Beautiful Christmas Village now on Display at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

The Christmas Villiage is now on display at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The train pulled in the station over the weekend and we were able to get a peek last night.

This beautiful display has so many details you could spend an hour looking at little nuances.

I love many of the fun characters, the train, skyliner and even the ice skaters.

First Look – DISNEY’S “ARTEMIS FOWL” TEASER TRAILER AND POSTER

This morning Disney launched the teaser trailer and revealed the first poster for its upcoming exciting adventure ARTEMIS FOWL.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh and based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer, ARTEMIS FOWL follows 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.

The film stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Tamara Smart, Nonzo Anozie, with Josh Gad, and Judi Dench. Judy Hofflund and Kenneth Branagh are producing with Angus More Gordon and Matthew Jenkins serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Conor McPherson.

Disney’s ARTEMIS FOWL releases in U.S. theaters on August 9, 2019.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort New Restaurants Have Names

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort new restaurants have names! Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be opening of July 2019 and it was announced you can book rooms starting today, November 27th! We brought you the details on the new resort and its progress throughout the build. Construction has been ongoing at Coronado Springs for months as Disney makes upgrades to the resorts dining options, making pool refurbishments, as well as adding additional lodging to the resort.

This morning Disney posted the names and opening dates of their two newest dining locations and gave us a view of what type of menus we can be looking forward to!

Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood Treat your senses to Spanish-inspired cuisine and sweeping views at this intimate rooftop restaurant—opening July 9, 2019. Located atop the 15-story Gran Destino Tower, Toledo serves up classic tapas, steak and seafood dishes featuring seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. To complement your meal, choose from a splendid selection of wines from Spain and California.

Three Bridges Bar & Grill Delight in sandwiches, shared plates, salads and more at this relaxing lakefront restaurant—opening July 9, 2019.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration this Thursday night on ABC! The holidays just got a little more jolly! ABC is airing The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration with singer, songwriter and Dancing with the Stars: Juniors host Jordan Fisher and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland as they host the magical two-hour event live from the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

Joined by Disneyland host Jesse Palmer, Disney Parks and ABC will kick off the holiday season in a way only Disney can, showcasing incredible music performances, special appearances and some unforgettable Disney magic moments including an extraordinary castle lighting spectacular.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Closed Due To Cold Weather – As cooler weather moves into the area operations at the waterpark will be shut down temporarily.

“Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort should be advised that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, due to forecasted low temperatures. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses will remain open normal business hours. As a reminder, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment.”

While the weather is too chilly for water activities it is great for heading to other Walt Disney World parks and attractions! Don’t miss an opportunity to have fun in great fall weather. We especially love this time of year for park fun. No need to dash from one air-conditioned attraction to another. A more leisurely pace is a welcome change for many park guests. Take in the World Showcase at Epcot or explore the shops at Disney Springs.

Holiday Decorations At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you tend to live on the wild side, there is no better place to get a closer look at wild animal species than at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

The resort gives guests a chance to see wild animals species living in a habitat located at the resort, right outside some of the resort room windows!

During the holidays, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge brings some non-indigenous plant life to the lobby, and various areas of the resort, in celebration of the holiday season. The centerpiece being a 4-story tall Christmas Tree that towers over even the chandeliers made of tribal shields affixed to the ceiling of the lobby! Take a look.

Around the various railings that surround the lobby decorative garland is strung along the third and fourth level balconies.

I know you are dying to get a closer look! Here are a few close up images of the Christmas Tree along with its distinctively themed ornaments, garland, and of course, warmly lit Christmas lights. Some of the ornaments are tribal designs of animals, stringed beads, musical instruments, and on occasion you will even find woven straw, Mickey Mouse shaped, ornaments. Talk about a hidden Mickey, this one is only available during this time of the year! Can you spot the hidden Mickey?

Zawadi Marketplace also has decorated for the holidays with a tree just outside the store, and is adorned with tribal masks and other unique ornamentation you won’t find at the other Disney Resorts. Inside the market place you will find another tree as a centerpiece display for guests to see along with beautiful garland draped perfectly around the pillars. Along the various displays and tables you will find more holiday decor that compliments the merchandise surrounding it. While admiring the decorations you can also search for the perfect present! It’s an easy way to multitask during the busy holiday season.

We spotted another Christmas Tree near the lobby that had a delightful glow to a normally darker corner of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

In various areas around the resort there are similarly themed wreaths along the pillars to the other floors. These wreaths glimmer and shine, much like the other decor found around the resort.

It’s not just the inside of Jambo House or Kadani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge that get the holiday treatment. Some outdoor portions of the resort are decorated as well. Here is a shot from inside the bus stop located at the entrance to the Lodge.

There is so much more to do and see throughout the year at the Disney Resorts, we highly suggest visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Walt Disney World Railroad to Close for Tron Construction

The legendary train whistle will be silent if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom Park beginning December 3rd. The Walt Disney World Railroad will be closed at all stations beginning on December 3rd and through January 5th. This closure is happening so that construction can proceed on the new Tron attraction – to be located in Tomorrowland. You’ll notice while pulling up the daily calendar for Magic Kingdom Park that the railroad will be listed as closed for those dates.

We all love the 20-minute, 1.5-mile scenic tour onboard one of the majestic and fully restored narrow-gauge trains. Do you know all of their names?

Walter E. Disney – named after Walt Disney
Lilly Belle – named after Walt’s wife, Lillian
Roy O. Disney, named after Walt’s brother
Roger E. Broggie, named after an original Imagineer who led the railroad project at Walt Disney World.

Could you name all 4? Which one is your favorite? All were originally built between 1916 and 1928. Don’t worry this is only a temporary and short closure. They will be back full steam ahead after January 5th.

Personalized Sketches at Art of Animation

Personalized sketches are back at the Ink & Paint Shop at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. When you could still learn to draw with an animator at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the artist gave me his drawing because I answered a trivia question correctly. I still have it, and it is certainly the best Winnie the Pooh I have from that day. That being said, it is very cool to have a personalized sketch. Even better when it is your favorite character. Right now, you can head over to the Ink & Paint Shop and grab one for yourself, and maybe another as a holiday gift.

The best part about these sketches, besides having your name on them, is that the characters are all festive in their holiday clothes. Tinkerbell is looking very nice in her red holiday outfit.

Santa Donald is not a bad choice, either. I think I see Ariel peeking around behind him, as well. Now you are probably wondering how much one of these is going to set you back. I am sure you are aware by now that the way I got mine is not going to get you one of these. Well, we looked that up, too. Here is the price breakdown. A sketch with one character is $45. Two characters is $65. Three characters is $80, four is $95, five is $110, six is $125, and seven is $140. Obviously, more characters means more money, but it also means less per character. The sign says you can see a Cast Member for details, but there wasn’t anything there on whether or not you can have more than seven characters. I wonder what happens if you want all seven dwarfs and Snow White? Well, if you get over there and decide to get one, let me know!

Art of Animation Holiday Decor

Now that Thanksgiving is over, Walt Disney World is getting into the full swing of things all over the resort. The parks are dressed in their holiday best, and so are the resorts. We recently took a trip over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to get some pictures to share with you. In the photo above, you can see their main Christmas tree outside the Ink & Paint Shop. They have gone with a theme of using white in the decor, but it sure works for them. All of the colors of those ornaments really pop!

Inside the store, you will find some more of those white Christmas trees. They are smaller than the main tree out in the lobby, and are situated on the displays for a festive addition to the merchandise. There are also white garlands hung over some of the wall displays to tie it all together.

Above the doors to the outside, you’ll find more of that white theme hanging around. Garlands and wreaths alike are hanging up there with white lights and colorful ornaments. If you peek through the doors, you can see they hung some more of those white wreaths on the side walls, as well. Those are much bigger, but just as fun!

Finally, we’ve got a close up of one of the wreaths hanging up at the resort. The more I look at it, the more I end up finding hiding out in there. The purple accents compliment the base white of the wreath, but the truly fun part is the sketches of animated characters hiding inside. Which, of course, is appropriate at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. I see Ariel and Luigi and there’s one more that I can’t quite make out. Who do you think it is?

Holiday Cheer For Visitors to the Boardwalk – A Festive Gingerbread House Awaits Take a look at this amazing creation! We are really enjoying all of the holiday decorations around the parks and could not wait to share this gingerbread delight.

The Boardwalk is decked out in holiday finery. A sparkling star tops the Christmas tree as it greets visitors to the waterfront. Deep green garland adorns buildings. A lamp post has a spiral of bright colored decorations. The holidays are here! Each bright colored bobble declares in a display of cheery color.
