The Walt Disney World Resort announced the new Disney Skyliner almost a year ago and we are so excited for it to be completed! Construction has been steady at each of the sites that the new Skyliner will serve select Disney resorts, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. A completion date has not yet been announced. We can confirm progress is being made over at Epcot’s International Gateway, the entrance from Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Beach Club and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn to the World Showcase.

Disney has always been very meticulous in hiding construction or ‘unsightly messes’ from it’s guests as a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is supposed to magical, at every turn. So the walls come up to keep to magic alive. It can’t cover everything though.

As you can see, the turnstiles that will hold the gondolas are standing with construction in the background.

The Disney Skyliner is set to become a very popular transportation method. Guests are already trying to plan their vacations around the Skyliner opening so they can be among the first to take advantage.

Amorette’s also has a Coffee Time Petit Cake with chocolate cake, dark chocolate mousse, and coffee buttercream and the Amorette’s Petit Cake, with eleven layers of red velvet cake, chocolate cake, cherry mousse, chocolate mousse, raspberry pate de fruit jelly, and Italian buttercream. All of these decadent Petit Cakes are priced at $16 and can be enjoyed at one of the tables or taken to go.

New Wall Alert! The Rose Gold Wall at Mission Space is Out of This World!

New wall alert! There is a NEW rose gold wall at the entrance of Mission Space and it’s bringing a whole new level to the Walt Disney World selfie game!  Already trending on Instagram #rosegoldwall may surpass the purple wall from the Magic Kingdom(located by the Tomorrowland Terrace) as the new selfie meet up location in the Walt Disney World Resorts.   Shout out to dolewhipmama for giving me this photo of her in front of the new wall backdrop!  Isn’t the wall the perfect place to bring those rose gold ears or even the millennial pink ears would look adorable here as well!

Calling all LEGO Masters!  Thanks to LEGO Ideas, fans can now create and submit their own lego creations and maybe have them actually turned into sets by LEGO! And have you seen the Disney inspired LEGO Ideas creations?!  Oh my goodness – how do you choose a favorite!

So what is LEGO Ideas?  Here’s the gist:

  1. Share your ideas for new LEGO sets!  Create an awesome model, take great photos, and write a convincing project description, and people won’t be able to help but support you. Not so fast, though! Before you put two bricks together, check out the Project Guidelines and House Rules to see the types of ideas we allow.
  2. Gather Support—10,000 supporters qualifies your project for review!  Tell everyone you know (and even those you don’t know) to support your project. 10,000 is a big number, but it’s doable if you have a great project and some old-fashioned persistence. The best results come from knowing how to ask for support from the right fan sites, blogs, and online communities.
  3. LEGO Review—the LEGO Review Board chooses which projects become new LEGO sets!  After reaching 10k, your project enters a special phase called the LEGO Review. A review board of set designers and marketing representatives evaluates projects according to our review criteria and hand-picks projects to become new LEGO Ideas sets. We can’t make everything, but every project in review gets a fair shot.
  4. New LEGO Product—our team transforms your design into an actual LEGO product sold around the world!  Projects selected in the LEGO Review go into production. You give input to our professional LEGO designers, whose job it is to create the final set based on your project. Once complete, it goes to the factory, then it’s shipped around the world and released for sale. You’re featured in set materials, receive a royalty on sales, and are recognized as the product creator. Your supporters can now own the LEGO set they helped make happen on LEGO Ideas.

Epcot Has Preschool-Friendly Fun

Epcot has preschool-friendly fun for your little ones! Epcot has been my favorite park at the Walt Disney World Resort since my first visit in the early 90’s! And it’s a favorite of both of my kiddos, who are now 5 and 2.  On our last trip my then 15 month old could not get enough of Epcot!  And I’m pretty sure the Cast Members working at Journey into Imagination and The Seas with Nemo and Friends knew us by name!

Epcot can be throughly entertaining for little ones with tons of appropriate attractions and fun activities. From meet and greets with Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus and Frozen Ever After fun, to interactions with fave characters from “Finding Nemo” at The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush, there are lots to keep little ones happy.

Like I said, Epcot is a favorite for our family.  My oldest was 100% entertained and totally into Kidcot Fun Stops on our last visit!  It’s the perfect way to get the littles excited for a trip around World Showcase. See the Cast Member at any Kidcot Fun Stop to get a complimentary cardboard Duffy the Disney Bear, Mickey’s teddy bear! Kids can to decorate and personalize with the supplies provided at each station. Your friendly Cast Member will share insights about his or her native land and give your child a stamp of Duffy in each country. Visit each Kidcot Fun Stop in every international pavilion to collect them all!

Who’s ready for more Groot-inspired treats?!  The Fife & Drum I Am Float is a nod to our favorite Guardians of the Galaxy character! And thanks to our friend, Mary M., we’ve got photos to share with you!

The I Am Float Root Beer takes Barqs’ Root Beers and adds to it vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and mint leaves! It’s a tasty and refreshing treat as you explore World Showcase at Epcot. You can pick on up for $5.25 or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

While you’re at Fife & Drum Tavern at the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase you might also want to pick up a Galaxy Cupcake that features a white chocolate image of Groot!

There is also the Awesome Mix Slushy with layers of Minute Made frozen Lemonade, Fanta, Blue Raspberry, and Strawberry, served with a souvenir Glow Cube for $7.75.

All of these awesome treats that you’ll find at Epcot are celebration of the new “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Live!” that opened yesterday at America Gardens Theatre at Epcot! This new show is running five time a day through August 19th and is free with park admission!

Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog! The June Casey’s Corner Hot Dog is here!  And it looks delicious! I love seeing the creations they come up with each month – and June’s is GREAT!

This month at Casey’s Corner at the Magic Kingdom park you can get the Philly Cheese Steak Hot Diggity Dog with roast beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and cheese sauce!  I love a good Philly Cheese Steak so everything about this hot dog sounds amazing to me! You can get a Foot-Long for $12.49 or a Regular sized Dog for $10.99!

June Casey's Corner Hot Dog

Casey’s Corner is located on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom park at the Walt Disney World Resort.  You’ll also find The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street U.S.A. – home of the Bottomless Milkshake of the Month!  For June make sure you stop by and order the Peanut Butter and Jelly featured milkshake.  It’s vanilla ice cream with melted peanut butter and grape jelly.  It comes topped with whipped cream and a cherry!

Still looking for more awesome “Food of the Month?”  Because, I mean, who doesn’t like to eat their way through the Magic Kingdom park?!  Head on over to Pinocchio Village Haus to try the Flatbread of the Month!  For June you’ll find the Beef & Bleu Flatbread with bleu cheese, onions, and beef brisket with Alfredo sauce and brushed with a garlic butter.

AP Event For Toy Story Land Pre-Registration Details

The Toy Story Land Annual Passholder event for September was recently announced and we now have details on how to register! AP holders can head over to the Annual Passholder Special Offers and Events section of the Disney website and scroll down to find “Enjoy Exclusive Access to Toy Story Land on Select Dates This September” and “Be Sure To Register!” You must be logged in with your AP account to proceed. Once you have successfully signed up to receive AP emails, you’ll see this message:

AP Event For Toy Story Land Pre-Registration Details

“Advance registration is required – so be on the lookout for an event invitation with registration details in your email. If an eligible Passholder would like to register a Guest to accompany them, that Guest must also have a valid Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus or Premier annual pass, be listed on your Family & Friends list and have opted to share “All My Plans” with you. Event capacity is limited and is subject to availability.”
