D23 Members Can Celebrate the Opening of Pixar Pier Early

To celebrate the opening of Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, The Official D23 Members is thrilled to host a Walt Disney Imagineer-led tour of the reimagined land before park opening!

Not only will D23 Gold Members and their guests have the chance to experience Incredicoaster, Pixar Pal-A-Round, and Toy Story Midway Mania, attendees will be led through the land by a Walt Disney Imagineer who worked on the transformation! Our D23-exclusive honored guest will share fun facts, Disney details, and behind-the-scenes stories from the four whimsical neighborhoods representing beloved Pixar stories.

This celebration will conclude with a light continental breakfast at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and will include a small commemorative keepsake!

The experience begins promptly at 6:30 a.m. Additional check-in details will be communicated in the confirmation email. Due to the nature of this unique experience, please arrive no later than 6:30 a.m.; late arrivals will not be accommodated.

D23 Members Can Celebrate the Opening of Pixar Pier Early

Confirmed attendees will arrive at the Disneyland Resort on the morning of Sunday, June 24, and be escorted through Disney California Adventure to Pixar Pier!

UPDATE: Theme park admission is NOT required to attend; attendees will be escorted to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the conclusion of the experience.

NOTES

D23 Gold and Gold Family Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest.
This event does not require admission to Disney California Adventure park and all guests will be escorted to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the conclusion of the event.
Due to the behind-the-scenes nature of this experience, the use of filming or other recording devices during this experience is prohibited and all attendees must be at least 16 years of age or older to attend.
There is a very limited number of tickets available. D23 Members will be required to provide their membership number when reserving tickets. D23 Members who do not bring their membership card and tickets may not be admitted to the event.
Ticketed Members who do not attend the event forfeit their place as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event. D23 Members must be present or guests will not gain admittance to event.

One dedicated Marvel fan has seen Avengers: Infinity War over 40 times since it hit the box office on April 27th. Nem: The Infinity Watcher, as he’s known on Twitter has let fans follow along on his journey.

Enzo’s Hideaway Will Start Offering Sunday Suppers Beginning Father’s Day Weekend

If you’ve not yet had a chance to visit Enzo’s Hideaway, now is the perfect time to add it to your Walt Disney World plans. This Disney Springs speakeasy is known for its Prohibition-era cocktails and hearty Roman-inspired cuisine. On Father’s Day (June 17, 2018), Enzo’s will also begin offering Sunday Suppers! These family-style meals will be chock-a-block with delicious Italian dishes that are sure to please.

We were lucky enough to attend one of the tasting previews this weekend and are excited to share with you a first glimpse at the Sunday Supper menu.

As you can see from the menu, the Supper includes a starter, pasta course, meat course and winds down with some delicious desserts. Here is a closer look at some of the delicious menu items:

Antipasto Board filled with assorted meats and cheeses.

Here you can see it with the accompanying salad and bread.

Above is the Rigatoni with Sunday Sauce, Parmigiano and fresh basil.

Cannoli was on offer during dessert.

As well as Tiramisu and an ice cream sundae (see below).

The Sunday Supper also offers a nice drinks menu that includes mocktails and other speciality beverages.

Enzo’s Sunday Supper is expected to become a weekly event with costs increasing to $45 per adult and remaining at $19 per child. Guests may also bring your own bottle to this delightful dinner and Enzo’s will waive the corkage fee.

New Permits Filed with the City of Anaheim for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Last week, there were six new permits filed with the city of Anaheim last week, these permits show just how much funding went into of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and how huge it will actually be. There are different projects to the new land, so each permit represents those different areas.

Want to know the value of this new immense land? It’s estimated to be just over $181.3 million.

Permit BLD2016-05640 is for the Star Destroyer attraction and surrounding area. The two-story building includes offices, cast member restroom, and break room is 115,206 square feet and is valued for $55,746,094.

Permit BLD2016-03519 is for the Millenium Falcon attraction. The two-story building is 165,565 square feet and is valued for $77,875,833.

Permit BLD2017-00975 deals with dining and retail. The 1-story restaurant is 15,550 square feet and the merchandise area is 12,340 square feet. The permit also includes an outside dining area and a loading dock. The total value for that section of the project is $18,447,605.

Permit BLD2017-01420 includes more retail space and guest restrooms. The 1-story building is 25,416 square feet and the total value is $14,336,639.

Permit BLD2017-01974 includes a 4,625 square foot space for more Castmember breakrooms, dressing rooms, and equipment rooms with a value of $2,412,980.

Review of D23’s ‘Incredible’ Mixer in Atlanta

As a member of Disney’s Official Fan Club, D23, special events are held around the country from time-to-time for members. Fortunately enough, I live in the Atlanta area and was able to attend D23’s “Incredible” Mixer at our local Shop Disney store yesterday and it was definitely incredible! The event was created to celebrate the premiere of the “Incredibles 2” coming out later this week.

First off the event started at 11 am, an hour before the store officially opens to the public so we had the entire store to ourselves! And, since it was in the morning, breakfast was provided including breakfast sandwiches, bagels, orange juice, and coffee.

After guests received a bite to eat, it was time for some “Incredible” games! Guests were invited to break up into teams and compete in a series of games. The first was some “Incredibles” trivia. Then, we got to play “hot potato” Instead of using an actual potato though, we used a Jack-Jack doll. Next up was a dance competition and followed by a game of who can pick up the toys the fastest. For the last games, all teams came together to unscramble a mystery phrase.

After the games were over, it was time to do some shopping! In addition to being able to take advantage of the current Twice Upon a Season Sale, we received an additional 20% off our purchases. I was able to purchase a whole bag of Shop Disney merchandise including time-relevant items like bathing suits and beach towels for the kids for just $60! (Even without the 20% discount, the sale prices were “Incredible!”)

All D23 Members were given an “Incredibles 2” swag bag which included a D23 cooler and “Incredibles 2” sunglasses. Additionally, each guest received a pass for two to see a Disney, Star Wars, or Marvel movie between now and the end of September for free!

But, I have to say, one of the best parts of D23’s “Incredible” Mixer in Atlanta was being able to meet and chat with some of our readers! It was great meeting you all!

Disneyland Grad Nite has been offered since 1961 to celebrate the accomplishments of high school seniors with their fellow graduates from around the country. The event will be offered at California Adventure Park on following dates in May and June 2019:

May 10, 11, 17, 18, 21, 22, 28, 29, and 31
June 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, and 14

Grads attending Disneyland Grad Nite will be treated to the transformation of Disney California Park into graduate party central! Guests can make a pit stop in Cars Land to groove along Route 66 for a dance party. Thrill seekers can take a ride on Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and the renovated Incredicoaster.

A variety of ticket packages allow grads to make the most of the party, including options to choose a Grad Nite visit that includes the Grad Nite experience at Disney California Adventure park in the evening, a full day Disney California Adventure park experience or a full day to experience both Disneyland Resort Parks – Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Progress on the new Ratatouille ride coming to Epcot is progressing. We’ve got Ratatouille ride construction photos for you today so you can see what’s happening yourself!

Last summer Disney announced that guests could expect to see a new Ratatouille ride coming to the France Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. While not officially opening date has been announced, Disney did say that they expect it to be open in time for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary.

From these photos we can still see two cranes up and working away. We can also see the frame of a building taking shape!

There certainly seems to have been some progress made from April when Chip was visiting Epcot and took some photos for us then!

In a few of these pictures we also get an peek at the new Skyliner construction happening at Epcot’s International Gateway!

We are loving all of the new things coming to Epcot! Seeing the construction photos just gets us even more excited for what’s in store for that park in the upcoming years.

Can you believe it has been 2 years since Shanghai Disney Resort opened its gates? This summer they are welcoming guests to enjoy new seasonal entertainment, menus, merchandise, and experiences rolling out across the resort to celebrate their second anniversary starting June 16.

Summer entertainment to offer fresh surprises and memorable experiences for guests

Cool Zones will be ready throughout Shanghai Disneyland where guests can escape the heat of summer and be energized in the fun and refreshing misty areas.

Part of the brand-new Disney • Pixar Toy Story Land will be transformed into a water-blast-world with Farmer Al’s Splash Around designed to delight and cool off guests. At several points throughout the day, a number of Andy’s favorite toys will host an interactive water play performance designed to fully immerse guests in the colorful new world of toys.

The extremely popular “Summer Blast” will return to the stage at the Enchanted Storybook Castle, with a number of performances held every day. The exciting show features energetic performers, classic Disney characters, and a fun dose of water, and several new showery surprises.

Duffy’s Splashing Pre-Parade is also set to delight guests as they gather to witness Mickey’s Storybook Express this summer. The pre-parade procession, led by Duffy and ShellieMay, will give guests a welcome bout of cool spritzes as they, along with a host of dancers with hand-held soakers, traverse the parade route cooling guests off. This year StellaLou and Gelatoni, Duffy’s friends, will also join the parade on a brand-new float. Seasonal menus deliver a refreshing summertime experience all their own

This summer, guests will find many cool drink offerings throughout the resort, including the StellaLou Fantasy Dreamer served up in a StellaLou souvenir cup, Mickey honey pomelo slushes in Mickey souvenir cups, Toy Story Souvenir Sips and more, like Donald’s Special Cooler, set to roll out later this month. New kiosks desserts, like the Stitch spiral sundae and the mango frozen yogurt sundae, or the Mickey marshmallow brownie and Olaf strawberry fruit tart at Remy’s Patisserie, will really hit the spot for any guest with a bit of a sweet tooth.

The Toy Box Café is also serving up new dishes like braised seafood rice and roasted pork ribs and wheat grass with potato chips, while Mickey & Pals Market Café, Pinocchio Village Kitchen and Wandering Moon Restaurant feature fresh additions, like tomato beef brisket rice, soup noodle with prawns and salt duck leg with pork noodle soup. Royal Banquet Hall’s new seasonal menus include gourmet appetizers and entrees—with a special lobster menu, plus sweet finishes like the StellaLou frozen ice cake. Hotel guests can also enjoy new a-la-carte additions at Aurora, and summer holiday beverages at Lumiere’s Kitchen.

During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a football camp will be held every weekend from June 23 to July 15 where guests can come and have a training.
