP must be present at the time of purchase and have their valid Walt Disney World Resort annual pass card and photo ID.

Annual pass prices start at $849 for the Platinum Pass and $949 for the Platinum Plus Pass. Annual Passholders can take advantage of year round admission to all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks, complimentary Magic Bands, exclusive passholder communications, unlimited Disney Photopass downloads, parking at Walt Disney World theme parks, special discounts and limited time offers for resort stays, dining, merchandise and more.

Annual Passholders Will Have Access to Exclusive Toy Story Land Event This September

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders have been patiently waiting for an exclusive preview of Toy Story Land to be announced. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that will happen due to time constraints in getting the land finished in time for it’s June 30 opening. However, Disney has just announced an exclusive event that will be held on select days in September.

The event invites Annual Passholders exclusive access to all three Toy Story Land rides including the two newest – Slinky Dog Coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers. Tasty vittles will also be available for purchase from Woody’s Lunch Box.

Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premier Passholders are eligible to attend this event. Advanced Registration for this event will be required. Passholders should be on the lookout for an email with additional registration details. If the Passholder would like to bring a guest, the guest must also have a Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, or Premier annual pass. A guest can also be listed on your My Disney Experience’s Friends and Family list and have opted to share “All My Plans.”

September dates have not yet been announce for this event but keep it with us here at Chip & Co for when they are!

Disney Casts Mulan’s Love Interest for the Upcoming Live Action Movie

Disney casts Mulan's love interest

Disney casts Mulan’s love interest. Yoson An has been cast in the role of Chen Honghui in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Mulan. And yes, you read that right, Mulan’s love interest is Chen Honghui, not Li Shang, the Chinese army captain who was Mulan’s love interested in the animated version of the story.

Chen Honghui, is a confident and ambitious recruit who joins Commander Tung’s unit. He  goes on to become Mulan’s most important ally and her eventual love interest.

An is joining a star-studded cast that includes Jet Li, who is playing the emperor of China, and Gong Li, who is playing the story’s main villain, a powerful witch. Signed on to play Mulan’s mentor, Commander Tung is Donnie Yen.  And of course the titular character herself is being played by Liu Yifei.

From New Zealand, An is a rising star in the industry and this could certainly prove to be a breakout role for him.

Niki Caro is directing Disney’s live-action Mulan, which is set to be released on March 27, 2020.  The film will begin shooting on location in China and New Zealand in August of this year. Originally the film was set to hit theaters this year but was pushed back by two years.

Last year it was reported that this will not be a musical, like the Disney animated version was.

Chris Bender, Jason Reed and Jake Weiner are producing the film.

I don’t know about you, but the more casting new that is released for this film, the more excited I get! I am anxiously awaiting photos from the set when this movie begins filming at the end of the summer!

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando event complete information and guide is here!  If you like to be scared this is the event for you.  Universal is known for some of the most intense Halloween events and haunted nights in the country.  The event is in its 28th year terrifying fans into the fetal position over and over. on select nights from September 14 through November 3, 2018, the streets of the Universal Studios Florida theme park come alive with hordes of horrifying mutants, monsters, and maniacs. All throughout the night, you’ll be completely immersed in the worlds of the biggest names in horror.  Halloween Horror Nights is a ten-time winner of Amusement Today’s “Best Halloween Event” Golden Ticket award!

Halloween Horror Nights 2018 will consist of a whopping 34 nights, from Friday, September 14 through Saturday, November 3 (that makes it tied for the longest run in its history). Here’s the full breakdown of the dates:

Sept. 14-16, 20-23, 28-30
Oct. 3-7, 10-14, 17-21, 24-28, 31
Nov. 1-3

Universal has given us the details and we are sharing them with you: “This year’s event will be the most intense yet, bringing some of the most terrifying names in horror – both from the past and the present – to life in nine all-new haunted houses and five sinister scare zones throughout the park. Guests brave enough to enter the event will encounter everything from iconic horror films to cult classics to terrifying hit TV shows to disturbing original stories that only the twisted minds of Universal’s award-winning Entertainment team could imagine. And when they need a break from the screams, guests can enjoy Universal Studios’s exciting rides and attractions.”

Bourbon, Coffee and Chocolate – where do I sign up?!?  Head over to Disney Springs to the Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Coffee Old Fashioned and you’ll find all three in one delicious beverage.  This 1940s airplane hangar turned dive bar is the place to go to quench your thirst during the day or late night!

The Ganachry Coffee Old Fashioned takes Woodfort Reserve Bourbon, Kahlua coffee Liqueur, Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, Vanilla Syrup, Aromatic Bitters and serves it with a coffee ganache square.
